Chapter 26. Jealous

Baroness Yolanda and Countess Sarah were in disbelief and widened their eyes when they saw King Alec and Queen Roseline eating with the servants and guards.

"Honor Your Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen."

King Alec and Queen Roseline simply nodded and did not reply. Countess Sarah continued to spread her smile to King Alec.

"Didn't the servant see wrong? How could His Majesty the King sit on the ground and eat with lowly servants like them?" Ask Baroness Yolanda.

"And you servants and guards. Don't you have respect and manners? How dare you sit down and eat with His Majesty the King who is far above you! You should bow before the king. Is the Queen not able to educate them well?" Added.

"How dare you yell and scold the servants and guards at the queen's palace Baroness Yolanda. Who do you think you are? This is my palace and I am the ruler. So it's up to me how I treat them. And don't try to criticize how I educate my servants."

"Isn't that so His Majesty the King?"

Queen Roseline looked at King Alec with her angry gaze.

"Oh my Queen, you're getting more charming when you're angry like this." Inner King Alec.

"You're the Queen, you're the ruler of this palace and the Queen has every right to do whatever the Queen wants." Said King Alec gently while rubbing the lips of Queen Roseline as if there was dirt there, but there was no.

Queen Roseline flinched and rounded her eyes. While Countess Sarah squeezed her dress firmly because of burning flames of jealousy.

"I want to eat with them myself. So you don't have to be angry let alone demeaning them, Baroness Yolanda." King Alec said firmly.

Baroness Yolanda was shocked.

"Hamba apologizes Your Majesty." Baroness great-grandson Yolanda while holding back her anger for having been humiliated in front of the servants.

"How is His Majesty the King?" Ask Countess Sarah to divert the conversation.

"My good news is Countess Sarah. And it wasn't just two days ago that we met." Answer King Alec. "What interest did you come to the palace for? Did Duke Darian bring you here?"

"That's because it was Baroness Yolanda who invited me to come to this palace, Your Majesty." Countess Sarah replied nervously.

King Alec scratched his forehead.

"That's right, Your Majesty. The servant who had invited Countess Sarah to the palace, because the servant felt lonely and needed a storyteller." Baroness Yolanda.

Queen Roseline cleared her throat.

"If you may know, you two just went on a hunt in which forest?" Queen Roseline's Tirps.

A confused look on the faces of Baroness Yolanda and Countess Sarah.

"That scarf and your fur hat look good. What forest do you get fox and skunk fur from?" Said Queen Roseline as she pointed at the scarf and hat worn by the two women with a mocking look.

The face of Baroness Yolanda instantly flushed red holding back the anger.

"It's not the Queen's haphazard scarf and fur hat. This was a gift from King Zhang when I visited Mongolan kingdom. All of them were made from the rare fur of rabbits and wolves. And it must have a very expensive price." Baroness Yolanda.

"Is the Queen envious of seeing the appearance of the two of us?" Countess Sarah asked arrogantly.

Queen Roseline's laughter broke. King Alec and everyone who was there were taken aback. This time they saw Queen Roseline laughing. Usually Queen Roseline just smiles and turns her lips. King Alec could not take his eyes off the woman who had always made his heart pound.

Queen Roseline coughed lightly and gulped down her white water.

"Sorry Countess Sarah, our tastes are not the same. Maybe you think it's a great performance, but unfortunately I think it's usually, it looks funny." Queen Roseline said as she held back from laughing anymore.

Baroness Yolanda and Countess Sarah are very upset and angry, but both attempt to hold her in front of King Alec.

"Your Majesty the King, I want to ask permission. Can Countess Sarah stay in this palace for a few days while I stay here, so that I will not be lonely? Servant please." Please Baroness Yolanda with a clear face.

King Alec let out a long breath.

"If indeed Baroness Yolanda feels lonely, I'll allow it."

Queen Roseline scratched her forehead. Baroness Yolanda and Countess Sarah were delighted.

"I allowed Baroness Yolanda to stay at Duke Darian's residence, so you wouldn't feel lonely anymore."

The smiles on the faces of Baroness Yolanda and Countess Sarah instantly evaporated.

"I-I mean Your Majesty?" Ask the two women at the same time.

"You sound healthy, don't you? You should understand what I mean." Answer King Alec.

"But, what was the reason His Majesty didn't allow Countess Sarah to stay in this palace? Is it because of the Queen?" The Baroness Yolanda.

Queen Roseline rolled her eyeballs and snorted in annoyance.

"I am the reigning King in this palace and in the whole kingdom of Cardania. I don't need a reason to do anything I want. And one more thing, you should never corner my Queen with your asums, Baroness Yolanda. I don't like." Said King Alec with his cold gaze.

Baroness Yolanda and Countess Sarah swallow their saliva rough. The two soon leave and leave the queen's palace out of fear that King Alec will get even more angry later. It was not good for the position of Countess Sarah in the future.

The dinner together was over. The servants immediately tidied up the rest of their party. King Alec and Queen Roseline sat in the gazebo drinking warm tea.

"Hamba thought His Majesty would allow Countess Sarah to stay at the palace." Said Queen Roseline.

"I'm not that stupid, Queen. I won't let anyone in and ruin our lives. And I want to mend our relationship, Queen." King Alec.

King Alec threw his breath out harshly.

"I know I've made a mistake and hurt your heart, Queen. An apology will never be enough. But give me a chance to fix everything." King Alec said sincerely.

Queen Roseline sipped her favorite jasmine tea.

"It's not that easy, Your Majesty. Roseline is not the Roseline she used to be. There is no love in the heart of the servant for His Majesty. So it's useless that we keep this marriage." Queen Roseline.

King Alec's heart felt pierced and slashed at the recognition of Queen Roseline. His eyes began to dew, but as hard as he could hold so that the clear grains did not fall. King Alec smiled blandly.

"Maybe this time the love is gone. But I promise to bring that love to your heart again, Queen. No matter how hard and how long it takes. Please give me a chance." King Alec.

Queen Roseline fell silent and stared straight at the flower bed in the garden.

"The original purpose of my arrival here, I want to let you know that I revoked my decision to oblige the Queen to attend all the meetings I attended."

Queen Roseline looked at King Alec in disbelief.

"I'm sorry for not thinking about the Queen's feelings before. From now on the Queen is free to go in and out of the palace at will. But, if there's a meeting that addresses a very important matter I ask the Queen to attend because I want the Queen to remain my advisor." The King of Alec.

"Is Your Majesty serious?" Ask Queen Roseline.

King Alec smiled.

"I'm seriously the Queen. I hope the Queen isn't upset with me anymore." Answer King Alec.

"Thank you." Queen Roseline.

King Alec just nodded.

"May I know something?" Ask King Alec.

"Yes?" Queen Roseline's.

"Why didn't the Queen give the death penalty to the man who was paid to take your life? And why would the Queen take the man and take care of his family?"

Queen Roseline pulled one end of her lips. Queen Roseline knew that King Alec had been sending his men to spy on her.

"Because he doesn't deserve to be killed. Victor is not a murderer. And he did the job because he was forced to, in order to earn money for the treatment of his sick daughter." Answer Queen Roseline.

"But still, he is guilty and considered to have committed a crime for trying to harm the Queen of this kingdom." King Alec said he did not accept.

"Your Majesty is right. And I hope Your Majesty keeps this matter a secret. I'm pretty sure Victor's not a random guy. There's something interesting about him that makes me curious."

King Alec's heart immediately boiled over hearing him. There was interest from Queen Roseline to the man named Victor.

"Did the Queen like that guy? Is he better looking than me?"

There was an aura of jealousy from King Alec's facial expression.

"Don't be silly. I'm an honorable woman and I'm still sane, Your Majesty. I can't expect a married man. There are still plenty of single men in this world that I can get easily, if I want." Queen Roseline replied with an annoyed face and dispelled her formal demeanor.

"I won't let it. You are my wife and my woman. Only I can be your husband. I won't let any man come near you, Queen. Remember that." The King of Alec.

"Well, we'll see." Said Queen Roseline casually, but made King Alec even more upset.

Queen Roseline let out a long sigh, then stood up from her seat.

"Hamba wants to see Victor. Is Your Majesty willing to come?" Ask Queen Roseline.

"Of course, I have to come." King Alec replied excitedly.

King Alec immediately stood up and followed Queen Roseline's steps towards the room where Victor was.
