Chapter 31. Pain

King Alec woke up with a face this morning. He continued to touch her lips while smiling. King Alec is currently in Duke Ramon's office because Marquess Filan wants to submit an important report. Marquess Filan who had explained at length, immediately stopped because King Alec looked unfocused. Marquess Filan let out a long sigh.

"Why did you stop, Filan?" Ask King Alec.

Marquess Filan snorted in annoyance. "It's just that I explained at length, but Your Majesty didn't listen."

King Alec gave his sharp gaze.

"You're getting brave now, Filan?"

"Bu-not like Sire. I have noticed since then that His Majesty only daydreams with a smile, and does not listen to the servant's explanation." Marquess Filan said a little scared.

"You just write, I'll read it." King Alec.

King Alec stood up and walked out of the room. Marquess Filan breathed a sigh of relief.

"It turns out that when His Majesty is in love it is more frightening. He's becoming more sensitive."

King Alec steps into Queen Roseline's room with a heart of flowers.

"Is the Queen in her room?" Ask King Alec.

"Please, Your Majesty. The Queen is currently with Duke Sullivan in the Duke's study." Answer Server.

King Alec immediately headed for Duke Sullivan's study. A servant would report, but King Alec immediately gestured. The waiter left immediately. King Alec was about to knock on the door, but was undone upon hearing the conversation between Queen Roseline and Duke Sullivan.

"Dad notice your relationship with His Majesty is getting better. Your Majesty has already shown his concern for you, my daughter." Duke Sullivan.

Queen Roseline let out a long breath.

"How are you feeling right now?"

"Come Father. Seline doesn't know." Answer Queen Roseline.

"Listen to Daddy, Seline. There is no perfect man in this world. And there's no harm in you giving His Majesty a second chance." Duke Sullivan.

Queen Roseline smiled blandly.

"The wounds on the body can heal easily Dad. Different from a wound in the heart. It takes more time and evidence to cure it. Honestly, Dad, my desire to leave the palace is still strong."

"Dad knows son. I will always support whatever your decision is. And I hope you can be wise when you make a decision." Duke Sullivan.

"Thank you, Dad." Queen Roseline hugged her father.

King Alec stepped his feet with a reddened face, as well as sharp and cold eyes. The servants were frightened and no one moved, let alone raised their heads as King Alec passed by them. King Alec is heading for the back garden. Quickly King Alec drew the sword from one of the guards. King Alec slashed the flower that was there blindly to vent his emotions.

"Aarr!!!"

King Alec threw the sword and stuck it on a tree trunk. King Alec dropped his body under the tree while closing his eyes. King Alec's memories go back in time.

"Sheel." Call Queen Roseline.

Queen Roseline went into King Alec's study, removed her nightgown and revealed her body's duster from under her thin nightgown.

"Would you like to come here? Go then! I don't want to see your face!" King Alec's Jerk.

Queen Roseline ignores King Alec's snaps. Queen Roseline ventured closer to King Alec and massaged King Alec's shoulder.

"Please!" King Alec blocks Queen Roseline's hand firmly.

"uh." Screeched Queen Roseline.

"How dare you touch me with your dirty hands." Said King Alec with a murderous look.

"Hand of the servant is clean, Sire. I washed it earlier." Lirih Queen Roseline.

"I don't care. To me everything in your body is dirty, nothing more than trash." Hina King Alec.

Queen Roseline's eyes felt foggy, but she tried to keep the clear liquid from falling.

"If you want to cry, cry! You think by dressing like this you can lure me in. To me your current appearance is not much different from the comfort women in the brothel. And that disgusts me so much."

King Alec clutched the jaw of Queen Roseline's face hard and made Queen Roseline even more in pain.

"Don't I tell you. If your body needs warmth, look for another man out there. I'll close my eyes and I'll make sure no one knows what you're doing, Queen." Said King Alec while grinning.

King Alec released his grip and pushed Queen Roseline's body to the floor. The cry of Queen Roseline broke unbearably. Slowly Queen Roseline got up and picked up her sleeping robe, and put it on again.

"Baginda may regard the servant as a lowly woman. But the servant is not a despicable woman who will betray the servant's husband and let the servant's body be touched by another man. Servants are not that bad, Sire. And I willingly die for the salvation of my husband." Said Queen Roseline, then left King Alec's study.

King Alec cried considering how cruel he had been to Queen Roseline in the past. With his affirmation he insulted and demeaned the woman who always loved him sincerely.

"I am a wicked and barbaric man. Queen Roseline deserves to hate me. God, if I could turn the clock I wouldn't waste a woman as good as Roseline. I really feel humiliated." Lirih King Alec.

King Alec flinched as someone touched his shoulder.

"Queen."

Queen Roseline sat in front of King Alec.

"I'm so sorry Queen. I am a bad and despicable man. I always say insulting words to hurt your heart. I always put you down. I'm a despicable human being." Said King Alec while sobbing.

"Does He know now how much pain I feel?" Ask Queen Roseline.

King Alec nodded.

"Take off the servant, Sire." Queen Roseline.

King Alec widened his eyes.

"But I also want to feel happiness, Sire." Said Queen Roseline.

King Alec prostrated himself before Queen Roseline.

"Baginda! What did your Majesty do?" Shouted the King Queen Roseline.

"You can give me any punishment. I'll accept. But please, never intend to leave me. You can slash my hand, you can cut off my leg. Do it, I'll." Said the King while continuing to prostrate.

Queen Roseline's heart ached to see King Alec humbling himself before her. Queen Roseline immediately pulled the body of King Alec to the ground and hugged him.

"Baginda never lower your self-esteem in front of anyone. His Majesty is the great King of the Kingdom of Cardania. You can't look weak." Queen Roseline.

King Alec broke their arms.

"I am willing to lower my pride before you Queen. As long as you throw away your intention to leave me." King Alec.

"But I dare not promise things that I cannot do or give to His Majesty. Servant also does not want to make Your Majesty disappointed, if later the love for Your Majesty will never come back." Obviously Queen Roseline.

"Give me a chance, Queen. I will bring that love back and fill your heart. Please, give me some time."

King Alec placed Queen Roseline's palm over her head.

"I, Alec Cardania, the King of the Kingdom of Cardania promised, I will never see another woman. I'll never touch a woman again, let alone marry another woman. If I break my promise, put your sword in my heart. And you can go anywhere you want." King Alec's Promise.

Queen Roseline pulled out her hand and touched King Alec's face.

"Then don't waste your time, Sire." Queen Roseline.

King Alec widened his eyes. "Does that mean the Queen has given me a chance?"

Queen Roseline snorted in annoyance. "The servant will not repeat the word of the servant a second time. Unless your Majesty wants you to cancel."

Queen Roseline immediately stood up and walked away. King Alec immediately chased after him and hugged him from behind.

"No Queen. Please don't cancel. Thank you, you gave me a chance. I promise I'll never waste it." King Alec.

"Then, keep your attitude. I don't want to be the center of attention." Ketus Queen Roseline.

King Alec immediately let go of his embrace when he realized that many eyes were on the two of them. King Alec and Queen Roseline walk hand in hand and no one opens their voices until the two enter Duke Sullivan's mansion. King Alec and Queen Roseline say goodbye to Duke Sullivan and Duke Ramon. They're going back to the palace.

"Seline go first Dad. You always have to take care of your health." Queen Roseline.

"of course. I still want to see my grandchildren and play with them." Duke Sullivan replied.

"Dad!"

Queen Roseline's face flushed in embarrassment.

Duke Sullivan laughed. King Alec and Duke Ramon were delighted to see the aura of happiness emanating from the father and son.

"I've put some palace soldiers on guard in this residence. I don't want anyone else to break into the Duke's residence and harm him again." King Alec.

"Hamba thank you, Sire. The servant's men have interrogated the servant. He kept saying he knew nothing and only accepted orders and wages. But the servant will never give up on finding the criminal. I won't let anyone hurt my servant's family and the royal family." Said Duke Ramon.

"Thank you, Duke." Said King Alec while hugging Duke Ramon.

The entourage of King Alec and Queen Roseline leaves Duke Sullivan's residence, but without Arabella. Arabella returned to her parents' home after hearing that her mother was ill.

In a room, a man slammed the items there.

"Less aj@r! How can you fail?" Shake the man.

"For Mr. Baron. Our man has done his job well. Just a little more, but suddenly the King and Queen arrive at Duke Sullivan's residence and foil all our plans." Said one of his men.

The man grew angry and slammed the big urn to pieces.

"Stop all our plans and eliminate all evidence and eyewitnesses. Don't let them find our trail." Said the man.

"Okay, Mr. Baron, we'll do it."

"Tell the waiter to prepare the horse carriage. I will go and enter the palace today."

"I will introduce the new future King of the Kingdom of Cardania to all of them, King Joseph." Said the man while grinning.
