Chapter 5. You're Not Who

"Your Majesty. The Queen is back, and is currently in the Queen's palace." Report Marquess Filan.

"Sometimes he's just back." King Alec said in annoyance.

King Alec immediately walked out of his private room through the door and the secret passage that connected him directly to his room.

"Prepare warm water for me. I'm gonna take a shower. And I don't want to be bullied or see anyone, except the Queen Mother." King Alec exclaimed to his guards and servants from inside the room.

"Okay, Your Majesty." Answer the guard and the servant.

King Alec tried to calm himself and dampen his emotions that erupted because of the Queen's behavior, by soaking in warm water. King Alec closed his eyes, and immediately appeared the beautiful face of Queen Roseline who was smiling. King Alec immediately opened his eyes.

"Why did the smiling Queen's face suddenly appear in my mind?" muttered King Alec did not understand.

King Alec was silent and contemplated.

"That's why I miss that smile. The Queen used to smile no matter how I behaved to her. He always tried hard to get my attention. Though cheap, but I saw sincerity in his eyes."

"From the beginning I didn't want it and always ignored the Queen. I want him to stay away from my life. So what's wrong with my feelings right now?"

King Alec continues to monologue. King Alec took a deep breath, then threw it away violently.

King Alec ordered that his dinner be prepared sooner and delivered to his room immediately. King Alec is lazy to leave the room.

"Is His Majesty the King in his room?" Queen Roseline asked the King's guards.

"There's Her Majesty the Queen. But His Majesty is not in the mood to be disturbed and does not want to see anyone." Answer the guard.

"And I want to discuss the problems of the peasants with him. Yes, I'll finish it myself. Without his help though, I can still help those farmers." Inner Queen Roseline.

Queen Roseline simply nodded, then left the King's room. While in front of the King's palace, Queen Roseline meets Countess Sarah. Countess Sarah came to the King's palace because she wanted to meet King Alec and take him to dinner together.

"Greetings Her Majesty the Queen." Countess Sarah.

"Countess Sarah." Queen Roseline nodded, then continued her footsteps.

"Basasar the queen's arrogant." Nara murmured but could still be heard by the ears of Queen Roseline who had very sharp hearing.

Countess Sarah was shocked and immediately looked at the servant.

Queen Roseline immediately stopped her steps.

"Please! How dare a lowly servant like you insult the Queen of the Kingdom of Cardania!" Jerk Queen Roseline.

Countess Sarah and Nara are in action.

"Guard!" Shouted Queen Roseline.

The two palace guards faced straight.

"Honor Your Majesty the Queen." Speak to the guards.

"This servant's law with 50 lashes, for his filthy mouth has dared to insult the Royal Queen of Cardania!" Queen Roseline's orders.

Countess Sarah and Nara instantly widened her eyes.

Nara immediately knelt down and begged for mercy.

"Nor Your Majesty the Queen. Servant beg for mercy."

"Hamba please Her Majesty the Queen, please forgive the stupidity of this servant. I apologize for not being able to educate her well." Please Countess Sarah.

"It's good that you know yourself. You should have educated your servant well. But the punishment will still be carried out." Said Queen Roseline without pity.

"But Your Majesty." Countess Sarah's law does not accept.

"You think who you are bravely refutes my words! You should know and remember where you are Countess Sarah. You're nobody in this palace. You're just someone who's lucky to get the favor of His Majesty the King, so that you can stay inside this palace for a while, as a thank you for saving His Majesty's life."

"If you do not accept my decision, please leave this palace. Even if you complain to His Majesty the King, I don't care." Queen Roseline said firmly.

Countess Sarah could only duck and squeeze her dress. Countess Sarah did not want to be rash and made her have to get out of the palace. Countess Sarah does not want to be far from King Alec.

"Are you deaf? Whip him 50 times." Jerk Queen Roseline.

The guards were jolted and shocked to learn that the change in attitude of their Queen was no less frightening than King Alec.

"Okay, Your Majesty." The guards answered, then took out their whips.

"If this happens again. I'll make sure he loses both his legs and his hands." Said Queen Roseline with a murderous look.

Countess Sarah's body trembled in fear.

Queen Roseline and Marie leave the King's palace. The guards immediately gave Nara a caning. Nara screams in pain. Countess Sarah could not bear to see it. In the heart of Countess Sarah does not accept the treatment of Queen Roseline. Countess Sarah immediately ran into the King's palace.

"Guardian. Tell His Majesty the King if I, Countess Sarah want to meet." Shouted Countess Sarah with her panicked face.

"Sorry Miss, Your Majesty the King is not looking to see anyone." Remark.

"But there is something important that I must convey to His Majesty the King. Please tell me if I want to face." Countess Sarah shouted a little.

"I'm sorry, miss. We cannot convey it because we have to fulfill the orders of His Majesty the King. Please get out of here." Answer guards.

"I am a woman close to His Majesty the King." Countess Sarah with emotion.

The guard only smiled at her smile.

"Her Majesty Queen Roseline, the legitimate wife of Her Majesty the King alone cannot see her. You better get out of here, or we'll drag you out for messing around here." Remark.

Countess Sarah looked at the guard with an angry look, then returned to where Nara was being punished. Countess Sarah cries to see Nara who continues to get her merciless lash. After 50 lashes were given, the guards dragged Nara's frail body towards the guest pavilion. Countess Sarah asks another servant to treat Nara's wounds.

"I'm sorry, Miss." Lirih Nara's.

"Next time don't repeat. What you did earlier could threaten my position here. I've been trying so hard that I can continue to be in the palace and close to His Majesty the King." Countess Sarah said.

"Hamba knows. I promise I will never repeat my mistakes again." Nara said while holding the pain when the wound was given medicine.

Queen Roseline just finished enjoying her dinner with Marie.

"Your Majesty. What if Countess Sarah complains to His Majesty the King? Servant is afraid that His Majesty the King will be angry with you" Marie said.

Queen Roseline smiled faintly.

"I don't care and I'm not afraid of him. If Her Majesty does not accept, then I will take this matter before Her Majesty the Queen Mother and this matter will proceed to the royal court. And it's certainly Countess Sarah's side that will be harmed." Said Queen Roseline while grinning.

Marie just nodded. Although Marie felt strange about the change in her Queen's attitude, but she also felt happy that the Queen would not be as easily hurt as she once was.

Queen Roseline (Alice) remembers the story in the novel. When Queen Roseline chastises Countess Sarah's servant, King Alec is angry and caned and Queen Roseline is barred from the Queen's court for one week.

"If he dares to punish me with a whip, I will give him back the whip with a whip that has been coated with a piece of my knife." Inner Queen Roseline.

The next morning, Countess Sarah was waiting in front of the King's palace, accompanied by her new servant, because Nara was still sick and could not serve him. Countess Sarah waits for King Alec to leave her palace.

Upon seeing King Alec come out with Marquess Filan, Countess Sarah smiled happily.

"Greetings Your Majesty the King." Countess Sarah said as she saluted.

"Hamba apologizes Your Majesty, if I have disturbed Your Majesty this morning. I want to ask Your Majesty for help." Answer Countess Sarah.

King Alec scratched his forehead.

"What help? Say." Ask King Alec.

"Hamba pleads for justice to His Majesty the King for his servant, Nara." Answer Countess Sarah.

"What's the problem? And where's your personal servant?" King Alec asked as he looked at Countess Sarah's new servant.

"The servant, Nara, is in pain, Your Majesty, after receiving the whip from Her Majesty the Queen." Countess Sarah said sadly.

King Alec and Marquess Filan widened their eyes.

"Your Majesty the Queen must have had a reason why she would punish your servant." Marquess Filan.

"All because it is the wrong servant of Her Majesty, because the servant cannot educate the servant of the servant so well that it is considered impolite by Her Majesty the Queen. I've been begging for mercy, but Her Majesty the Queen doesn't care." Countess Sarah said in tears.

"Right be Your Majesty." Answer the palace guard.

"Why didn't you tell him to come in?" Angry King Alec.

The palace guards immediately knelt down.

"For Your Majesty. His Majesty the King himself said that His Majesty does not want to meet anyone, except the Queen Mother." The palace guard.

King Alec let out a long breath. He only remembered that he himself gave orders to his servants and guards.

"All right, you can go." King Alec.

The guards immediately returned to their place.

"Where's the queen going so early?" The King Alec.

"For Your Majesty. According to reports from our shadow guards, the Queen went to a special forces training ground belonging to Commander Ramon, the elder brother of Her Majesty the Queen, who was still in Duke Sullivan's territory. And they also say that the Queen is proficient in martial arts and swordplay." Report Marquess Filan.

King Alec hardened his jaw.
