Chapters 19. The Provisional King's Substitute

"Honor, Her Majesty the Queen." Excited the nobles and government officials while saluting.

Without exception, Duke Sullivan was also present in the royal meeting room. Queen Roseline walked with her firm steps while upholding her body and gaze. Marquess Andry and Felix walked behind him. Queen Roseline occupies the throne of the King. Everyone who was there looked at each other with confused faces.

"You must have been surprised by my coming here." Queen Roseline said coldly.

"It's really the Queen." Answer Viscount August.

"From this moment on I, Queen Roseline Cardania will take the place of Her Majesty Alec as long as His Majesty the King is still in care."

All the nobles and officials widened their eyes.

"But, Your Majesty." Protest of an official.

Brakk!!!

Queen Roseline placed the royal seal of Cardania on the table.

"How could the Queen possibly obtain the King's seal?" There were whispers among the bangawan.

"Aren't you begging Her Majesty the Queen Mother for someone to take the King's place for a while. And Empress Dowager Helene chose me to take the place of the King." Queen Roseline.

"Please forgive the Queen. To occupy the King's position, it takes a person who is in control of the system of government and an experienced person." Said the Minister of Trade, Mr. Robin.

Queen Roseline smiled cynically.

"Do you doubt my abilities, Minister?" Queen Roseline asked with a grin.

"No-no Queen. Servants don't mean that."

"Mr Robin didn't mean it to be the Queen. But it was true what he said, if not just anyone who could become the leader of a Kingdom of this size even if only temporarily. Is that right, Duke Sullivan?" Viscount August said with a smile towards Duke Sullivan.

Duke Sullivan sighed. "True Viscount, August. To be a leader in a kingdom is not just anyone."

"The queen is not a random person, Viscount August. The Queen is the second leader after His Majesty the King. How dare you humble Her Majesty the Queen." Marquess Andry.

The nobles were instantly made nervous.

"I'll show you that you've misjudged me. Marquess Andry read the report you brought." Said Queen Roseline.

Marquess Andry unfolded the scroll he had brought and read it aloud.

"I will read the report of the abuses and fraud committed by the nobles and royal officials."

Marquess Andry grinned as he saw the shock of most of the nobles and royal officials.

"First, Minister of Trade. Mr. Robin, has monopolized the sale of wheat seeds. And sell the grain of wheat at a great price to the farmers."

"I-it's all the Queen's lie. There must be someone who wants to drop the position of servant. Where's the evidence if I make all those accusations?" Master Robin's Eagle.

Queen Roseline smiled.

"The evidence is clearly displayed in the warehouse of your family in Minean, the southern region of the Kingdom of Cardania. You're hoarding all the wheat seeds there. Do you want to dodge it, Minister?"

Mr. Robin widened his eyes. For years he had been hoarding, and no one knew it. For years he has been running this illegal business.

"What does the Queen mean? It was indeed a warehouse belonging to the servant family that was used as a storage place for the harvest from the servant family's farm, the Queen."

Mr. Robin keeps dodging.

"When has Mr Robin's family farm been on the Rubania Plain in the eastern region of Cardania? Even the sellers from Rubania sent it to your family's warehouse." Queen Roseline.

Mr. Robin is getting nervous and confused about having to answer let alone. Mr. Robin can't be sniffed anymore. Mr. Robin immediately knelt down.

"Slamb please forgive Your Majesty. Give the servant a chance to correct the servant's mistake. I have a young child, Your Majesty." Please Mr. Robin.

"You should have thought of them before committing fraud, Mr. Robin." Answer Queen.

"What you've done is tantamount to slowly strangling the farmers, Mr. Robin. The current King Warrior must have arrived at Minean to secure the evidence. Ask the King for forgiveness, even if the King still wants to be kind to you." Marquess Andry said.

"Guards! Take Mr. Robin and put him in jail!"

Two bodyguards rushed in and took Mr. Robin, who could do nothing else, to prison. Marquess Andry continued to recite acts of abuse committed by several nobles and officials. They compact protested and did not accept the allegations that have been given.

"That's not all right, Your Majesty. We didn't commit all that crime." Their protest.

"Truely not, the royal warrior will prove it. And His Majesty the King has also received a copy of this report." Marquess Andry said.

The nobles and officials named by Marquess Andry along with the evidence were immediately led to the prison.

"If you may know, where did Her Majesty the Queen get the report?" Viscount August asked kindly.

"From what I saw and found with my own eyes. You guys must have thought all this time that I came out of the palace just for fun. Maybe at first it was true, I came out of the palace to eliminate fatigue. But when I found out a lot about the nobles and royal officials, I became more interested and curious." Queen Roseline replied with a grin.

"It's glorious what the Queen did. But it's best that such a thing be done by the soldiers and the head of the kingdom's security. It could jeopardize the Queen's safety. Much better, if the Queen lives in the palace to maintain the health of the Queen's body. So that the Queen can immediately give offspring to His Majesty the King." Viscount August.

"Viscount August!" Shouted Duke Sullivan with a face restraining in anger.

"If Her Majesty is unwilling or unable to give an heir to the King, at least allow the King to remarry in order to obtain offspring." Viscount August is getting bolder.

"Enough Viscount August. Watch your talk." The Marquess Andry.

"Where is my mistake Marquess located? We've all heard the words from Her Majesty the Queen." Viscount August.

"We beg the Queen to persuade His Majesty the King to remarry." He added while slightly bowing his body.

Queen Roseline laughed.

"The king is not a child that I should persuade. Instead of you busy organizing our household and love affairs, it is much better if you focus on your work and your fate. Because there are still many lists of nobles and officials who are in the custody of the soldiers of His Majesty the King, including you, Viscount August."

The viscount instantly widened his eyes and his face looked tense. Queen Roseline immediately stepped down from the throne. Everyone looked down to pay respect. Queen Roseline breezed away followed by Marquess Andry and Felix. All the nobles and royal officials immediately disbanded to obliterate their fate. They are worried that the fraud they have committed will also be exposed. Duke Sullivan took his foot into the queen's palace. There were many things the Duke wanted to ask his daughter.

King Alec was furious when Marquess Filan read out reports of various frauds and crimes committed by his nobles and royal officials.

"Less aj*r! How dare they play me!" Said King Alec with an angry face and clenched his hands.

"Please hold back Your Majesty's emotions. Your Majesty has just recovered." Doctor Ma.

"Tabib Ma is right, Your Majesty. It's currently the Queen and Marquess Andry who are dealing with those criminals." The Marquess Filan.

King Alec closed his eyes. In his heart he was even more regretful for always suspecting the Queen's actions. In fact, all that the Queen did outside the palace was to expose the evil of those in the government.

"I'm so sorry Roseline." Inner King Alec.

"How is the Queen, tabin Ma?" Ask King Alec.

"The Queen's condition is improving, Your Majesty. The poison in the Queen's body had already come out, thanks to drinking black rose extract." Answer Physician Ma.

"Thank God." Ogre King Alec with a smile.

"I'm still curious, how can the Queen take Her Majesty's medicine?" The Marquess Filan.

"Hamba is also curious, Marquess." The physician Ma.

King Alec's face immediately flushed to his ear, when he remembered the moment how the Queen had given him the antidote.

"Your Majesty!" Shouted Marquess Filan disperse the reverie of King Alec.

"Is Your Majesty sick again? Or maybe His Majesty is feeling hot? His Majesty's face and ears are flushed." Marquess Filan asked worriedly.

"Ekhm!"

"I-I'm fine. I was tired and wanted to sleep. Don't let anyone come in and bother me, except Mom and Queen." Queen Alec.

Marquess Filan and healer Ma nodded. The two immediately walked out of King Alec's room. King Alec touched his lips while smiling.
