Chapters 30. I'll Be Your Shield

King Alec and Queen Roseline arrive at the Queen Mother's palace. The servants were greatly shocked by the arrival of their two maids who ran over with tense faces. King Alec directly barged into Empress Dowager Helene's room.

"Mother!" Shouted King Alec.

"My son, Seline." Suri's mother was confused.

Suri Helene's mother gasped. King Alec immediately took the glass that was still on his mother's table and threw the water into the bowl.

"The waiter gets me a lemon!" Shouted King Alec.

"What is this, my son? Why are you throwing away mom's medicine?" Ask Queen Mother Helene.

"I'm sorry mom. I want to make sure this drug doesn't have any poison." Answer King Alec.

"What did you say? Toxins?" Suri Helene's mother looks panicked.

"real mom. We will explain later. Let's calm down first." Said the Queen Roseline softly.

Shortly after, Marquess Filan took the lemon fruit from the maid and immediately dripped the water into the Queen Mother's medicine. There was tension on their faces. And after some time, their tense faces immediately softened.

"Thank God this medicine is not toxic." King Alec said in relief.

"What actually happened? Explain it to mom!" Ask Queen Mother Helene.

"We have news that someone wants to hurt Queen Roseline using her closest and dear ones. And Mom was the first person that came to our mind. Everyone knows that Mother's relationship with the Queen is very close, even like mother and child. We're afraid that it's Mother who's going to be targeted by the criminal." The Light of King Alec.

Empress Dowager Helene was shocked, then looked at Queen Roseline's face and hugged her.

"Calm down, kid. I'm sure the villain's plan won't work." Said Suri Helene's Mother.

"Thank you, Mother." Reply Queen Roseline.

Marquess Filan immediately threw away the medicine and asked the healer to make a new one in front of them.

"Please drink to me."

Suri Helene's mother immediately took the medicine until it was gone.

"Now Mom's resting. Seline and Her Majesty please allow yourself to step down first." Queen Roseline.

"All right." Suri Helene replied with a smile.

Although it was quite surprising, Empress Dowager Helene was very happy because her son and daughter-in-law could be as close as now. Queen Mother Helene hoped that there would be no more problems or bullies that would disturb their happiness.

King Alec and Queen Roseline walk out of the Queen Mother's palace and return to the queen's palace. Marquess Filan and Felix followed behind the two.

"Who do they want to hurt?" Marquess Filan asked breaking the silence.

"Eitherway. We have to think hard to guess it and foil their evil plans." Answer King Alec.

"Sister. Is the Queen Mother okay?" Ask Arabella.

When he saw King Alec and Queen Roseline entering the queen's palace, Arabella immediately ran towards them. Marquess Filan was quite stunned to see the appearance of Arabella who was clean. Dressed in the usual clothes used to come out of the palace with her hair dipped like a ponytail, Arabella looks very beautiful and charming.

"Mother Suri is fine, Ara. You better eat and then rest because your body must be tired." Queen Roseline.

"I'm fine, brother. After cleaning up, my body feels fresher. I can't calm down before we find the person who's going to be their target." Arabella.

Queen Roseline placed her hand on Arabella's shoulder with a smile. "Thank you, Ara."

Arabella smiled as well. But his smile immediately evaporated as both of his eyeballs looked at Marquess Filan's eyes.

"Are you looking around? Don't tell me you have a crush on me!" Jerky Arabella.

Marquess Filan flinched.

"What did you say? I don't want to be interested in what a fierce woman and bar-bar like you don't have grace. You're far from the kind of woman I want." Said Marquess Filan with a look of disdain.

"Thank God if I'm not your type. My life will always be peaceful because it can be far from a rude man like you. There are only a handful of good men in this world who are like my father, Felix, Dean, Brother Ramon and Uncle Sullivan."

Suddenly Arabella fell silent and widened her eyes. Queen Roseline can read Arabella's mind.

"Dad." Queen Roseline.

"Is there a Queen?" Ask King Alec.

"Felix, get my horse ready. We're going to Duke Sullivan's residence right now!" Queen Roseline's orders.

Felix immediately ran to prepare the horse. King Alec and Marquess Filan instantly understood.

"I'm coming, brother." Arabella said as she ran after Queen Roseline.

"Filan, tell Marquess Andry to guard the palace and also the Queen Mother's safety. I'll accompany the Queen to Duke Sullivan's residence."

King Alec immediately chases after Queen Roseline and climbs onto Queen Roseline's horse.

"What did your Majesty do?" Ask Queen Roseline.

"We go together. I'll show you a faster secret shortcut to Duke Sullivan's residence." Answer King Alec.

Queen Roseline said it was because the most important thing they could arrive at Duke Sullivan's residence quickly. King Alec leads their way to the back door of the palace that Queen Roseline used to use when going to Mount Goby. Marquess Filan had also sat on her horse and followed King Alec's entourage from behind.

"Oh my God, please take care of my father from their evil. In my real world, I have lost my father, mother and brother. And I don't want to lose my father and brother in this world. It's enough for my mother to take you." Please Queen Roseline in her heart accompanied by her tears that have been spilled.

King Alec's heart ached when he saw the tears of Queen Roseline who continued to fall.

After some time, they arrived at Duke Sullivan's residence. The guards were shocked to see their arrival.

The two did not reply and went straight into Duke Sullivan's mansion.

"Strict guard here. Don't let anyone in and out of this mansion, except Duke Ramon!" The Marquess Filan's.

"Dad! Daddy!" Call Queen Roseline anxious.

Queen Roseline had been searching every corner of the mansion, until she finally entered into Duke Sullivan's study on the second floor. Queen Roseline saw Duke Sullivan about to drink his tea.

"Dad!"

Duke Sullivan flinched and nearly dropped the cup he was holding.

"Don't drink, Dad."

"line. You come in here? And with His Majesty." Duke Sullivan asked confusedly.

Queen Roseline did not answer. He immediately snatched the cup containing the tea, making Duke Sullivan even more clueless.

"Felix!"

"What is this Seline?"

"Sincerely servant, Sire. What exactly is going on?" Duke Sullivan asked King Alec.

Duke Sullivan nodded obediently.

Felix entered with Marquess Filan with a lemon that had been split into two. Felix doused the tea water with lemon water. It didn't take long, the color of the tea in the cup turned pitch-black. Duke Sullivan opened his eyes. While King Alec clenched his hands firmly with his face's jaw hardened.

"Why has the color of the tea changed?" Duke Sullivan asked curiously.

Queen Roseline hugged her father tightly.

"Thank God for granting my prayers to protect my father." Lirih Queen Roseline.

Felix and Marquess Filan also breathed a sigh of relief because they arrived on time so bad things did not happen to Duke Sullivan.

"Now explain what really happened." Pinta Duke Sullivan's.

"There are people who want to betray and hurt the Queen through people who are loved by the Queen. This time the target is you, Duke Sullivan. Some have put harmful toxins in your tea that are colorless and also odorless. But if we give him lemon water, the poison will show its color." The Light of King Alec.

"Are you guys okay?" Duke Ramon asked with a worried face.

Queen Roseline immediately rushed into the arms of Duke Ramon.

"Are you okay, Seline?"

Duke Ramon extended his hands to the face of Queen Roseline.

"I'm good, Brother. And I'm grateful that dad and brother are okay, too." Answer Queen Roseline.

Duke Ramon smiled as he nodded. Then Duke Ramon saluted King Alec.

"Thank you, Your Majesty, for coming in time and saving my father." Duke Ramon.

"No need to thank you, Duke. You are the Queen's family which means my family too. Duke Sullivan is my father-in-law, which means he's also my father." Answer King Alec.

Queen Roseline's heart warmed to King Alec's words and she saw sincerity in the King's eyes.

Arabella entered the room with one hand grabbing the hair of a servant. Dean walked behind them. Arabella pushed the servant to the ground before King Alec and Queen Roseline. Everyone was surprised.

Before, when everyone was in Duke Sullivan's room, Arabella went around looking for the person who had given the poison. He was sure that the person would not leave quickly, as he definitely made sure that his efforts had been successful. And Arabella's efforts bore fruit. Arabella managed to catch the waiter.

"This is Brother, the rat that has put poison into Uncle Sullivan's tea." Arabella.

The waiter looked down with a frightened face, his body trembling as well.

"Less aj@r! How dare you try to poison my father. I'm gonna kill you!" Shouted Duke Ramon.

The waiter felt his pocket and took out a small bottle, and would drink the liquid inside. Queen Roseline quickly pushed him down so that the bottle slipped from the servant's hand. Even Queen Roseline's kick hit the maid's face.

Queen Roseline covered the maid's face and pressed down hard, making the maid grimace in pain. "You can't die that easily. Now tell me who told you to?"

"Better let me die, Queen." Answer the waiter.

"Such a damn you!" Jerk Arabella while pulling the servant's hair so that his face is raised upwards.

"I-I'm just a man. Please let me die." Said the waiter grimacing in pain.

"Deans. Take this waitress to our base. Torture him and make him confess!" Duke Ramon's orders.

Dean immediately took the maid out of Duke Sullivan's room.

"It's dark, you'd better stay here, Seline with His Majesty. Marquess Filan as well." Duke Sullivan.

"No need for Dad. We must return to the palace." Answer Queen Roseline.

"No Queen. We're staying here tonight." King Alec's.

"What about the palace, Sire?" Ask Queen Roseline.

"You don't have to worry. Marquess Andry and General Azel, along with their men, were on guard at the palace at this time. I've also put shadow warriors to watch over the Queen Mother's palace. We'd better spend the night and rest here because the Queen's body still hurts." Answer King Alec.

Queen Roseline nodded in agreement. Truthfully his body was still weak right now. Duke Sullivan and Duke Ramon are delighted that Queen Roseline is staying overnight in their mansion.

King Alec goes into Queen Roseline's room after cleaning himself up. King Alec walks towards the balcony of the room and sees Queen Roseline standing behind him. King Alec notices Queen Roseline's shoulder moving a sign that the Queen is crying. King Alec touched his shoulder.

"Relax Queen. Don't worry anymore. Your father and brother will be fine. I will order the palace soldiers to tighten the guard here." Said King Alec softly.

Queen Roseline turns her body around and confronts King Alec. King Alec gently wiped away his tears.

"Don't cry anymore. I promise, I will be your shield that will always protect you and your family."

Queen Roseline looked into King Alec's eyes. Queen Roseline embraced King Alec's gallant body and buried her face in the chest of that field.

"Thank you, Sire." Sluggishly.

King Alec smiled happily, then unraveled their embrace.

"No need to thank the Queen, it has become my duty and duty as your husband."

Both of their faces were very close together, so Queen Roseline could feel the warm gusts of King Alec's breath. I don't know who started first, but their two lips are already interlocked and sip each other's taste and tenderness in it. King Alec's hand pulls Queen Roseline's waist and nape the Queen's neck. King Alec further deepened their ci***n making both bodies even more burned.

Queen Roseline widened her eyes and pushed the body of King Alec. The faces of the two instantly flushed with shame mixed with passion that had been blazed.

"His Majesty should rest. The servant will also rest because the servant's stomach still hurts."

Queen Roseline immediately entered the room with a reddened face. King Alec patted his forehead. She just remembered that Queen Roseline is having a monthly guest.
