The Hospital Owner's Wife

Dave approached his wife's bed, looking at Alea in his arms. A faint smile fell on the corner of his lips. He lowered his head then briefly dyed Alea's cheeks then grabbed his wife's forehead. "Wake up baby." Dave whispered in Jeslyn's ear so as not to wake Alea who seemed to be soundly asleep.

The sound that tickled her ears and the gentle breath that hit her cheek made Jeslyn slowly open her eyes. "Wake up baby..Soon there will be a doctor coming to check on you" Dave said when he saw his wife's confused face.

Jeslyn looked back for a moment at Alea who was still asleep next to her, after which she turned to Dave. Jeslyn tries to get up aided by Dave. "Dave, let Maya keep me here. You can get tired later."

Jeslyn just doesn't want to be blamed again by Dave's mother for making her son ignore the office. He also does not want to if until Dave is tired of taking care of him.

"No. I'll stay here. If I'm tired, I can rest in that bed" pointed Dave at the bed not far from Jeslyn's bed.

"Tock..Geck.." Doctor Roby came in after knocking on the door. He looks up to Jeslyn and Dave. Slowly Dave shifts his body so that Roby's doctor can examine him. "What are you feeling right now, Jes?" ask Roby's doctor when he's next to Jeslyn. Because they were friends, Roby immediately called the name Jeslyn.

"I feel pain and pain in my ankle. I'm a little dizzy too."

"All right, I'll check on you for a second." Roby's doctor began to examine Jeslyn, especially on the broken leg. After he finished examining her, Roby gave Jeslyn the medicine. "I'll do another check later. "We'll see if your legs are still swollen and bruised, otherwise I'll put a cast or leg brace on your leg" Dr Roby said.

"All right."

"So Dion to my room. He asked for your medical report. He'll do his check on you, too. It seems like he's worried about you a lot" Roby said, staring at Jeslyn.  

Dave was silent. He did not make any comment. Dave's face seemed to change immediately, it seemed that he did not like the words he had just heard from Doter Roby.

Jeslyn smiled awkwardly. He glances at Dave, fearing that Dave will misunderstand him again. "All right."

Dave looked at Dr. Roby. "Is there no doctor other than Dion who can examine my wife?"

Doctor Roby turned to Dave quickly. "Wife..?" ask the doctor Roby who has turned to look at Jeslyn.

"Yeah.. She's my wife. I don't like it when Dion's doctor checks on my wife" Dave said.

Doctor Roby looked at Jeslyn with one eyebrow raised to confirm Dave's words. "Yeah Rob, he's my husband."

Doctor Roby's eyeballs instantly grew. She did not expect that Jeslyn was the wife of the owner of the hospital where she worked. All this time all she knew was that Jesyn had a special relationship with Dion's doctor like rumors circulating in the hospital.

"Sorry Mr. Dave, I didn't know that Doctor Jeslyn was your wife." Instantly felt bad because it had become familiar with Jeslyn, moreover, he had mentioned about Dion.

"Hhhmm," Dave murmured, "can there be another doctor who can replace Dion's doctor?" Dave seems still unwilling if his wife is examined by his love rival. He doesn't want Dion touching his wife.

"There is, but Dion's doctor is the best doctor in this hospital. I think it's better that Doctor Jeslyn be examined by Dr. Dion."

Jeslyn was silent. He accidentally did not open his voice for fear of arguing again with Dave because of Dion's problem. "alright..I get it." Dave used to dislike things related to Dion.

"After this, further examination and installation of casts will be carried out on the legs of the doctor Jeslyn, sir. I'll ask the nurse later here to pick up Jeslyn's doctor."

"All right."

"I'll excuse you, sir, then" Roby told Dave.

"Thank you Rob" said Jeslyn, smiling at Roby's doctor. "Yeah." Yeah." Doctor Roby then walks out of Jeslyn's room.

"Do you always smile like that at other men at work?" Dave doesn't seem to like seeing his wife smile at Roby's doctor, even if it's a friend of his. "Dave, he's my friend, don't think no."

"I don't want Dion to check on you" Dave said, displaying an unhappy face.

"Dave, then who's gonna check on me if it's not him? No female neurologist, all male Dave. It'd be better if Dion checked me out."

"Daddy," called Alea when she had just opened her eyes. Alea wakes up to hear Jeslyn and Dave arguing. "Look, baby" answered Dave quickly.

Dave helps Alea to wake up. "Where's mommy?" Alea seemed to rub his eyes to clarify his vision.

"Mommy hasn't come yet baby" said Dave gently as he stroked his head.

Jeslyn tilted her head looking at Alea. "Is Alea hungry?" asked Jeslyn softly.

Dave leaned his body. "alright.. Alea wait here with Mama. Daddy's going to buy Alea some food."

"Yeah." Yeah."

"Darling, please take care of Alea for a while," Dave asked as he looked at his wife. Jelsyn looked just nodding.

After Dave's departure, Jeslyn appears to have Alea talking. At first Alea looked timid.over time she started to get used to it and was not awkward anymore.

It didn't take long, Dave had already returned to bring food for Alea. "Honey, eat first" said Dave while opening the food he bought earlier.

Alea nodded with a smile. "Let me feed him Dave. You better eat too. I know you haven't eaten, right?"

Dave had not eaten in the morning. His mind was always on Jeslyn. "I've asked Zayn to buy it for both of us. We'll eat together."

"alright. Give it to me." Jeslyn reached out to take the food that was in Dave's hand.

Dave was doubtful. "But your hand is still hurt, baby."

"Dave, the one who was injured was my left hand. I can bribe him with my right hand."

"All right." Dave finally gave his food to Jeslyn. Jeslyn painstakingly fed Alea. After finishing feeding Alea. Dave helps Jeslyn to go to the bathroom.

Not long after that, the nurse came to take Jeslyn to do an examination before installing a cast on his leg. Dion's doctor will also perform a nerve-related examination.

While Dave waited in Jeslyn's room with Alea. "Dave," call Stella when she just walked into Jeslyn's room.

"Your business is done?" dave asked when he saw Stella walking towards him.

"Hhmm," Stella muttered as she nodded. "Jeslyn where are you going?"

"With examination."

"Stella sat next to Alea. "Mommy where have you been?" asked Alea with a pouting face.

Stella hugged Alea. "Sorry baby.. Mommy's got important business. Was Alea naughty just now?"

"No Mommy," Alea replied while shaking her head.

Stella then turns to Dave. "Have you explained to Jeslyn?"

"Yet. Tomorrow only. I don't want him to lose anything for now."

"Did she bring up the divorce papers I gave her?"

"Yeah,"

"Then?"

"I haven't explained it yet. I told him I'd tell him everything tomorrow."

"Is he still angry with me?" ask Stella.

"I don't know either, Jeslyn rarely shows me her emotions. So I don't know what he's thinking right now."

Jeslyn harbored his feelings more often. Dave sometimes doesn't understand his wife's way of thinking.

"Dave, we better be honest with Jeslyn now. I don't want this to get complicated later."

"Yes." Yeah."
