Chapter 17: Watch out

Arsenio's forehead wrinkled to see Ferdian thrusting a glass of drink at her.

Arsenio was astonished by Ferdian's good attitude as the other team leaders in the project.

Arsenio did not just accept the glass that Ferdian had thrust on her. He thought for a moment would accept or not the glass.

Ferdian again moved his hand closer in front of Arsenio so that Arsenio would accept him.

All eyes looked at him. In his heart he said,

Bizarrely. Why is Ferdian suddenly nice to me? But if I don't accept this glass, surely everyone will wonder why I refused it.

Arsenio's hand moved to take the glass. It was obvious that he was hesitating at the time of accepting it.

Ferdian smiled as Arsenio received the glass. Then he said,

"drink. It's an honor for our team if you spend that drink."

All the eyes in the room were still watching him. He can't refuse anymore. In his heart prayed that nothing would happen to him after drinking the drink.

The giver of the drink who became Ferdian's assistant hoped that Ferdian would not know what happened. He smiled confidently so that Ferdian did not suspect him.

Arsenio sipped a little of the drink. He felt uneasy with Ferdian's smile and his assistant looking towards him.

However, the jokes and chatter of everyone in the room made him slightly forget his worries.

After a while, Ferdian started to get anxious. He looked at his assistant and asked through his eyes. 

The assistant knew what Ferdian was asking him. He moved closer to Ferdian and whispered to him.

"I don't know what's going on. But there didn't seem to be any reaction to her."

Ferdian stared intently at his assistant. Then he whispered to her.

"Are you sure you've mixed the medicine into the drink?"

The man who was his assistant nodded with confidence. In his heart he said,

Sorry I lied. The drug is gone, somewhere. Did it fall out of my pocket when I was in the toilet? I hope he doesn't know if I'm lying.

Rena has already launched her action. He sat down near Arsenio and always stuck to her. Even many times Arsenio a little away from him, unfortunately Rena does not want to give up. He still approached Arsenio and tried to always stick to her.

Ferdian looked in annoyance at Arsenio who still did not react to anything after sipping the drink given by him. Even almost an hour had passed, Arsenio was still in the same state as before.

In a different room, Laura went back to eating her food and poured alcohol on everyone who wanted to be poured by her.

That's how it is. As a variety show presenter who is already three heads old, she must maintain good relations with all her co-workers. Especially the director and all his bosses. 

He had to obey all their orders in order to stay on the show. Although all this time he had never made a mistake, he had to remain vigilant and had to convince everyone that he still deserved to be in his current position.

Until now Laura struggled to do all her skills in guiding the event. If he can't, he will learn and try to do it. And will not give a bad impression on the event he guided.

As the director ordered today. He was required to be able to do dance-style girl groups that will be their guest stars. And Laura was trying to do it by practicing on a reliable choreographer she knew.

"We have to stay here tonight. The company has booked a room for all of us. You arrange the room and divide it as usual" Anto said after sipping a drink.

Laura widened her eyes hearing the director's words. He did not expect that there would be another surprise on this very tiring day.

"Sorry sir, can't I just go home?" asked Laura with a little nod to the director.

Anto looked at Laura with her flat face while saying,

"It's not so sir, it's just me–"

"If you're not here, then who will be driving the show? We'll do early morning filming. Do I need to be the presenter because the main presenter is sleeping at home?" sahut Anto who seemed to insinuate Laura.

Laura lowered her head and showed her regret while saying,

"sorry. I don't think there's a filming schedule here."

Anto cleared his throat to respond to Laura's apology. Then he said,

"For those who want to rest, please rest now. Use the best time possible to rest before our solid activities later."

Laura moved from her seat. He came out of the room with some of his colleagues who wanted to rest in their room. Some are still in the room to spend their drinks together.

Outside her room, Laura stood up and was busy with her phone. Laura contacted her husband to inform him that she had to stay at the resort.

Arsenio was uncomfortable when she was about to receive a call from Laura. Rena still sticks to him. Even he saw Arsenio's phone when he was going to answer the phone that came from Laura.

Rena pressed her hand against Arsenio's arm when she found out his wife was contacting him.

Arsenio threw Rena's hand and she immediately moved from her seat to get out of the room to answer a phone call from her wife.

However, Rena still did not want to let go. Even he moved away from his seat and intended to follow Arsenio.

Unfortunately it can't happen. Arsenio immediately stopped her movements.

"Stop! Don't follow me!" arsenio said firmly while pointing her open palm towards Rena to stop her.

Rena sat back down. He felt ashamed to follow Arsenio. He could only grumble in his heart.

Arsenio walked out of her room. He saw his wife who was waiting for him not far from the front of his room.

He approached his wife and asked when she was in front of him.

"What's wrong? Is it time to go home?" 

Laura sighed which sounded so tired. Then he said,

"I'll have to spend the night here. Early in the day there will be filming here."

Arsenio scrunched her forehead. His eyes looked suspicious of his wife. Then he said,

"Yes already. I'll stay here with you."

Arsenio felt strange at his wife's current reaction. Laura's eyes sparkled at the words of her husband who said he would stay at the place with her tonight.

Both of Laura's hands pulled out her husband's hands while saying,

"I'm going to ask you to stay here. Let's go to the room now. My body is so tired."

Without a second thought, Arsenio followed his wife. He looked at the hand of his wife who was holding him at this moment. She felt strange as she was still thinking about what Rendi said about Laura being together with Ferdian's assistant.

If it's true what Rendi said, then why did Laura ask me to stay in her room? Was he just playing? I need to find out now. I will watch Laura's every move in this place, Arsenio said in her heart.

Ferdian's assistant came out of the room to go to the toilet to look for bottles of drugs that would be mixed in Arsenio drinks. Following with Rena who also said to go to the toilet after the man came out of the room.

"Actually where is he? Why isn't he anywhere?" ask Rena to the man.
