Chapter 34: Birthday

Laura's footsteps stopped because they were being pushed away by someone. He looked lazy at the guy. A woman who is no stranger to him even though she has only met him once.

"Hi, do you still remember me?" greet the woman to Laura by presenting her smile made as sweet as possible.

Laura seemed to think. He grinned while saying,

"I'm sorry, but I don't remember. Have we met?"

The smile of the woman disappeared. He looked resentfully at Laura and extended his hand saying,

"I'm Kessy, Arsenio's ex-girlfriend. We met at the restaurant that night."

Laura's chest rumbled to hear the woman who claimed to be named Kessy was reminding her of her status as Arsenio's ex-boyfriend. In his heart he said,

Even though I was just pretending that I didn't know him, it turned out that he was more cunning than me. What's so great about being an ex-girlfriend? Wouldn't it be better to be a wife? 

Laura returned Kessy's smile, but she did not want to extend her hand to shake her hand.

Instead of shaking Kessy's hand, Laura shows off the PS5 box shown by Laura by raising the box with both hands to show Kessy that she can't shake her hand.

Kessy grinned at Laura who looked unwilling to shake hands at her. In his heart he said,

He had only taken her with one hand, and now he was carrying her with both hands. He could also put it down first so he could shake my hand, but he didn't. He doesn't want to shake hands with me. Look what I'm doing later.

"Sorry, I'll go first. My husband is waiting for me" said Laura, smiling sweetly at Kessy, who was still standing in front of him.

"It's smart of you to seduce Arsenio by giving her that thing," Kessy said, grinning to let go of Laura walking past her. 

Laura stopped her steps. He turned his body towards Kessy and said,

"Who do you think this is for? I bought this for the man I love."

After saying that, Laura immediately left Kessy who was still dumbfounded at her words.

Laura smiled triumphantly as she walked away from Kessy. He was very satisfied to see Kessy's face being stunned by it.

As for Kessy, she grinned after coming to her senses from her astonishment. Then he said,

"I'll tell Arsenio. Just look at it later."

He took the phone from his bag and he was busy fiddling with the phone. After a while, he smiled in satisfaction and said,

"We'll see how I work."

In her car, Laura told her husband. She took her husband to the top. 

"I have to speed things up so I can finish quickly" Laura muttered as she sent a message to her husband.

Then he looked to the side. There he saw the box that read PS5 on the side seat.

"I can get my money back when my mission has been completed in exchange for the money I used to buy the item" Laura muttered again with a sigh.

After that, he drove his car alone. She turned to the park to just relax there while waiting for a reply from her husband.

Laura looked at her phone that had no message from her husband. A little annoyed, he said,

"Maybe he's busy right now."

He again busied himself by giving food to the fish in the garden pond. His loneliness is starting to feel. No child or husband who accompanied her made Laura busy herself with work.

In his office, Arsenio was busy responding to birthday wishes from everyone. She ordered a lot of food for all of them as a celebration of her birthday and a thank you for the birthday they gave her.

Suddenly Alberto came to him by introducing someone to Arsenio.

Arsenio's eyes widened to see the figure of the woman standing next to Alberto. The woman smiled sweetly and blinked one eye at Arsenio.

"What for, sir? It doesn't seem like I need it" Arsenio said clumsily.

"Don't do it sir. I'm sure you need it most. You two are so great. I'm sure you two work very well together" Alberto said, patting Arsenio on the shoulder.

Kessy, Alberto's niece, moved. Now he was near Arsenio, wrapping his hands around Arsenio's arms and struggling spoiledly with her, saying,

"Just calm Om, we will definitely be a couple that Om can be proud of. We both know each other very well, so Om doesn't have to worry anymore."

Everyone looked towards them. Their attention was all on Arsenio and Kessy who looked so friendly.

"It seems like I don't have to worry" Alberto chuckled.

Arsenio was uncomfortable at this moment. All eyes were pointing at him. He tried to let go of Kessy's hand that was struggling spoiled on him. But he was sorry for Alberto who was still in front of him.

"It's a lot, it looks like there's a celebration" Alberto said, looking around.

"Pak Arsenio is having a birthday sir" said Rendi, who is not far from Arsenio.

"Well, what a coincidence. How about the three of us eat out to celebrate Mr. Arsenio's birthday?" alberto asked Arsenio and Kessy.

"Agree Om. Let's go now, let's take another lunch hour" said Kessy with great enthusiasm.

Arsenio could not resist. He could only give in to his current state.

The three of them walked out of the room with Kessy still holding Arsenio's friendly hand. He smiled happily as his plan succeeded without having to bother. He also did not want to just release his hand on Arsenio's hand.

Suddenly Arsenio remembered that she had not brought a car. At that moment he said, too,

"Sorry sir, I didn't bring my car today."

Alberto turned his head towards Arsenio who was walking beside him. Then he said,

"No problem, the three of us just got in my car."

"Kessy also brought Om. Better Kessy and Arsenio ride in Kessy's car only Om," said Kessy who still wrestled spoiled in the hands of Arsenio.

"It's not good if we're just the two of us. It's better to be with Mr. Alberto alone" Arsenio said in response to Kessy's remarks.

Kessy brought her lips closer to Arsenio's ears and whispered to her,

"Don't worry about your wife. We better have some fun. I just met him. He bought a PS5 at the Mall. And he told me he'd give it to the man he loved. And I'm sure it wasn't you, because he didn't say your name. I will give you a more precious gift. Just relax."

Alberto smiled at Kessy who looked very happy together with Arsenio. He only tried to please his nephew by granting his request.

The three of them actually left in Alberto's car. Arsenio will sit in front, next to the driver. Unfortunately, Kessy did not want to get away from him. He forced Arsenio to sit in the back seat.

Alberto chuckled at the behavior of his nephew. He sat in the front seat with his driver in order to yield to his nephew who was sitting affectionately in the back seat along with Arsenio.

Arriving at the intended restaurant, Kessy sat side by side with Arsenio. Alberto sat in front of the two of them.

Unbeknownst to them, there was a pair of eyes watching them. The person stared in annoyance with his overflowing anger looking at him.

"What are they doing?" muttered the man with anger.
