Chapter 2: Tied by the system
The atmosphere in the dining room was very quiet. Only the clinking of spoons and forks clashed with plates at that moment.
Laura ate voraciously and ignored Arsenio sitting in front of her.
Every time Arsenio ate his food, his eyes always looked at his wife. He wanted to say something to his wife, only that he was afraid that she would go back to the table.
Laura knew that Arsenio was watching her. But, she remained firm in her stance to ignore her husband.
After a while they ate silently, Laura crossed her spoon and fork on the plate. He took a glass containing water beside him and immediately drank it.
Everything was done quickly to quickly finish and return to his room.
However, when he had just stepped up from his seat, Arsenio's voice stopped him.
"I'll give it back tomorrow. Please allow me to just play it tonight" Arsenio said with a tearful face to his wife.
Laura sat back in her chair. She stared at the bead in her husband's eyes as she said,
"What is the guarantee if tomorrow the item is still here?"
Arsenio's face stiffened. He felt that his wife was very terrible at this moment. With a look of his anger it was able to make Arsenio's guts shrink.
"If tomorrow the item is still here, I'll get rid of it" Laura said firmly.
After that he stood up from his seat and walked into his room leaving Arsenio who was still pecking at his seat.
Arsenio ruffled her hair in frustration. He's really confused right now.
"Ah, don't know, dizzy. Go play now first. Who knows, suddenly there will be a way," grumbled Arsenio while standing from her seat.
He immediately walked quickly towards the living room, where the room was used for watching television.
As if forgetting the problems he faced, Arsenio smiled happily playing the game.
For hours he played almost all the games on the game console.
He looked towards the wall clock hanging on the wall of the room.
"It's one in the morning. My eyes are very heavy. I'd better end it for today. Tomorrow I will play it again" said Arsenio, rubbing her eyes and yawning.
He immediately stood up from his seat. For a moment he was silent. After that he immediately put the PS5 game console he played earlier in his box.
With a quick step, Arsenio brought the box containing the PS5 to the warehouse.
"It looks like it will be safer to just put it here," Arsenio said after putting the box containing the PS5 on a pile of cardboard and covering it with some used curtain cloth that has been unused.
Arsenio's lips curved upwards when she saw the box of her game console hidden perfectly. Then he said,
"I have to buy a television to play it here."
After that, he came out of the room and walked to his room. The move of the room door handle repeatedly, but in fact the door of the room can not open.
Laura completely locked the door of the room from the inside. Arsenio scratched her head and ruffled her hair violently. So it looks like he's so frustrated at the moment.
Even his current sighs showed the enormity of the situation he was facing.
"It looks like I really should sleep here tonight" Arsenio said, laying down on the sofa in the living room.
He closed his eyes to pick up his dream.
The next day, as usual, Laura prepared breakfast by serving only fresh bread that had been smeared with peanut butter.
She felt annoyed at her husband for not taking care of their food last night. Everything was still at the dining table, just like the time he left the dining table after finishing dinner.
However, she just kept quiet because she was too lazy to argue with her husband. And she also did not want to ruin her morning mood by yelling at her husband who never wanted to understand his wife.
After that they both went to work together using a car brought by Arsenio. As usual, Arsenio escorted Laura to her office.
Their car is just one. Therefore they agreed if the car was used by Arsenio on the grounds that Arsenio needed it more.
Arsenio is a private employee who is engaged in advertising, so she needs a vehicle to be more flexible in working.
"Remember your promise. If you deny it, you'll know the consequences" Laura threatened to take off her seatbelt after the car stopped right in front of her workplace.
Arsenio sighed after his wife closed the car door. In his heart he said,
Now who do I need to borrow money from?
Suddenly a message was heard from his phone. He immediately took the phone out of his pocket.
Beeeps…
There was a horn coming from the back of the car. He returned the phone to his pocket and immediately drove forward after seeing another car behind him.
Now Arsenio cars are on the side of the road that are allowed for vehicles to stop. He took his cell phone out of his pocket and read it.
At once Arsenio's lips expanded when reading the message. His smile signified the happiness of his heart at this moment.
He immediately drove his car somewhere. After a while, now his car is in the parking lot of an office that will help him to be free from his wife's sentence.
"Good morning sir, how can I help you?" greet a man who is in front of Arsenio at this time.
"I'll borrow money. Can it?" arsenio replied with a solemn look at the person before her.
It turned out that Arsenio was now in a bank lending funds after she read a message advertising a loan of funds for their customers.
Armed with a home certificate as collateral for his current loan, Arsenio managed to get the money and deposit it back on the savings devoted to their child.
"Current, safe. Now there will be no more hassles that I face," said Arsenio confidently.
In the afternoon, Laura got word from the hospital about her mother's condition which suddenly worsened.
Laura immediately went to the hospital and rushed to her mother's room.
"I'm sorry, we've tried our best. Unfortunately God wants something else. We are deeply saddened" said a man wearing a white coat with a doctor's inscription on his name tag.
Instantly Laura's body was limp as if boneless. His heart could not accept his mother's departure. Her tears just came out without her consent.
His world instantly collapsed at this moment. He sobbed with an apology addressed to his mother.
"Mother.s sorry Mom.I'm sorry Laura can't help Mom. Please forgive Laura Ma'am. Forgive your useless son" Laura said in her tears.
Laura contacted her husband many times, unfortunately all those phone calls just ended up being missed calls.
Laura's heart aches even more considering her husband who does not want to help her mother's surgery costs. Remembering about it made Laura think of her husband's gaming console.
After the funeral procession was completed in the absence of her husband, Laura was helped by her mother's neighbors because she did not have any siblings, so no one could help her.
Laura's legs are heavy. He entered his house with a messy appearance and his puffy face.
He immediately cleaned his body and changed clothes. Honestly, he is very upset at the moment. He could not stop blaming himself for his mother's death.
"I have to keep this shirt. I don't want to wear it anymore. I'll see it when I miss Mom" Laura said, putting the shirt on when she met her mother for the last time.
The inclusion of these clothes in an empty box and immediately took him to his home warehouse.
"Why are these curtains scattered here? Isn't it usually neatly folded?" laura asked the monologue when she saw some curtains covering the pile of boxes in the warehouse.
His hands moved quickly tidying up all the curtains. Instantly his eyes widened when he saw the game console box that read 'PS5' among the stack of boxes.
Laura took the box and opened it. His blood was boiling when he saw what was in the box.
"Darling..I'm home!"
Arsenio's voice called for his wife.
"I can't take it anymore. I'd better break up with him!" laura said with her teeth tightened to hold back her anger.
He immediately moved from where he was. Suddenly his footsteps stopped when in front of him there was a floating panel and said something there.
"Do I have to do it?" laura muttered as her hand touched the transparent panel floating in front of her.
