Chapter 61: Empty Hope

Laura sat down in front of Ryan enjoying their lunch. He really felt lucky and was greatly appreciated by his boss.

Laura looked at all the dishes before her. He smiled faintly as he chewed his food. In his heart he said,

Had my husband treated me like this, it would have been more fun.

Ryan stole a glance at Laura who was in front of him. He enjoyed the food as if he had not noticed it.

"Do you like all of this Laura's food?" ryan asked after swallowing his food.

Laura turned her gaze from her plate on Ryan who was in front of her. Then he smiled and said,

"I like it very much, sir. I feel like this is too fancy for me. Thank you sir for all your kindness."

Laura's eyes glazed over. Somehow she felt moved and very happy getting the attention she so desperately wanted from her husband.

Ryan felt sorry to see Laura who he thought was suffering so much from living with Arsenio. According to the person he was assigned to investigate about Arsenio said that Arsenio used his wife to pay off his debts and used his wife to get the RAZ company to cooperate with him.

Not only that. He also gets a lot of information about Arsenio, making it easier for Ryan to help Laura. And of course she also gets a report about Laura's hard work during this time as Arsenio's wife and her hard work at work.

"After this we go back to the office" Ryan said after sipping his drink.

Laura looked confusedly at Ryan as if there was a question she wanted to convey.

"What's up Laura? I know if you want to ask me something" Ryan asked as he continued eating.

Laura's eyes were opened. He moved his body forward and looked at Ryan with a look of wonder as he said,

"Do you know?" 

Ryan chuckled at the question from Laura accompanied by her extremely adorable expression. He also said,

"Sight from your eyes."

Laura also pulled her body back. He went back to eating.

"What's up Laura? Just ask, do not need to be harbored," said Ryan in between the chewing of his meal.

"No Sir. I'm just confused. Didn't you say that we were going to continue what we were going to do? I'm just confused, what exactly did we do? And now you say if after this we'll go back to the office. Sorry sir I'm confused" Laura said with a faint smile at Ryan who was looking at her while listening to her.

Ryan smiled at what Laura said. He stopped eating and said,

"Forgot just my word. Just enjoy the food. And all this has to end. I don't want the food I buy to be redundant."

Laura's eyes were wide again. He stared at all the food in front of him as he swallowed his saliva. Then he said doubtfully,

"Can I spend it, sir?"

Ryan smiled and nodded his head as he said,

"It can."

"Alright sir, we fought together to finish all this food" Laura said firmly.

"Well?!" ryan exclaimed with a look of disbelief if Laura dared to order it.

A second later, he smiled and resumed his meal. She felt completely comforted by Laura's presence which had already turned her lonely days into more colorful ones.

In his car, Arsenio felt uneasy. He is happy to work with RAZ, but he does not like Ryan who is always with Laura. Moreover, Arsenio knew that Ryan was staring in admiration at his wife.

"Arsenio, are you crazy?! Stopit! Let me drive!" kessy exclaims to stop Arsenio's anger venting her anger.

Arsenio pulled the car over and stopped him on the side of the road. His breath hunts with his fiery anger. He just kept quiet without saying anything to Kessy who was staring at him.

"We change places. Let me drive" Kessy said, unbending her seatbelt.

"No need. Let me drive it" said Arsenio who returned to drive the car.

Kessy sighed and she put her seatbelt back on. 

"Here you go, don't think of your cheating wife. You better have fun yourself. Don't be trampled by him. Reply to him, so that he knows if you can still live even without him," Kessy said while sitting with her hands folded in front of her chest.

"Shut up! Shut the fuck up or I'll drop you in the middle of the road!" arsenio exclaimed with her emotions hearing what Kessy said.

Kessy grinned in response to Arsenio's anger at her. In his heart he said,

Goody. You're angry because you believe me. Let's see how it goes.

On the way to the office, Kessy was silent. He just played his phone without talking or looking at Arsenio.

Arriving at the office, Arsenio immediately worked on his work and made a cooperation agreement with the RAZ company so that he quickly got money from Alberto.

After the cooperation agreement was completed, Arsenio immediately went to Alberto to show him.

Arsenio was in Alberto's room. He sat down opposite Alberto who was checking the letter of agreement with the RAZ company.

Alberto chuckled at the letter of the agreement. Then he looked at Arsenio who was in front of him and said,

"I didn't choose wrong. You're great Mr. Arsenio. You can conquer an iceberg that is very difficult to conquer by others."

Arsenio smiled in response to the praise from Alberto. He was about to ask about the money that Alberto had promised him. Unfortunately when his lips opened to ask him, Alberto first said something to him.

"Then, when was this cooperation agreement signed?" alberto asked while returning the map he read to Arsenio.

Arsenio received the map while answering Alberto's question to her.

"My plans are tomorrow, sir. Is there anything you might need to add, sir?"

"No. I trust you. Just do it as you normally would with other companies" Alberto replied with a smile on Arsenio.

Arsenio hesitated as she moved away from her seat. He felt sorry for Alberto when he would ask about Alberto's promise to him if he could work with the RAZ company.

Throw away your condolences that's Arsenio. Ask about the money so that you can pay off your debts immediately and so that your wife can immediately stop working from the company, Arsenio said in her heart to convince herself.

"Sorry sir, I may be asking you this. But I want to know, when the remaining money you promised me could be given? I really need it, sir" said Arsenio hesitated and stared intently at Alberto.

Alberto laughed at what Arsenio asked him. In between his laughter he said,

"The amount of money is very large Mr. Arsenio. I'll give it to you when this cooperation is successful and very satisfying."

Then when can I pay off all those debts that are getting more interest every day?! arsenio exclaimed in her heart to vent her anger that seemed to be being played by Alberto.

Arsenio's footsteps were heavy coming out of Alberto's room. He felt that everything he did was in vain. Even his hope of being able to get out of his problems immediately seemed to be lost in the wind with a flash.
