Chapter 73: One room

"How do we turn, sir? Aren't we going to the office?" laura asked the driver when she saw that the road was not the way to her office.

"We're going to Mr. Ryan's house first, ma'am" the driver replied, focusing on driving.

Why go to Ryan's house? Laura asked in her heart.

Suddenly Laura remembered something. He smiled faintly as he said in his heart,

If there was a driver, Mr. Ryan wouldn't have asked me to pick him up again. Soon my status as a chauffeur is over.

Arriving at Ryan's house, Laura immediately entered the house as usual.

"Good morning sir" said Laura as she approached Ryan.

Ryan put down his newspaper and folded it. Then he said,

"Let's have breakfast first. Looks like today we're going to do a lot of work."

As usual, Laura nodded her head and obeyed the order given by Ryan to her.

He sat down in front of Ryan and devoured the food that had been prepared for him.

Ryan held back his smile seeing Laura who was very greedy eating her food.

After they finished breakfast, Ryan immediately took Laura to the office.

"Let's go now" Ryan asked after seeing Laura was done with her food and drink.

"Well sir" Laura said in response to Ryan's remarks.

The two of them got up from their seats and walked towards the exit.

"For this morning let me drive it. You must still be tired of having to work on your day off," Ryan said as he opened the car door to let Laura into it.

Laura was shocked to hear what Ryan said. He just gawked and couldn't say anything back then.

"Laura! Laura! What was? Why are you daydreaming?" ryan asked as he moved Laura's shoulders.

Laura suddenly woke up. He smiled stiffly at Ryan and said,

"No Sir. There's nothing."

Ryan was in the driver's seat. Then he put on his seat belt and said,

"Don't worry. It's your turn to drive it back."

Instantly, Laura's movement wearing a seatbelt stopped when she heard Ryan's words. In his heart he grumbled,

I had guessed. He won't just drive his own car.

The car was driven by Ryan at medium speed to his office. 

As a good passenger, Laura just kept quiet so as not to disturb Ryan's concentration in driving. 

"Laura, was there any news from Mr. Arsenio about our meeting at that time?" ryan asked while driving the car.

Laura turned to Ryan. Then he said,

"Not Sir. Is there anything to tell her?" 

Ryan grinned. He stayed focused on his wheel and said,

"Leave it. They need them, not us. If they cancel it there's no loss for us either."

Laura looked confusedly at Ryan who was focusing on his wheel. In his heart he said,

What exactly does Mr Ryan mean? Why does it seem like working with Mas Arsenio is just like a joke or a game?

Ryan understood that Laura was looking at him. He just smiled thinly without saying anything.

Arriving at the office, the two of them immediately did their work. Exactly what Ryan said. Now they are both preoccupied with the number of their work that they must quickly complete in the appointed time.

Suddenly the phone on Ryan's desk rang. Ryan immediately raised it so that the sound of the phone ringing did not interfere with his concentration at work.

"Hello" said Ryan to the caller across the street.

Sorry sir, Mr. Arsenio from Surya Indah company wants to see Mr. said someone on the phone.

Ryan smirked at the name of Arsenio who came looking for him. Then he said,

"Send him into my room."

After that Ryan put down his phone and looked towards Laura while saying,

"Laura, please call the OB to make drinks for two."

"For whom, sir?" laura asked with a confused face.

Laura was confused because Ryan always told Laura to make her a drink because she did not want to make drinks by OB. And now all of a sudden the boss told him to call the OB to make a drink. 

"There are guests coming here. It looks like they'll be there soon" Ryan replied with a smile on Laura.

Without thinking any longer, Laura immediately contacted the pantry to make drinks for Ryan's guests.

Ryan's door was knocked by someone from the outside.

Ryan believes that the one who knocks on the door of the room is Arsenio. He quickly exclaimed,

"Lake in!"

The door of the room was open. Two people entered the room.

Arsenio and Kessy entered with a look of admiration at Ryan's large and luxurious room. Arsenio's eyes are now fixed on the name plaque engraved with the name of the owner, Ryan Arion Syahreza.

"Good morning Mr. Ryan. Sorry to interrupt the time. I came here just to follow up on our cooperation agreement yesterday" Arsenio said when he was in front of Arsenio.

Arsenio stood up from her seat and walked towards the sofa that was in the middle of her room. Then he said,

"Please sit down."

Arsenio walked towards the sofa. How surprised he was to see Laura, his wife was sitting in her work chair in the room.

Not only Arsenio was shocked to see Laura in the room. Kessy was surprised to see it. He grinned as Laura looked towards him.

Arsenio and Kessy were sitting in the chair in front of Ryan. They're busy pulling out the files they're going to show Ryan right now.

"Laura, come here" Ryan ordered Laura who was still sitting in her place.

Laura immediately sat down on the chair beside Ryan to accompany him as usual.

A look of annoyance adorned Arsenio's face at this moment. And again Kessy acted as if she knew what Arsenio was feeling. Kessy holds Arsenio's hand in order to calm her down.

However, in Laura and Ryan's eyes were different. They thought there was a love affair between Arsenio and Kessy other than their employment relationship.

Arsenio removed her hand from Kessy's. Then he gave the file he brought to Ryan and said,

"Please read it first, sir. Then you can sign it.

The sound of knocking on the door distracted them. Not long after that came the OB with two drinks for Arsenio and Kessy. After placing the drink, the OB immediately came out of the room.

"Please drink Sir. I'll read it first" Ryan said, taking the map.

Laura looked hatefully at Kessy who was smiling as if she was underestimating him. While Arsenio looked at his wife with various kinds of questions that he wanted to ask her.

After Ryan finished reading it, he immediately signed it and said,

"Show your hard work and creativity Mr. Arsenio. I'll look forward to it."

Then handed over the signed map to Arsenio and Arsenio received the map while extending his hand to shake hands with Ryan.

"Thank you for your trust, sir. I will work hard so that your company does not regret choosing us" Arsenio said as she shook hands with Ryan.

Ryan smiled and nodded his head. And he didn't say anything so Arsenio felt she should take a break with Ryan immediately.

"I'll excuse you, sir, then" Arsenio told Ryan.

"Good Sir. Go ahead" Ryan said, smiling at Arsenio.

For Arsenio, Ryan's smile bothered her a lot. He felt that Ryan's smile was mocking him. But he has to be professional in his job. He smiled back at Ryan and said,

"Thank you sir."

Arsenio immediately left the room after getting a nod from Ryan. Kessy followed Arsenio out of the room. He played no part in the meeting. He just accompanied Arsenio and just kept quiet throughout the meeting. 

Why didn't Laura take me out? Why is he silent as if he doesn't know me? Arsenio said in her heart as she walked towards the door of the room.

However, when Arsenio was already in the quarters and was about to close the door from the outside, he saw his wife was chuckling along with Ryan looking at the phone screen held by Ryan.

The insolent! Goddamnit! What are they doing?!
