Chapter 48: Luxury Gift

Arsenio was shocked to hear what his wife said. Really he did not think if Ryan would give a luxury car to his wife.

Now Arsenio's mind is getting more confused. He suspected there was another connection between his wife and Ryan. He saw his wife in the hotel with Ryan.

Without saying a word, Arsenio immediately went into her room and immediately cleaned her body inside the bathroom that was in her room.

He cools his head under a very heavy shower. The thought of his wife's relationship with the CEO of the RAZ company was very disturbing.

He wanted to forbid his wife to work for the company. Unfortunately, it can't be done. He needs money to pay his debts and more importantly, he needs the role of his wife to convince Ryan, who is the CEO of the RAZ company, to work with him.

Now the two of them were at the dining table and sitting opposite each other as usual. For a few moments they kept quiet. They are busy with their own thoughts.

"How's your job?" arsenio asked his wife after swallowing her food.

"good. I learned a lot there, ", Laura replied in between her chews.

Did I mention it if I asked about the one at the hotel earlier? Arsenio said in her heart.

Do I have to ask you now about her meeting with Kessy at the hotel? Laura asked in her heart.

"Emmm. Darling, it was at your hotel." Arsenio hung up.

He did not want to offend his wife out of fear that she would not help him to convince her boss to cooperate with him. But he also could not help his curiosity about what happened to his wife and boss.

Laura stopped eating. She understood the direction of her husband's conversation. She looked at her husband with a regretful look while saying,

"Why did Mas get to be with Kessy at that hotel?" 

Arsenio widened her eyes. He forgot the fact that Kessy was beside him when his wife met him.

"That's.we've just met the person who's going to work with the company," replied Arsenio nervously looking at his wife's look of disbelief.

Laura sighed who looked disappointed at her husband. But she refused to fight with her husband.

Which wife can be calm to see her husband join hands with his ex-girlfriend? And Laura as well. She could not calm down to see her husband together with Kessy. What else did he see Kessy who was struggling spoiled on Arsenio's arm.

"We also have a meeting with the CEO of the company who will work with our company" Laura said with an upset face.

"But why did you get out of the elevator? What's the meeting in–"

"His meeting was in a VVIP hotel room," Laura said regretfully without looking at her husband.

Suddenly Arsenio's eyes were opened. Now his body is limp, until his hand releases the spoon and fork he is holding.

"Hotel rooms? THE VVIP? What.. you guys..," Arsenio paused her words.

He was unable to finish his words which hurt his heart so much.

As if nothing had happened, Laura was still busy eating her food. She wanted to show her husband if he remained calm and unaffected by anything. Either by Kessy's presence or her husband's suspicions about his relationship with his boss.

"Don't think weird. I'm not like you guys who blatantly make out despite being in a public place. Even more so in front of me," said Laura who could no longer hold back her frustration.

"Why should I be with him? Besides who knows if you guys got into a hotel room not after I left the hotel first" said Laura as she moved from her seat.

Arsenio's eyes grew wide at what his wife had said. He did not expect that his wife would have such thoughts on him.

"Then what are you doing in that VVIP hotel room? Why don't you guys bring any files?" arsenio asked his wife who had walked into her room.

Laura's footsteps stopped. She grinned at the questions coming out of her husband's mouth. Without looking back where her husband was still sitting in the dining chair, she said,

"Because our files were brought by Mr. Ryan's secretary."

"Why could that be? Why don't you guys just come out at the same time?" ask Arsenio who can no longer stem his curiosity.

Laura turned her body and faced towards her husband. He grinned and said,

"Then, what about the loan money? Did you pay for everything?"

Arsenio's face changed. He lowered his head and said,

"Sir Alberto only gave ten percent. The rest will be given after I can cooperate with the RAZ company."

"What about your ex-girlfriend? Is being with him a condition of Mr Alberto?" laura asked while grinning at her husband.

"As you know, I can't change anything if Mr. Alberto rules. But I swear that there will be no relationship with him. Nothing will happen between us" replied Arsenio with great confidence to try to convince his wife.

Laura again grinned at what her husband said. Then he said,

"We'll prove it later."

After that Laura went into her room without waiting for her husband to respond to her remarks.

Inside her room, she again felt what she felt during the afternoon. Since meeting her husband at the hotel earlier, Laura's mind became erratic. It is very difficult to focus on his work. And only the shadow of Kessy who smiled mocking him by holding a friendly Arsenio, always imagined in the corner of his eyes.

It didn't feel like her tears just flooded her cheeks. Immediately both hands moved violently to remove the tears that brazenly came out without his permission.

"Why have I been so whiny lately? Why do I always shed tears for her? I have to hold on. I have to get through this. For the sake of everyone," Laura murmured with her increasingly swift tears drenching her cheeks.

Tired of her crying that never subsided, Laura immediately lay down and covered her body up to her entire face with a blanket. She did not want her husband to know her weakness.

Suddenly the door of the room opened. Arsenio went into her room. He stared at his sleeping wife's back.

He laid down his body very slowly and carefully so as not to disturb his wife. His eyes could not escape his wife who was on his back. In his heart he said,

I have to what now? Should I trust him and let him work there? But I really need his help.

Suddenly it flashed through Arsenio's mind something that could help her. In his heart he said again,

I think I should use it that way.
