ACT 3: Chapter 30 - Skill Effect
Ren walks absentmindedly in the village of Conia, a halfway village where they stop to rest. He was still unchanged from his last form, still wearing his robe with some battered here and there.
It was almost morning, but the village was not too crowded. There were a few guards who had woken up, but they seemed to not see what it was when Ren passed by.
"I have to go back." Ren whispered softly.
("Who should I go back to?") Ren had a contradiction in his heart, beginning to forget.
"I have to go home." Ren shook his head, trying to shake off the strange thoughts that were starting to come out in Ren's head.
("Where am I going?") again, he asked.
He was completely ignored by others, even the person who passed by him was unaware of his existence.
BUKK!!
"Eh?! I kind of hit something, but what?" a villager bumped into Ren, but only muttered in such a way as he scratched his head and turned his head back and forth.
Ren did not answer him, only stepping aside from the young man's path.
It was an oddity, but Ren didn't think about it.
"I have to go back home." whispered Ren again.
("But isn't the house destroyed?") Chief Ren still remembered the Eldergale incident that was fixated on his memory.
Ren continued to walk, towards the inn where he and his family were staying. She went up to the second floor, where her mother and sister's room were. He stood at the door, staring blankly.
"Is this a house?" Ren opened the door.
"I came home." and after saying so, Ren fell in the doorway.
The occupants of the room, Nina and Edna are shocked to see Ren falling at the door. Nina and Edna looked worried and immediately ran half-screaming towards Ren. Unlike Edna who helped him but a little confused.
"Rin! Ren!" Nina shook Ren, trying to wake him up.
"I-mom. Is this your acquaintance?" Edna asked with an empty face. He doesn't seem to know Ren. Nina was surprised, silent for a moment. But her tears did not stop. Even so, Edna still helps Nina to bring Ren to bed.
"It's Ren, Edna! No kidding! It's not funny!" nina shouted furiously.
"No, I don't know who Ren is. Have we met before? After all, I didn't even hear footsteps or feel her presence when she was outside. Is he an intruder? What is she-" said Edna cut off.
Nina slaps him, making a red mark on Edna's cheek. He was clearly furious, visible in his eyes that were glittering with his changed expression.
"He's Ren! He saved us! You're forgot? Don't pretend to forget! This isn't funny! He's your brother! You can't forget, right?!" scream Nina. It was a scream that might have been heard throughout the inn so loud.
Edna was silent for a moment, when she felt empty. But after he saw Ren, a moment later he came to his senses.
"Geez! What the hell am I doing? How could I forget? Ren! Ren! What happened to her?" Edna was panicking. Soon, Nina checks Ren's body, but doesn't talk to Edna.
Nina felt a little outrageous to slap Edna's cheek, and felt a little guilty about it.
Edna looked at the clothes that Ren was wearing, half of which were clothes called [The Dark Lord's Wrath]. It was an extension of [Duality], a skill that Edna had seen, so Edna automatically recognized it.
"D-this?!!" Edna slightly touched the mask ornament that was on Ren's shoulder, and instantly a black aura flowed into Edna's hand.
Edna paused slowly, feeling the pain in her hand.
"Edna! Your hand?!" yelled Nina worried.
"I-this? It's curse! Same curse that Ren had first! S-Sacred Water! I-i need it! Where do I keep it?!" Edna was panicking.
"Mother will take her carriage!" Nina immediately understood, and ran to retrieve the "Sacred Water" that was there.
"Why? What's up, Ren?" Edna shouted worriedly.

Ren Larvest POV's...
I woke up looking at the sky that I did not know. I barely moved, but at least I could open my eyes.
("Me, who? Where's me?")
Ahh, I can't feel any heat, cold or uncomfortable. Besides, I don't feel any emotions either. I don't feel angry, sad, or worried about anything.
"Why am I here? Who's she?" I could only whisper softly when I saw someone sleeping while sitting, looking after me.
Across there was another person sleeping on a different bed. I
"Humm, that's Edna's sister and mother. Why did I forget? Then, I managed to protect them now, didn't I? Why am I not happy. Wait for. From the beginning, who am I?" I am confused by his circumstances.
"Hmmnhh!!" I heard a low growl from the person near my bed.
"Rin?! Are you awake?!!" edna was screaming.
("Ren? That's myname? Seems right. But why did I forget? That's weird.") I just kept quiet, patting.
"W-what happened? Who did that last night? Also, why are you using that skill? Didn't I tell you it was dangerous?" edna shouted furiously.
Humm, what's going on? I just kill people. And I need that power when his friend comes. It's a simple thing, isn't it?
That's what I want to say, but I feel lazy doing it.
"Nothing." That's all I can say.
("No, wait! It's not me! Why am I like this? My character is not like this!") I screamed in my heart. I don't know what it means, but why is my mind screaming like that?
"Where is probably nothing! I even forgot about you! I don't know why, but I forgot about you!" edna shouted while she started crying, hitting my chest. All that commotion obviously made mom wake up, so I could only pat her on the head.
I looked at my own body, I was full of curses. Uhh, that's terrible.
And he said he forgot about me? I even forgot who I was! Is this related to this curse?
"Hey, brother Edna. This is Holy Water, right? Drinkable?" askaku.
"Well, it can, but it's of no use" replied Edna.
Whatever. I just took the bottle, and drank it. One second, two seconds, nothing happened, until I felt my stomach start to heat up.
"ARGHHHHH!!!!"
"Ma?!" edna looks worried.
I held my head that felt like it was going to break, and it seemed like it was just my hallucination, but my body started to smoke.
And I lost my consciousness, again.

"Ughh." a black-haired man slightly knelt down holding his chest.
"What's up, Kei?" ask the woman next to him. He was Cilia who walked on an adventure with Kei.
"There's a little problem. Can we just go back to the inn now?" asked Kei who started to duck down and held onto his chest, now venturing into his head.
Cilia did not seem to understand much, but simply nodded.
They are now in one of the cities of Aentiah. Because they were basically adventurers, so circumnavigating the world was common.
But now Kei suddenly complained of pain, so Cilia as his Partner could not stand in his way.
"Huff. Thank you, Cilia." said Mei as she began to sit on the small bed. His face looked unfavorable, revealing his condition.
"Battle!! You can wipe my head for the payoff!" cilia said happily. Kei just smiled, then stroked his head, obeying Cilia's wishes.
"But master, what's up?" tanya Cilia arrived.
Kei kept quiet, thinking about it for a moment.
He felt his chest and head that felt hot earlier, even though he checked the status and there was no strangeness there.
"This, means only one. Wrath Seed has evolved" Kei said slowly.
His face said this with weight, but full of confidence. Cilia was surprised, her countenance changed and she covered her mouth.
This caused silence, but then Cilia started talking.
"Does that mean, the position of the master will be replaced?" ask Cilia slowly. He seemed to be starting to change his mood, making him sad.
"No. He still takes a long time for that."
"But isn't this too soon?" Cilia denies.
"Yes. I don't know why. What was worse, was that he started to get the side effects of the skill. He's starting to get forgotten, you know?!" said Kei.
"Wait, what?! Being forgotten? Nah! That's.... Painful. I remember I had forgotten about the master for a moment, and it was the saddest moment for me."
"Because of that, it looks like we should speed up the meeting. I've sent letters to all of them, but there's no answer yet." said Kei again.
"Hopefully nothing bad happened."
"Hopefully." replied Kei quietly, looking up at the sky.
