ACT 2: Chapter 4 - Farewell to Soeye
Soeye manyambar Ren and took him in her cradle. Ren looked pitiful, quite could be said to be battered.
("Ahh! Why am I doing this? Maybe because of instinct? Or whatever it is?") Soeye shouted in her heart.
As for Ren, looking to make a difficult face, he thought of many things about this world. He was also aware of how harsh this world was towards ordinary humans like him.
Soeye got somewhere, maybe it was her hiding. It was located quite deep into the forest, but it was very hidden because it was near a waterfall.
The soothing sound of the waterfall continues to roar like music, accompanying Ren's arrival.
Soeye put Ren down slowly, picking up some toolboxes. Maybe to treat Ren.
Ren did not feel any dangerous things with his body, but he just complied with it.
He had also already analyzed what happened to his body, and estimated how long it would take to heal him.
As usual, he was scary.
"Why are you in that crowd? Oh yea! Do you understand what I'm saying?" Soeye was a little worried about Ren, while still taking care of Ren slowly.
Ren also knows that he cannot appear as a "Shinigami" in front of Soeye. So at least, he tried to change his way of speaking.
"Ah, stop. I'm not okay. Thank you for helping me out." Ren is trying to be another character.
"But what's your goal?" Ren pretended to be suspicious.
("I should try to be a different person when in Soeye's fepan?") Ren was pensive for a moment, when he had to talk to Soeye.
Ren turned his face away, when the atmosphere became silent. While Soeye remained slowly taking care of Ren. Seemed sincerity, and a little respect in Soeye, perhaps remembering the "Shinigami" in her shadow.
"Why?" Ren spoke slowly.
"Why are you helping me?" Ren asked, in a subtle tone. Now he plays acting by pretending to soften.
Ren is a really dangerous guy.
"Eh?" Soeye sat still.
"My reason? My reason, huh?" Soeye closed her eyes trying to remember.
"Maybe, because I changed."
"I was saved by a stranger, and it really stuck inside me. I at least want to be that kind of person." Soeye smiled as she recalled Ren's words.
("If only I could see him again.") Soeye smiled.
Honestly, Ren knows who it is. But basically he is a reliable con man, it is easy for him to hide that.
"That guy," Ren lowered his head.
"Where is he now?" Ren actually wanted to extract information about his whereabouts. He thought, chances are there will be people who know, that Ren is the "Shinigami.
Because indirectly, Soeye is the one who can collect information.
"Only, he was a very young person. Younger than me. And he's very strong. The moves are fast and strong."
"Even he is a man who does not hesitate, though he must see terrible things before his eyes." Soeye now looked at her own hand, remembering Ren fighting forward while protecting her.
"Isn't that horrible? He did not think of swinging his weapon. And also, if he was too light to move his hand, wouldn't he be a dangerous person?" Ren pulls the thread of danger.
It's a dangerous question for him, because it's in an area of ash, which might get him caught.
"Well, whatever it is, he's a strong man. I would also definitely think the same as if I had such an opponent. And all I can do is curl up in his shadow." Soeye walked over, put the toolbox again.
"I want to be stronger! I'll go after him, and maybe we can meet again. I'm going home to my grandfather maybe?" He raised his hand confidently, smiling at Ren.
("Hmm, it's good that I'll meet him in that form when we meet again. Even like this, I don't want to betray her wishes!") Ren nodded inwardly.
"Ahh, I seem to understand. I also have people I want to pursue for that." Ren smiled happily.
"This way, it's done!" Soeye said happily as she raised her hand from Ren's injured leg.
There were many wounds on Ren's body, but most of them were not open wounds, or blood-letting ones. Most of his injuries were bruises, many parts on his hands, feet, even his blackened face.
Soeye was a little surprised to see Ren who could withstand it all after being treated so badly.
"Ah, umm. Thank ye. Actually, getting me out of that crowd was enough. You don't have to get this way for me."
Although Ren looked flat-faced, but he laughed in his heart.
"You don't need to get involved with me anymore, but I won't forget your kindness. I'll get back at it, when I'm strong later." Ren made a face full of determination.
("Wahh, I became a character who is like the manga protagonist Shounen! Know it? This is the Zero to Hero route!")
"Aahaha! You don't need to be strong-witted, boy!" Soeye laughed, patting hard on Ren's back.
"Ouch!"
("Damn! This really hurts to know! I need healing magic!") Ren shouted in his heart.
Ren slightly stroked his back, while slightly grumbling.
"Do I need to take you to your house?" Soeye smiled gently.
"No, there's something I have to do." Ren smiled calmly.
This was his true smile, not using the [Poker face] skill.
Soeye flinched with that, reminding her of Ren helping her by disguising himself as a [Shinigami]. Because he's basically the same person.
"Oh yeah! Looks like someone forgot." Ren turned.
"What's your name, brother?" Now Ren called Soeye.
"My name is Soeye! Remember that if you want to return my services, yes!" Soeye replied jokingly.
