Become A Human In Another World

Become A Human In Another World
ACT 2: Chapter 2 - The Conversation In Tea Shows

"W-how can bi-can?" Now Ren can control his body again.

"You know? I have a special skill, [Time for Truth] that can use time magic. I can boast of it because the one who can use this skill can only be counted fingers in this whole world." Childe laughed, showing her status.

Ren looked again, and found the skill in question. He had ignored him, because there were so many Childe skills, and he missed that part.

("The magic of time, isn't it terrible? If I could have it, I could have gone back to earth, right? Shouldn't that be off limits?!") Ren shouted back inside.

"You think I can control time? Nah! I could only look at the memories in someone for some time." Like guessing Ren's mind, Childe chuckled.

"This is not an extraordinary skill, because it is only useful to check the truth." Childe added tea to her glass.

("If so, he must have seen Soeye's memories,") Ren, who had begun to understand the situation, was now calm.

"As you think, I looked at the boy's memories, and saw that "Shinigami." Obviously Childe.

"But why do you know it's me?" Ren asked confusedly. It's true, Childe might not have known. Although their faces are the same, different hair colors are important.

In this world, the color of the hair still could not be changed at will.

"I told you, I know everything. Including him who asked your real name. And what's your answer?" Childe asked calmly.

"I didn't answer. But," Ren muttered slowly, but he now understood.

Just then, Ren could only fall silent in surprise staring at Childe.

"You explained that you are human! The only human being around here is you, Ren. Maybe no one knows that, but we guild members know that. There may come a time when the boy will know it too." Childe was laughing.

And Ren, he obviously couldn't argue at the moment.

"Aahggs!" Ren screamed in frustration as his secret opened up so easily.

"Aahaha! You're a really interesting kid! I'm getting curious about you!" Childe laughed as she patted her hands together.

Ren was only confused, then went back to maintaining his attitude towards the person in front of him.

"Ah, forgive me." Ren was polite.

"So, what do you want to do with me?" Ren sat down, breathing a little hard quite irritatedly.

"No. Can you not change the way you speak? I'm uncomfortable, and you're my son's savior." Childe smiled gently.

"alright. I assume Uncle Childe's seen me like this before, right? [Change]!" Ren turned his hair back to black.

("Uhh, why is this all happening? But it seems, he is quite able to be utilized. Depends on how I respond.") Ren is still trying to find the velah.

Ren went back to thinking, how did he take advantage of this unfortunate thing for him.

"Wahh! Aye! This is right you! I expected!" Childe shouted in excitement as Ren changed his hair color.

Ren smiled looking at that, but remained with a troubled face.

"What's that face? I'm not going to expose this to anyone, not even Roy himself!" Childe tried to comfort Ren.

Ren who deliberately made that sad face smiled.

("Successful, huh?") Ren smiled happily.

"Well, that should be. To be honest, I also don't know, what I'm doing is right, but I'm just following my heart." Ren replied while drinking his tea.

"Aahaha! It's true! I really like you!" Childe said bahak.

The momentary silent atmosphere.

"So by the way, can you teach me the magic you did yesterday? It was even visible from the city! I wondered what magic it was. It was never written in the book." his face was enthusiastic.

"Or maybe, you made it yourself?" Childe held her chin, now putting on a thinking face.

"A-ah, yahh, you could say I made it myself. But I can't do that magic anymore. The first and last time I took it out, was back then, at least for now." Obviously Ren was down.

"What do you mean?" Childe's forehead shriveled.

"Well, if I take out Fehl in a big way, that leak will kill me, destroy my body. Maybe I can only last less than 5 minutes." Ren said calmly as he squeezed the lemon into his tea.

"So that much Fehl needed to destroy yourself, huh?" Childe quickly understood.

"Give me one!" Childe pushes her teacup to Ren, who squeezes the lemon. Ren immediately gave it to her, blackmailing it for Childe.

Childe imitates Ren stirring it first, then drinking it. And that made him amazed again.

"It's really calming. I feel light and easy to talk!" Childe's comments on the tea

"Haha! That'sthat's true! I want Uncle Childe to be easy to talk to, to say what uncle's main purpose is. In other words, this is a bribe." Ren enjoyed the aroma of the tea, before drinking it.

"Humm, you're really honest, aren't you? Well then," Childe put down her teacup.

"I admit, you were amazing to be able to save them, especially my daughter. You can dare to infiltrate alone, and manage to do so quickly, not making them lack the least of anything." Childe began his explanation.

"You praise me too much, uncle! I'm sure Uncle Childe can finish them off on his own. They were only keroco that was equivalent to a dozen-level person!" Ren said a little low, or quipped.

"Khu Khu's. Youre right. But I can't come in time. Maybe if it was me, I wouldn't have had time to save them, and just watched them become a victim to the Demon King." Childe took a breath.

"So, in other words, their lives are entirely yours. You're holding their lives." Childe.

("What is he thinking? I honestly can't read his mind. He's too hard to guess!") Ren.

("Do I need to test it?") he started smiling.

"Eh? So, you're saying that they're all just containers of souls that I saved? In other words, they're all mine?" Ren asked a little extreme, trying to lure Childe.

"Ah, are you luring me?"

"Curtain!" Ren poked slowly.

"Yes. If you say it directly, you are right. So I thought of a way." Childe joined her hands together, with fingers touching each other to form a pyramid.

"I thought of you being Syila's fiancee. How's it?" Childe asked calmly.

"OH!!!"

"Whatis that? Y-you gave up your own p-daughter? Wh-are you crazy?!" Ren shouted loudly while standing up, putting his teacup down loudly. A miracle the expensive cup did not break.

("What does that mean? Is he testing me? But, engagement huh? Uh, I do have a promise for this world, but not so fast shit!!!") Ren shouted inwardly, shaking his head rapidly.

Childe smiled now. From the beginning, this was what he was looking for.

In other words, Ren got into his trap.

"Why? Didn't you just say they were all yours? Why are you backing out now?" Childe asked mockingly.

"W-uh! B-but, that, oh yeah! I've never known him!" Shouted Ren paled.

"Isn't that easy for us? The introduction is not important. Some even arrived married. It's all natural." Childe replied, remain calm.

("This guy is really crazy! What am I supposed to do?!") Ren thought again, now with sweat that began to appear on his temple.

"Ahh, then, I've never met him. And also, he might not accept me because I'm human. That's all possible, isn't it?" Answer Ren.

She remembers her past, which was rejected even to befriend her female friends.

Once he tried to say hello to one of his friends, but he was just ignored.

Some even throw their faces away, or make unpleasant faces. Remembering it made Ren upset.

"That's the easy thing. You don't have to think about it." Childe smiled, not understanding the crux of the matter.

"It seems, it would be impossible for me to stop your intentions, huh?" Ren started to calm down and sat back down.

All his alibi must have been broken. He increasingly sees that Childe is a terrible person.

"Yes right! But I also see this is too soon. What if we start when you're 11, and so does Syila. He'll be 11."

"First you'll be engaged to her, and you can as you please set a wedding date. But just remember, not too long." Childe laughed after explaining at length.

("Topics, topics! I need a topic!") Ren started to get tormented with all this.

"Hey, rather than that," now Ren had a serious face. Although he meant to divert the conversation, but now he spoke seriously.

"From that?"

"We must be careful. Uncle knows, right? What is the fabric of the Eldian made of?" Ren asked stared intently at Childe.

"Yes. I know at least. It was a dangerous cloth that was used in the dark times of war. It's powerful against the Elves." Childe replied a little sweaty, drinking her tea.

"And it's made of-"

"Holy water. One of the materials needed to make Eldian Fabric." Childe interrupted.

("Yeah! I managed to change the topic!") Ren shouted happily in his heart.

"really. And the Holy Water had already been handed over completely to the Elves, as it was the Elves who could maximize its potential. In addition, an interracial peace treaty also forces the entire country to do that." Ren closed his eyes.

"Yes. And I don't know where they got the Holy Water from." Childe also looked a little dark.

"Don't you guys have it? The Guild." Ren placed his hand on the table slowly leaning his head towards Childe, whispering.

"You mean?! The person in the Guild who planned this?!" Childe also imitates Ren, whispering but in a powerful voice.

"I don't think this is an estimate anymore. But it's true. And I'm still confused as to what the underlying motive was. There was a chance that he wanted to overthrow the Guild. But if so, what's the advantage for them?" Ren thought back.

"I thought of something!" Childe shouted enthusiastically.

"What was their advantage when they managed to summon the Demon King? Aren't they going to be affected as well?" Childe asked realistically.

"Humm's right. What do they get if the city is destroyed?" Ren fell silent.

("Childe was right when he said that. It could also be that they were destroyed when the Demon King was summoned. If they're going to call him, chances are they've prepared, right?") Ren began to analyze.

"Uncle Childe. What if their goal was to bring down the current Guild leadership, and they had already prepared weapons to ward off the Demon King?" Ren replied sure.

"Heh?! That's not possible! The Demon King was not an entity that could be resisted in the usual way! It takes an elite knight, and it's not just 1 or 2!" Childe kicked the table in disbelief.

Ren smiled wryly.

"alright. In that case, what would uncle do if this city was attacked by the Demon King?" Ren asked prepared an argument. He glanced at Childe sharply.

"Of course I will fight against him!" Shouted Childe sure.

Ren just kept quiet, drank his tea again. He closed his eyes, nodding a nod of understanding. But she just kept quiet, waiting for Childe to understand what she was saying herself.

"Ah, you're right. He can use us?" Ask Childe.

"Finally my uncle realized it!"

"The city is full of strong people. He might not be strong enough, but those Guild people were extremely powerful. He did want to destroy the stewardship of the Guild, but he didn't want to eliminate people who would be useful to him." Clearly Ren while covering his mouth with the fingers of his two hands.

"In other words, he's only after one person, one position." Ren fell silent slowly, as his gaze cooled.

"He's after my father, his position as the Guild Master of this Eldergale city." Ren's gaze was cold, filled with curiosity and a hint of anger.

"He's been wrongly targeting my family right now." Ren continued, it's getting quieter now.

"Then, it looks like I should investigate the culprit immediately." Childe replied, sitting quietly. The atmosphere was temporarily silent, leaving the sound of clinking glasses clashing with plates.

"I think they picked the wrong opponent. I'll help you. So, what am I supposed to do?" Ask Childe.

The atmosphere was gripping because Ren's anger was unstoppable. All was silent, with Childe observing the changes happening to Ren.

("The fool. I now know, ordinary people won't get away with it. I don't know what they want but, I can even feel his anger from this distance.)" Childe picked up the tea that the water in it started to shake.

("Maybe this is a short distance, but at least, he has good air Mana control ability, so his Fehl responded to Mana easily. I'm really scared. I'm really amazed by humans!") Childe trembled slightly in her heart.

"yes too. I have you, uncle. You do have some nonsensical things to say, but you're really amazing." Respond Ren smiled.

"I don't even know who deserves to be called "absurd" here." Childe said a little bit of insinuation to Ren. Ren just laughed a little, hearing that.

"Yes. I want to ask for help, to find out who's behind this. I can't get out of here, and I can't dabble much in the Guild either. It would be perfect for me to have you on my side, Uncle Childe." Said Ren extending his hand.

"Hmm, I get it. But I didn't promise to give you the good news quickly." Childe responded to Ren's hand by shaking it, signalling in agreement.

"I knew this would be difficult for uncle, because uncle only moved on his own and could not trust anyone, but I would always wait for the good news." Ren smiled broadly.

Childe smiled curiously, then pulled back her hand.

"Yes. I know it won't be easy. Maybe it took me 3, not 5 years to figure that out. And I also know they won't move fast. I will also stop by often to talk about it. I'm happy with your tea, son!" Sahut Childe laughed slightly raising her cup.

"Yes! I will happily wait, and if uncle comes, I will also happily prepare some tea!" Answer Ren. They just laugh together.

***

Somewhere else, there was the sound of an uncomfortable scream, which honestly felt terrible to hear.

It came from a room in a mansion, with the door locked, and no curtains or windows open.

There was no light there, not even the candles or the fire lights on the walls were extinguished.

There was only the screams and sounds of books and items thrown away by the owner, who was obviously upset.

"All my plans! Goddamnit! Aarghh!"

PYARR! There was the sound of shards from an item being thrown. Though he knew, glass and ceramics here are very expensive items.

"Why is there such a damn hero? Me, all my plans! All ambitions! I should have been able to sit in the Guild seat this time, enjoying all the plans I had already built up. Seeing them fighting to protect this shit city!" He continued to curse, now stopping and pounding the table with a gasp of breath.

"If I manage to get rid of Roy and Suzu, power will definitely fall on me. There's no way Edna's taking it, or even Rule."

"Ruly will not be accepted because of his attitude, even Edna does not have enough age. As for what was left of them, only stupid humans like Nina and her child existed. I'm sure there's no one who's willing to accept that." He said as he began to remain silent.

"Do I have to mess up the Dungeon? No. gabe. It would be too reliant on cults. My position will be dangerous." He shook his head.

"After all, this Dungeon in Eldergale is Rank-B. The monsters here were not too powerful for those who could be called Rank-S parties!"

"Gee! How else! I'll go through with the last plan! Although this takes 1 year, it does not. To be more perfect I need 2 years!" He started smiling.

He started laughing alone in the dark room. A terrible laugh echoed throughout the hallway, all the way to the mansion.

note: What about Third person PoV? The author again tried to write with the view of the Third person, but it felt a bit strange. Maybe I'll go back to the first person? 🤔
