ACT 6: Chapter 3 - The Past
"That means? Whatisit? Is that enough to make you bother coming to my room at the end of the day just to ask me that?" ryan asked a little confused.
Ruly who heard that just laughed out loud.
Ren doesn't understand, but knows Ruly there's something she's covering up. No, not covered up. He would only ask, about such an important matter, that he would have to ask Liu Xiu after everyone had already returned.
"Yahh, I have. I told you I've known you since you were a baby. So, I know how you lie" said Ruly starting the conversation.
Soon, Ren knew where this conversation would lead. It made Ren sweat cold.
"Just be honest with me, you're lying, aren't you? You're not sick or anything, are you? All this time you've been pretending to be sick, and keeping quiet under the covers all day. Hufft. It's confusing, but why do you have to do this?" asked Ruly in a bit of disbelief.
Ren's face that heard that immediately turned pale. His body trembled, and his eyes played to and fro looking for an excuse.
Just looking at that, Ruly knew that her guess was correct.
"Huff. I guess that's true, isn't it?" ruly asked while slightly taking a breath, tired.
Ren did not answer, only remained silent while looking down. He seemed really upset because he was pura pura sick already known by Ruly.
"K-k-ke-why does brother b-can know?" asked Ren a little stuttered.
Ruly felt a bit of pity after seeing Ren's girl, and prepared to answer, but Ren immediately cut off.
"That's what I wanted to say, but.." Ren's gloomy face suddenly turned into a sly grin, looking satisfied with what he got.
"Ting keg! Brother Ruly is right! I was pretending to be sick!" ren shouted cheerfully.
There was a moment of silence, when Ruly just looked at Ren with a confused look and disbelief. Ruly was completely unable to say a word, only able to gawk while looking at Ren with a face full of questions drawn on his face.
"Eh?" asked Ruly quietly, still not understanding.
"Yes! Brother was right, because I was right, pura pura is sick. I did deliberately make some clear movements, so that Brother Ruly could understand approaching me as quickly as possible...."
"But it's lucky that Brother Ruly quickly understood, and followed my plan. So I can get on with it all faster." Ren's story is long.
And ever since, when Ren's body was shaking and his speech was stuttering, it was Ren's acting.
Yep! Ren was just pretending!
He had from the beginning wanted to ask Ruly for help to replace her going to Furyuun without being noticed by anyone else. And to be honest, Ren was so glad Ruly foam came to his room this afternoon.
But seeing her sister was very serious, made Ren want to tease and play with her sister even longer.
Ruly still could not keep up, just kept quiet, and tried to digest the words that Ren had put out just long enough she was silent, until finally Ren raised an eyebrow, slightly enthroned in question.
"Hey, brother! What's up?" ren asked still pretending to be confused.
"Hey, Ren. Did you play brother?" ask Ruly in a low tone.
"I? Ahh, it must be just a big brother's delusion. Wellh, I was just acting a little so that big brother would believe me, but like him I missed.." whispered Ren when he saw eyes like his could eat him at any time.
It was the eyes of Ruly, who was angry at Ren, making him barely able to breathe by strangling Ren under the blanket for a few minutes!
After that, Ruly lectured Ren for more than 30 minutes non-stop, which was full of spicy words in each sentence, making the ears of anyone who hears them will surely hurt.
It happened in succession, too, when Ruly was upset that Ren was playing everyone like he was without sin.
"...... You know you're wrong, right? Everyone is worried about you!"
"Well." replied Ren resignedly.
Instead of being sad, Ren was happy with this. He recalled the day when he was scolded like this, and this he did again. In other words, he misses when someone scolds him, reminding him to this extent.
Because after the incident, the figure of Ruly who scolded her no longer existed. So his desire to be able to feel what he had never felt during this time appeared to defeat his rational mind.
"Alright, I understand." Ren replied with a smile.
Seeing that, Ruly just took a tired breath while pouting.
"But your face doesn't show that you understand... Ahh, stop. I'll tell you first." said Ruly as he prepared to stand.
This time, Ren panicked. He was really panicked, because he was enjoying his time with his older brother too much, and forgot his main goal and was instead threatened at the unloading of his secrets!
"Wait wait wait wait! Just sec. I have something to talk about, brother!" ren shouted, intercepting Ruly in the middle of the road arriving out of his blanket.
Ruly was a little surprised, how Ren could be that fast, but she took a deep breath.
"Huff. What's really going on? I don't want to make you worry more. Besides, do you really not want to go to Furyuun?" ask Ruly.
Ren did not answer, and just walked slowly, toward the bed, and sat down.
"I have some circumstances" Ren said as he sat on the bed.
Ruly who saw it was a little surprised, because inside her sister's eyes appeared a seriousness, which was usually rarely inside her eyes. And now, Ren invites her to sit down, invites her to talk. Then there's something important he wants to talk about.
With such thoughts in mind, Ruly walked slowly towards the place where Ren was sitting, and sat down next to him.
"What's wrong? You used to be the most excited to go to Furyuun. You said, there are some things you can do during the trip. But why are you avoiding that now, and refusing to leave?" asked Ruly with a confused face.
Ren took a deep breath. There were a lot of things he wanted to tell Ruly, but he knew, he couldn't.
He remembered, there were invisible rules to this world. And if he breaks he will raise the skill [Taboo]. Ren now did not want that, so he would not tell her that he knew what was going to happen in the future.
For now, Ren assumes that this is a dream and reality. So he intends to consider this a dream, as well as reality as well.
But he had no idea that the longer, the more he thought this was the real world to him. That would be bad for him.
He just doesn't know it.
"Hummmmd. There's something I'm thinking. Well, there's a reason why I don't want to go. I really want to visit Suzu. But, there's something more important here, something that even I can't hand over to someone else" Ren said, explaining briefly.
He avoided some things that could have made him reveal a secret, so he was really careful now.
Meanwhile, Ruly looked at Ren with a sharp look. Even so, he knew that his sister was really serious. He knows Ren doesn't play around with this, and Ruly will answer.
"Is there a problem here?" ask Ruly.
"Yahh, a little."
"Is it about the new monsters that appear around the city?"
"Sort of like that, maybe?"
"Will it harm this city?" ask Ruly in succession.
Ren was a little speechless for the final question, but regardless, he had to answer it immediately.
"I don't know. The point is, I can't leave this town to see Suzu. At least, I should be here and make sure everything is safe for the next week" Ren explained.
There was a moment of silence, until finally Ruly took a breath, looking tired.
"alright. It looks like there's something I'm planning, but I know I can't ask that. Well, whatever it is, it must be dangerous enough to be able to alert you like this" said Ruly.
Ren who heard that laughed dryly, because in fact this was not only quite dangerous, but it was indeed very dangerous.
"The bottom line is, I'm counting on you, Ren. But if there's something, you can tell it to brother. This brother of yours can at least be given an easy task you know!" ruly said as she stood up, and randomized Ren's white hair.
"Ha ha ha. Alright. I get it, big brother." said Ren with his flat laughter.
