ACT 4: Chapter 12 - Infiltrating
Liu Xiu had not used his Zadkiel for a long time. And now after all this time he wears it back. It made Liu Xiu excited.
But, the quiet atmosphere in the forest, and also the creepy conditions make the trip really full of vigilance, not cheerfulness. Not even a single insect was seen in the forest that had started to blacken it.
"Like a dead area... Will the Demon King's territory look like this?" liu Xiu asked fixedly while being on standby with the two daggers in his hand.
?!
"What is that.. person?" liu Xiu asked softly as he looked at a shadow passing by, very far away.
He immediately moved slowly, trying not to produce the slightest sound. Coupled with a little grass land, making it easy to walk in the forest.
"It's true Dark Magic is thick. Is it ridden?" ask Liu Xiu.
In front of him was a thick black cloud that looked dense. It moved slowly over the forest, like it was watching the surroundings. Moreover, wherever it moved, it brought death to the life beneath it.
The trees blackened, and the ground cracked as the black cloud passed by. Liu Xiu did not know, what would happen if he was beneath him.
Liu Xiu already had high immunity to Dark Magic. But on the other hand, he is human.
It made him confused how to get closer.
"I'd better follow him." Liu Xiu muttered softly as he started following the flying object.
Until finally, he came to a place with a large ash-colored protector. It looked huge from here, but it was quite a distance away from the World Tree, making it invisible from there.
"Dark Magic Barrier." Liu Xiu smiled softly, then barged in easily.
Indeed the purpose of forming that barrier was to prevent the forest Race from entering. That barrier is indeed dangerous for Spirit or Fairy, even Dryad. But other races like Dark Elves, or perhaps Beasts could enter easily.
Once inside the barrier, Liu Xiu did not know that inside was very crowded with many people.
Luckily, no one noticed that Liu Xiu entered in an unusual manner, as there were others who entered.
But soon, Liu Xiu sought a shadow for where he was hiding.
"I'm lucky, nobody knows. If that happens, end my history!" liu Xiu said slowly.
"But I didn't expect there would be so many people here. Do they work for a paid? Or are they slaves? But there's something strange. I can't feel their existence at all." Liu Xiu muttered confusedly.
?!!
Liu Xiu had already stood up, and readied his dagger on the neck of a man. But he's holding her back.
"Work.." came a flat voice from the man.
He did not even pay attention to the dagger that was on his neck, and just continued forward to pick up a box next to Liu Xiu. Obviously Liu Xiu was astonished to see that, then he looked into the eyes of the man.
His gaze was empty, not even a light in his eyes. That meant...
"He's dead?!!" liu Xiu asked half-shouting.
The zombie man left Liu Xiu who was still astonished by what he had just seen.
"If he can control that person, why doesn't he know where I am?" ask her while looking around.
"In addition, he should have enough parallel mind ability to process information from all the senses of each person" Liu Xiu said in response to his own question.
"He tied the bodies of these people with Dark Magic to do some work."
"But most likely he would know if one of them died. I have to be careful not to kill any of them."
Liu Xiu slightly shuddered knowing his current position.
In the past, he often watched movies with the theme Zombie. Obviously this situation would make him cautious. He was focused on his mission.
"I need to quickly kill that guy and get out of here!" now his heart is out.
He walked leisurely while carrying a box, infiltrating along with the others to enter a large, majestic building. But anyway, it had a bad feeling there.
Needless to say, Liu Xiu set out to enter the building.
"Different from there, this is really quiet" Liu Xiu said softly. He looked around, found that some of the rooms in the building were really strange. There are several western styles mixed with Asian style here, making it confused.
"The taste of the maker is strange" Liu Xiu said spontaneously.
"Who's there!!!" a scream sounded.
"Ehh?! Can you talk?" ask Liu Xiu. But he didn't need an answer, and directly killed the person who had caught him.
Immediately, a headless corpse fell to the floor. But it was not blood that flowed out, but rather a black object like sand.
"Well?!! Is it also controlled? What kind of spell is this?" Liu Xiu slightly shouted in surprise.
This means that the person can speak and move freely. But he was still bound to the magic implanted in his heart. That makes it able to move according to the commands that have been implanted.
("Making people alive for his experiments, huh? It was truly terrifying.") Liu Xiu's heart whispered as he checked the person's condition.
"I became more and more convinced he had something to do with the Cult." he started to stand up.
"Ahh, by the way I killed one of his dolls. So I'm gonna trigger something dangerous here, right?" liu Xiu said slowly.
And sure enough, a few seconds later it sounded dozens, no. Even hundreds of footsteps were heard from all over. This reminded Liu Xiu of the S-Rank Dungeon in Furyuun.
"Do I have to say, it's time to party?" liu Xiu asked with a bitter smile.

"How could I not have known any intruders had come in here!!" shouted someone with a stocky body in a closed room.
The room was filled with strange items, and also scattered paper.
Judging from one of the glasses attached to his eyes, as well as the white shirt that enveloped his stocky body, he looked like a scientist.
"My research is almost perfect. And I would definitely go back to Cult if I could give this research to the Cult. Happened 2 years ago, I won't let that happen again!! I will not lose and give up my research this time!!" he said full of anger.
"But this is a good time to try them out. Maybe I'll put it down." he said with a sly smile.
