ACT 2: Chapter 55 - Reality
Ren was still walking with a blank look in his eyes. Indeed, it looks like his body is here, but not with his soul. He was just too scared to realize this. Therefore, he made the imagination that this was all just a joke from someone else.
He was still trying to find Edna, to heal Syila. Although in his mind he wanted to find Edna, but he actually just could not accept the reality.
The fact that he came late, the fact that his city was destroyed, the fact that people were killed.
The fact that the person he carried in his hands was dead.
He just walked straight, with slow steps and eyes that kept wide open, holding someone who was lifeless. With high hopes of healing it.
But in part he was still conscious, being seen with his [Zadkiel] who was still active, whose firearms flew after Ren, shooting at the approaching monster.
But then again, Ren doesn't think this is all real. His heart was too broken to accept all of this.
Ren also thought that this was just a joke, where everyone would just joke around with him. Or it was just a dream, he thought.
In other words, he's broken.
Ren walked slowly, past a wall that was strangely still standing. He looked to the right and left behind the wall.
"Aah!" Ren let out a slow scream, as he looked at who was behind there.
"Sister Ruly!" She laughs. Despite laughing, tears flowed down his fake smile.
"Sister Ruly is hiding there, and waiting for me? He must have wanted to surprise me. But baby, he's asleep there." Ren's voice became heavy.
Ruly is dead. With a hollow chest, and a mouth that bleeds. He was lucky, because his entire body was still arguably intact. Just to stay intact, it was also a miracle.
"Eh, why am I crying?" Ren wiped away the tears coming down beside his cheek.
That means one of his thoughts still knows, that this is reality.
Ren approached, then put Syila away for a moment. She held Ruly behind her back, hooked her hands around her neck, then stood up again while carrying Syila in her hands.
"Pity of Brother Ruly. If he continued to fall asleep here, he would be cold! Could, he got in the wind, right? What do you think, Syila?" He's a little wiggling it. But still, there would be no answer from him.
His heart was already broken, his mentality was not strong to withstand this. He was still trying to hold on to think this was all a lie.
"Hey, Syila do you know where Edna's sister is? I really haven't found it yet! Oh yea! What about my appearance? Can't I travel as a human?" Ren spoke to "Syila" who was in his hand.
"Ahh, let. Besides, no one's seen us. Hmm, I wonder why it's so quiet?" He was still talking to himself, when in reality the person he was looking for was scattered near his feet.
He continued walking, until he found Roy who was fighting against the huge monster created by Gordo earlier.
Ren can be said to "help" pave the way for Roy and the others to escape. Because since then, [Zadkiel] is still active.
"Hi, brother Edna! Mama! Daddy!" Ren shouted happily when he found them all. Spontaneously, he ran up to Edna.
("Ren? Why is Ren here? Isn't he in Furyuun? It's gonna be dangerous! AHHHH!! Whatever it is, I'll protect my family!") Roy who saw that, strengthened the grip in his hand, then again attacked forward.
Edna also saw that, then smiled when she saw Ren carrying Syila and Ruly, not yet knowing their circumstances.
"Sir Edna! Please make [Sanctuary] and heal Syila! And also, wake up Brother Ruly. He fell asleep on the road! Even his body was becoming cold now. Give him a blanket. While mother. What'd you do?" Ren said.
Nina heard and saw that, crying. And so is Edna. They knew that Syila and Ruly were dead.
Srasshhh!!!
A voice of shards sounded! Roy who still survives is not strong anymore. The club that the monster was carrying collided with his long sword, throwing it backwards, onto the wall near them all.
Even the sword made from Admantium was not strong enough to withstand the monster club formed from dark magic!
Edna and Nina shouted, and the two of them immediately approached Roy who was immediately covered in blood!
"Dad! Daddy's! Wake up!" Edna removed the sword from Roy's grasp. Nina was crying while hugging him.
The atmosphere instantly became gripping. But it was precisely Ren that killed his [Zadkiel]. He slowly approached the monster, with an annoyed look.
"Hey, you two. Why not run? Hurry on! I'll curse you both if you both die here. I've seen. If Syila can't, then Childe's with her."
"I want to die in the same place as Childe." Roy says it quietly, which only the two of them might hear.
"Oh yeah. Take that stupid kid too! He seemed to be unable to accept this reality. Explain to him slowly. I'm sure the feeling of loss for him was something difficult." Roy smiled, before he closed his eyes.
Ren's forehead shriveled at that, then faced the pmonster.
"Rin! We're retreating! Back away! We can't win!" Edna shouted at Ren who was approaching the monster.
Edna could only cry hearing that, knowing that even the strong Ren could not help his broken feelings.
"More..." Edna muttered, covering her mouth while continuing to cry.
Bruhaakk!!! The monster club hit the ground in front of Ren, making him bounce far away, back in front of Edna and Nina!
"More!" Nina as her mother immediately approached and pulled Ren to leave.
Ren's state was quite bad, several wounds appeared on his body. Because in truth, his body was only a human body, so if not using his skills, Ren was just an ordinary human.
Nina wanted to raise and hold him, when Ren's hand threw out her hand.
"Wait on! Heal Shila and wake her first! Don't tell me you're leaving them!" Ren yelled unhappily, and took off the sling from his mother. Trying to walk towards Syila and Ruly was already lame.
"More!" Edna jumped up and lunged at Ren.
Ren, unable to hold Edna back, falls to face Edna. The atmosphere was gripping, as the monster began to approach.
Edna cries in Ren's chest, beating him to stop him from leaving.
"Come on Ren, wake up! They're dead!" Edna shouted while squeezing Ren's shoulder, still crying.
Ren was struck by that. Eyes rounded. It was a big blow to his heart. He really didn't want to hear, or even know that.
"What did you say, brother Edna! They're not. Nah! They were just kidding with me! I know Ruly's prank, and she invited Syila to do it together! It's all fitting-" Ren's screams stopped.
Edna slapped him, making Ren's head turn. Ren was wide-eyed holding his cheek with his left hand.
"Conscious! Ren! This is all reality! Be aware! Look father! Dad sacrificed for us! Do you want to betray his last wish for you? Right?!" Edna shouted to face him, still sitting on Ren's thigh while facing him.
"No. That's not true." Ren shook his head while looking down. His expression started to darken now.
"Open your eyes! Ren! Dad is dead! And so are the two of them! Accept that reality!" Edna screamed again, trying to resuscitate Ren.
"That's not true."
"Look around you, Ren!" Edna took Ren's face, brought his face closer until their foreheads touched, trying to reach Ren from his eyes.
Ren's eyes widened. His eyes are enlarged, with pupils shrinking.
Ren started to look at his father. His mouth opened a little.
"Dad?" He moved, looking towards Syila and Ruly.
"Sister Ruly?" His teeth started to shake.
"Silk?" Now tears began to flow in her eyes. It was dripping profusely, making Ren become aware of it. Edna who saw him started to smile bitterly.
Ren now remembered, what happened. All of them, when she met Childe, when she found Ruly who died, and when Syila died.
She was crying loudly, but it indicated she had returned. Edna smiled a little at that.
"Thank God you-Kyaaaahh!!!" Edna shouted as she was thrown a few meters above Ren.
"What-what?!" Nina asked worriedly.
Ren started to stand up, with a smile and a black dust-like object surrounding him. It was magic. So dense that it can be seen by the eyes.
"Khu Khu Ku. Ha ha ha!" Ren was like a maniacal laugh covering his face with his right hand, brushing his hair.
"Don't say?!" Edna woke up with difficulty watching Ren who was still surrounded by dark magic.
"Guahaha! Who is?! Who did this?" Ren's white hair began to blacken. His pure white eyes started turning black.
His red pupils disappeared, turning yellow at the center, and a red line like splitting appeared.
In his hands also began to appear a mask, similar to the demonic mask he wore when disguised as a Shinigami. The mask with its horns and fangs is sharp, and its eyes glow bright red.
He was still laughing, when he realized something.
"Oh. I-i know. The apostle, huh? Then my opponent is a god?" Ren chuckles.
"Don't tell me that" Edna began to realize what was happening.
"[Armor the God of Darkness]" Nina replied resignedly.
