ACT 6: Chapter 12 - Battle at the Eldergale (1)
"All of you! Don't be lazy! Hurry along! It's a matter of life and death!!"
"Good, sir!!"
"Hey you're there! Follow me!! The people at the fence still lack people! Help quickly!"
"Understand!!!"
The sound of a regular scream was heard shuffling each other. A bold shout, showing their mental strength as an adventurer. Yep. It was the sound of Adventurers working hard to make some fences around the city.
Meanwhile, Roy runs around to help everyone who seems to be struggling. But after all, the one who looks the most difficult is Roy himself.
A little commotion ensued, but soon calmed down as Roy ran and scolded them a little.
Therefore, the mass of Adventurers that very much can be controlled, and continue to do their respective work. You could say, Roy was indeed very suitable to become a Guild Master.
Unlike inside the city, the situation outside was extremely dire. Where the black object resembled a hazy smoke moved very quickly, engulfing all the greenish trees.
It happened just a moment ago, it had now started to reach half the forest area surrounding the city.
Obviously, it adds to the panic of all citizens who know their lives are threatened.
Therefore, the Guild had everyone except the Adventurers prepare themselves and enter their homes. Roy himself has also taken several preventive measures, to evacuate all his citizens.
But the first group run by the Guild Master did not return, not even the voice showed any sign of return.
Clearly, it made those who wanted to evacuate feel afraid, and undo their intention to leave the city.
Roy also acted quickly, moving all the children and women to temporary shelters around the Larvest Mansion.
The evacuation was made simple and rushed, so not too good, but arguably enough. With the fear that is in themselves what citizens, comfort or whatever is no longer important compared to their lives.
While the women and children were displaced, the men were preparing to strengthen the city's defences, and to create large wooden barriers at some of the city gates.
"Actually, what are we doing like this for?" ask one of the men while lifting the wood with the others.
"You don't know? Guild Master had already ordered the kira directly!!" answer the other.
"It's precisely because of that!! Until Guild Master intervened, what exactly happened?" answer the others a little annoyed.
"I-it.." Everyone just fell silent, holding the sky. Thanks to that, everyone who was working was also affected, and the atmosphere of the work grew even more unpleasant.
The wood they were lifting together was dropped, and the person who had initially asked started to get annoyed and kicked the wood until it rolled over. Not only that, some people who saw it also started to surround him, seeing what was happening.
"Call right?!! We should be told what is going on right now!! We were just told to say it like this! We are citizens of the city!!" his yell.
"We are citizens of Eldergale, then we should know what is going on within our own city. Then why are only the Adventurers being told about this, and only commanding us like workers!" the man began to decorate, when he saw more and more people gathered around him.
Hearing that, the citizens who had never had any experience in manual labor started to raise their hands and started shouting some things that made the crowd even more heated up.

A flash of light suddenly appeared in the middle of the crowd, like lightning coming right into the middle.
Immediately, people were stunned to see that, and prepared to run. But, looking at the young girl who appeared from behind the light that came from, they started to calm down. Even so, no one dared to speak out.
"W-what's that?" one of them finally dared to make a sound.
The smoke-covered figure moved a swift hand, blowing away the smog that surrounded his body, revealing himself as a figure known to everyone.
"Include! I'm Edna Larvest! Princess of Roy Larvest! I'm here to hear all your complaints!" edna shouted that appeared in the middle of the crowd.
("Alright, I've jumped into this crowd like Ren said. Now, will they all obey me?") edna murmured a question in her heart.
"What are you guys doing? Didn't Guild Master ask you to cooperate and unite? And now look! What's going on!" edna shouted echoing.
No one dared to answer, because after all, Edna was the child of the Guild Master himself.
"Huff. No one answered, did they? Hey you there!" edna shouted at someone.
"Did? Me?" the person appointed was immediately pale-faced.
"Yes! You're. If you don't tell me what the truth is, I'll arrest you and take you in as the mastermind of the riot. I'll count to three. One until...."
"Wait around! Alright alright! I don't know what it is, but like the young man in the middle of it knows what's going on! And from then on, he spoke." said the father who was appointed by Edna earlier.
Edna smiled, hearing that.
("Well, I'd be a little exaggerated if not ordered by Ren, but it looks like it should be like this?") edna asked with a wry smile.
"alright. You're. What's up, explain it in 5 seconds. I don't have that spare time to take care of you!!" edna shouted as she patted the young man's shoulder in front of her loudly.
"Ah uh. That's. We just don't know what it's working for. We as citizens should know what happened! Aren't we the same as the citizens of the city of Eldergale? Should've been -"
"Good enough!" edna interrupted in the middle of the young man's sentence which began to smolder again at the end. Even so, everyone remained silent, with their faces lowered.
Edna knew that. But, how he had to cope and explain all of her, it was a difficult thing. But, someone once told him, that violence in the right way is sometimes necessary to organize uncontrollable masses.
Edna smiled for a moment, before putting her hands on her waist, and turning her facial expression back flat.
"Do you want to die?" asked Edna in a low tone.
"Eh?" the crowd reflexively asked the same thing.
"When again! Are you going to die?!!" yelled Edna, now louder. And with the coming of the question, the people around immediately asked each other, and the situation once again became crowded.
"Java!!" edna asked louder.
"I-it's... Obviously we don't want to die! Because that's us-"
"Therefore you must follow what Guild Master has said!!" cut Edna off immediately.
"If you want to know things outside, let me tell you. We've been surrounded by an enemy whose strength is extraordinary. Even Adventurers across the city aren't necessarily able to get us out of this situation!" obviously Edna was upset.
"No way....."
"Is that reality?" sounds of despair began to appear between them.
"Therefore, you as citizens of the city should be able to help us, to defend this city! Don't want to feel good, and hide like a woman and a child! I'll join the fight, but you guys are just strengthening the complaining defense? Be ashamed of yourself!" shout Edna.
After giving the lecture just now, Edna took out her magic catalyst which was a stick, and started walking towards the city gate, leaving people speechless, giving way.
"Princess Guild Master is right. She is a woman, and also has not entered adulthood. He's been fighting against something we don't even know about." one of the men spoke up.
"Yes! In that case, let's do what we can, to defend this city!!" one of the young men shouted, raising his hand with vigor, triggering another shout.
Edna who passed looked a little, leaving a smile on her face.
"As Ren said, that person has high self-esteem, huh? Ahh, Ren. You're my human brother, but how come you can think of things so quickly? No, wait. Is it because he is human?" ask Edna astonishment.
"If it is like that, Humans are a terrible race...." Edna smiled wryly as she raised her wand, signaling Ren to carry out his next plan.
