Gorgeous Jewel

Gorgeous Jewel
Chapter I Chapter 10

In an inn around the town square. Kevin the hooded man was observing the atmosphere of the city from the second floor. Seeing the people passing by happily, the man hoped that nothing would happen that would make them lose their happiness.

The footsteps slowly grew closer. Soon the door in the room opened, "Have you found anything?" Without turning around Kevin asked the person who had just entered.

"Sorry sir, we still haven't found any clues." The man was wearing the same clothes that Kevin had worn before.

Kevin sighed "After the assassination attempt on Duke's daughter, I also discovered a strange activity in the southern forest. " his mind. Kevin raised one hand as he gestured to continue his task. "One more thing, I want to find out about the brown-haired girl I just met." Before the man left the room. Kevin feels attracted to his abilities besides that somehow there is something that makes Kevin feel familiar to the girl.

The robed man looked down "Well Sir." Then he passed from the room.

"I don't know what's going on and who's planning all this?" Kevin was deep in thought as he leaned against the wall by the window. "Alicia Lein Strongfort is not a talented girl even people consider her a disaster bearer. If not for his interest in handsome men and also his very fond nature. People may not care so much about their arrogance but it's a pity." Kevin shook his head, he had to endure a bitter smile when he had to meet Alice who was always trying to embrace her arm "In addition to that which made me dizzy thinking the answer was why must Alicia? if the case is related to the power struggle in the kingdom, it would be better to eliminate Iris than Alicia."

After days of leaving the palace, Kevin still has not found the clue he was looking for. He still has trouble finding the real plan and the mastermind behind the current chaos.

The kingdom of Solus does seem peaceful and peaceful from the outside but there is chaos in the royal family. Today three of the four major families who play an important role in the kingdom are in dispute. Aside from Strongfort's residence remaining neutral, the other three seemed to be planning something. Some newspapers even mention the upheaval of ordinary people in the northern region.

"Even Count Lehman came all the way to this town." Kevin put his suspicions on Count Lehman. Based on rumors. Count Lehman was still conducting a slave trade operation which was forbidden by royal law. Every time Kevin gets info about the auction. Count Lehman or the person running the event managed to break free due to the lack of solid evidence to hold them back.

Knowing his arrival to the Vulture town led by Duke Strongfort, there must be something he had planned.

Meanwhile at another time. Cloud, who had been done with his job of protecting Alice since he left the Duke's castle and returned home. Cloud returned to his spare time at his subscription bar.

"Is she really Alicia the stupid princess?" He muttered softly as he twirled his index finger over the drinking glass. "Isn't he a failure? so what about the pressing feeling he had just now?" Cloud thought about how his task was to protect while the person he had to protect was even more dangerous.

Cloud the Rank B adventurer felt that there was something wrong with what he had heard and known. He remembered the moment Alice let out such a powerful killing intent. Because the feeling was still Alice was resistant, the killing intent that Alice unleashed could not be felt by a layman but for Cloud, it could not be felt, the pressure felt so heavy as his shoulders and chest were pressured with such a heavy object.

"Only a person who has ever killed so many lives can give off such a strong killing intent"

Cloud once escorted a noble in a big event. It was from there that he heard so many stories and scorn about Alicia the first daughter of Duke Strongfort. At that time Cloud thought that the girl named Alicia was not much different from the nobles he often met, well even though in his mind Alicia was only more stupid than them. How not? Cloud often encountered some nobles who tortured ordinary people around the city or those who liked to arbitrarily and arrogantly walk without feeling guilty. Every time Cloud remembered that, his head seemed to boil.

Cloud has often traveled from one city to another. According to his conclusion, those nobles were all pretty much the same. Even though there are some of them who are better but it is only a handful.

Cloud gulped down his drink slowly and he put the glass back on the table. "Has he always been pretending to trick people? If it is like that...I don't even know how cunning he is." His mind narrowed his eyes.

After drinking some potions to stabilize his condition and strength. Alice is in a cross-legged sitting position. Alice steadied her focus on her body and surroundings. Although he did not have a Mana Heart but he could still form his own Qi energy.

By absorbing a certain amount of energy and assistance from the healing potion, Alice was finally able to stabilize the condition of her body. Slowly he opened his eyes "With this I can return to training to the fullest." He muttered as he opened his fist. Then he closed his eyes again, Alice again immersed in her training. Like someone who mediates. Alice focused only on herself and the energy she could absorb into her body.

That turbulent feeling that was piling up on his chest was a sign that his strength had increased. A large amount of energy from his stomach and chest area was flowing throughout his body, repairing every inch of bone and joint structure and improving his blood circulation. Sweat began to wet his temples and drip onto the bed. The pajamas he was wearing even looked wet.

Unaware of the time, one night had passed and the morning changed. Alice finally opened her eyes and looked around. "I succeeded." Both sides of her lips lifted slightly.

Alice who had increased her strength tried to sense the presence around her. He seemed to explore the surrounding area with his subconscious. "At this time I can expand my consciousness to tens of meters." That would mean about a quarter of Strongfort's duke castle. Such a wide distance.

The sound of knocking on the door made Alice get out of bed. "Look in" he said.

"Miss, I-You what is this?" Mary who had just entered suddenly had her nose stung by a smell that was foul enough to make her hold her breath. Mary looked around the room. "It can't be the smell of carrion or broken food. This smell is a little weird." Mind wondered. Looking and searching with his eyes. His attention was finally drawn to Alice's clothes that looked so wet. "Eh?No-nona, what happened? Why are your clothes wet like that?"

Alice smiled lightly "I just finished the sport. Nothing happened." Answer's short.

Mary ignored her suspicions because she could not find the origin of the smell other than the state of her Miss who made her curious "I've prepared your bathtub."

"Thank you Mary."

After taking off her pajamas Mary who helped Alice was sure that the smell was coming from her Miss but what attracted her attention this time was Alice's appearance that looked more charming than usual. His skin looks so soft and smooth. Somehow Mary felt that Alice's face became more alluring and luminous than before, Even she was quite difficult to let go of her gaze. Mary who hesitated and did not believe, rubbed her eyes. "Is this really the same lady? how is it a little different, huh?" His mind is full of question marks.

"What's up Mary?" Alice asked after she soaked her body into the bathtub.

Mary blushed and stuttered "Ti-none. ma-sorry I didn't mean to be disrespectful to you." He immediately turned his body. "The voice sounds even softer than before."Benak Mary's.

From behind the wooden bulkhead that borders it. Alice could guess what Mary meant. "The cultivators who train their souls and bodies can maintain their youthful endurance, even I myself have lived up to five hundred years and still look young."

With a steady amount of energy in the body, muscles and blood circulation will regenerate more easily and smoothly. There were even some cultivators who did not need to sleep or eat and only meditated.
