Gorgeous Jewel

Gorgeous Jewel
Chapter V Chapter 186

Baal still could not eliminate the anxiety that lingered in his chest. When Astaroth had gone away. He was still observing Alice from the sky.

Seeing that human girl was like something fun for him. A sense of attraction that should have never existed and never felt before, slowly arose in him especially in the human girl.

On his way to the city of Babylon, the herd of merchants was intercepted by desert bandits.

The adventurers who were in their group swiftly acted and fought the bandits.

Baal saw their fight go well. Yeah, it should be like that. Unfortunately, after a while, the rogues leader began to give his cue and called out to the other members who were hiding not far from there.

The adventurers were having a hard time because of their sheer number. They might be able to fight two to three people and protect themselves, but not with the herd of merchants who were behind them.

Baal continued to take their fight seriously. He waited for the human girl to move. When he first met her, Baal knew from his gaze that she was no ordinary human.

As the rogues managed to restrain the movements of the three adventurers, their other members rushed to snatch the merchants' luggage.

Fear crept into their faces. If they tried to resist, they would definitely be killed. However...how could they lose this much merchandise?

The situation becomes unfavorable. Alice and Elysia jump off their camels and face the rogues who are trying to get close. The distance of their power difference was quite large, they only won an amount. In the eyes of both, the number of those who are tens of remains will not change anything. Their defeat was decided from the beginning.

Baal was astonished to see the human girl fighting so well. His fighting style and technique are so stunning. Baal's gaze grew more focused and only saw him as one. His eyes were unblinking and as if a magnetic force was pulling him, Baal felt like he wanted to come down to take a closer look.

"Technique that..."

The nostalgic beat made his heart stop beating for a moment.

"Why do I feel like I've seen him..." Baal muttered in his head.

Soon, the thieves ran away. Many of those who died were in vain especially those who fought against Alice. If Alice had allowed Elysia or Fee to chase after them, all the thieves would have perished. But Alice has other plans. He gave a sign to one of them.

"I'll deal with them later." Her thought.

Alice and the others continued on their way.

The heat of the sun that accompanied their journey now changed to night. The herd of traders looked exhausted especially with the ambush last afternoon. It was a cold night and their bodies were unable to continue their journey. They decided to find a resting place.

After they found a suitable place to rest near the rocks, they released all the weight on their shoulders.

They began to set up tents and light embers. The merchants took out their food for dinner.

After dinner is over. The three adventurers turned around and approached Alice. The three put on an amazed face. Their eyes shone looking at him. Alice's and Elysia's incredible fight has them drawn to both.

They also ventured and invited Alice and Elysia to join their group. Alice refused.

Asha, Zeke and Palu. The three adventurers were a little disappointed. But they understood and did not have to impose their will.

However, Zeke who is the leader of their group tries to take Alice's heart. He was blown away when he saw Alice fighting beautifully.

Zeke has a face that looks quite handsome than the people Alice had met while she was in Amira. From the looks of it, Zeke may look still in his twenties.

What is that man doing? The simple question arose in Baal's mind when he saw a man approaching the human girl.

It turned out that he was still watching Alice from afar.

This demon god from another world seemed to have already turned into a stalker. His patience was commendable as he was able to endure from day to night.

Zeke gently invited Alice to speak. He told me many things about adventurers. He also reveals the location of the treasure and dungeon so that Alice remains interested in listening to him.

Alice did not want to be disrespectful. He had to hold his face and listen to Zeke. Although actually what Zeke said is not all boring. Alice enjoyed it when she talked about the treasure and the location of the dungeon in the city of Babylon.

If from the view of others, their conversation may seem one way, because only Zeke continues to talk and find a way to melt the atmosphere. While Alice only replied to him with a few short words, a nod or a smile.

Asha and Palu stared at each other and raised both shoulders they saw Zeke's efforts.

Well, let him try. Think they.

Asha, a young girl and Palu, a man old enough to be called an Uncle. Their group might look simple but they fought well. The three understood each other so that they could cover each other's flaws.

Meanwhile, Baal frowned. There was an unpleasant feeling that made him uneasy. His breath seemed to be suffocating. The more he saw the man approaching the human girl, the stronger his heart beat.

Irritating! Baal glared at the man. He turned around to leave them. Baal did not understand the turmoil of taste that was cultivating within him. The more he survives there, the stranger he becomes to himself.

"When I met him, I found it difficult to control these emotions. As a demon god, I have long since erased all of these meaningless feelings. In exchange for gaining strength, I threw away everything that could bother me. But why did the girl give me such a warm feeling and calm me down when I saw her." Baal was stunned lowered his head while holding his right chest.

Under the beautiful moonlight and the flickering stars that decorate the night. Baal was glued in the shade of the sky with a feeling of dilemma. The mixed feeling became a mess.

"Should I destroy him so that he wouldn't get in my way?" Baal narrowed his eyes as he looked towards where Alice was.

After dawn, the herd continued until they finally arrived in Babylon.

Thanks to the help of Zeke and his companion, Alice and Elysia were able to enter the city of Babylon with ease. Not only in the city of Amira, but their group turned out to be famous also in the city of Babylon.

After separating from the merchant herd and Wind Gale's group. Alice and Elysia went looking for an inn and they headed to the adventurer guild.

"Are we going to sign up to be adventurers?" Elysia asked Alice upon their arrival in front of the guild building.

"Yes. It seems like being an adventurer has many benefits. I was once a bounty hunter in the kingdom of the deemon race, I guess their ranking system might not be much different."

"Paid hunter?"

Elysia knew that the bounty hunters were a desperate group of people. They are indeed strong and often overreact by hunting down powerful monsters even stronger than them. Elysia did not think that her mother was one of those people.

"Then what level are you at?"

Elysia was shocked with wide eyes as Alice showed her her adamantine badge.

"Hehe~" Alice smiled widely. "Look at you, your mother is a professional hunter" she said with a proud expression.

"Before I left the kingdom of the deemon race, I made a great contribution by defeating Cecillion." Benak Alice's. "Not only that, Rose even gave me a lot in return when I returned Cecillion to her alive. Well. even though I crippled her."

Not only was his mother a hunter but he was actually a high ranking hunter.

Although the land of the elves and the deemon race was a very long distance away. But they are only separated by ravines and steep roads that are quite difficult to pass. So it is still possible for some people to cross that border.

Based on the stories circulating, adamantine rank is the highest rank after platinum.

How many more secrets do you have, Mom?

There are many things Elysia wants to ask. He became enthusiastic and wanted to hear his mother's story while she was still a hunter.

"Next time I'll tell you. Now we better go in and register first."

Elysia nodded in agreement then walked after Alice.

The first time they stepped foot through the door. The people in the room turned around.

Unfriendly faces with sharp, questionable eyes glared at them.

"Hmm.I remember the first time I registered as a hunter." Said Alice in her mind as she glanced through the entire room.

Elysia looked around. "Wah~ mom, they look so good." His whisper.

Alice smiled. He said softly to Elysia. "Don't say that. Even though they look like that. But they hold a high sense of solidarity."

Are adventurers and hunters different? Alice thought they had the same concept.

Although they are not much different from the name of a freelancer, but their organization has fairly strict rules against each member. One of them is the prohibition to kill each other members. They were not even allowed to fight haphazardly except through a fair duel and had been approved.

Alice recalled the incident when she showed her strength in front of everyone at the time. Due to his rank and strength, the guild head could not do much to him even though he was violent towards the other hunters.

"They started it too. I'm just doing self-defense." Inner grouse.

The two continued walking towards the reception desk.

Behind the table, a woman with brown skin and shoulder-length black hair greeted the two of them.

"Good afternoon. Can I help you?"

"We want to register to be adventurers." Reply Alice.

The receptionist was silent for a moment. He glanced at Alice and Elysia from top to bottom.

Are they serious? He hesitated a little and asked. "Ee.. are you sure?" The receptionist smiled awkwardly and scratched his cheek.

Elysia nodded quickly. "Of course." The answer.

The receptionist went back to silence and thought while looking at the two. A few seconds later, he sighed and took two cards from his desk drawer and aimed them at Alice and E

"alright. But before you fill this card. I will explain about the matters concerning adventurers."

Slowly and in great detail, the woman began to explain everything in detail.
