After coming out of the forest, Alice and the others finally got a place to camp. Alice and Echidna prepared coals to warm their bodies and then began a simple meal, while the merchant's uncle took some sheets of cloth to use as a blanket.
When the merchant uncle got down from the carriage and saw Fee's large body, he immediately wanted to go back inside but Alice immediately stopped him by saying "It's okay Uncle. He's not dangerous." As he thrust a bowl of hot soup at the merchant's uncle. "Let's go, the soup is done."
Seeing Alice so certain, the uncle decided to join them. He turned around with a trembling body, stepped slowly and picked up the soup Alice offered him. "Thank you." Alice smiled gently.
The eyes of the merchant uncle kept glancing sideways, he still could not let go of the horrified feeling if the big wolf were to prey on him and swallow him round and round.
The other is Echidna. After they enjoyed dinner. Echidna had actually been watching Fee since the moment he followed their entourage. Her eyes were the same as Alice's when she looked at Fee. Echidna was also curious and interested in stroking the soft-looking Fee's fur. Moreover, in his heart there was a desire to immediately ride him looking at his body that was so big and warm.
Echidna pulled up Alice's sleeves who were preparing a bed for her. "What's Echidna?" Alice asked as she looked.
Echidna placed her index finger under her chin and asked Alice. "Mama...What is this big dog called?" He pointed to Fee who was cleaning his slightly dirty face because he had just eaten his dinner.
Fee immediately stopped moving, he was shocked to hear a little boy calling him a dog. Fee raised one eyebrow while turning to look at Echidna. "This boy!!" Fee looks at Echidna annoyed but when Echidna turns to her, she sees something she shouldn't have seen.
Fee or previously named Fenrir has the ability in his eyes that is [Cairvoyance], therefore no one can escape his observation. Clairvoyance is known by another name as the eye of truth. Usually these eyes are only owned by certain people or certain deities. None other than Fee who once also lived among the gods. But because of something, he was forced to bear sins that he never did. Fee harbored that grudge and began to hunt down the Gods who hated him one after another and after quite a long hunt, he finally drowned in a trap by a god who turned out that God was also the mastermind of the bitterness of his life.
Fee's hair stood up as her eyes and Echidna's eyes met each other. He saw a pair of eyes and a figure that was so terrifying behind that plain look of eyes. The feeling he got was something that was quite familiar yet he forgot and could not explain the frightening feeling. Clearly he was afraid, his guts shrunk. "This boy, he's not my opponent." Fee immediately turned his eyes away. His eyes were still trembling and cold sweat from behind his fur was flowing on the side of his face. "Y-yeah, at least maybe I can defeat him if I use all my strength." He tried to cover up the fear within him, even though it was deep within him, he realized that Echidna was much stronger than him.
Alice, who did not notice Fee's strange attitude, just smiled and nodded at Echidna, confirming Echidna's statement about Fee being called a dog.
"Just as you guys." Fee said with a lethargic look then turned his back to the two. Fighting was useless, it was better to just let them think as they pleased. That's how he thought.
After a short night and their company had rested. Their next trip to the capital went smoothly. All of that was thanks to Fee who looked terrifying to the monsters with his huge body and the terrifying aura he exuded.
"Fee. Can you change your size to be smaller?" Alice asked as she looked at the city walls in the distance.
Seeing the cute and adorable Fee Alice almost jumped out of her chair and hugged the wolf cub in front of her. Unfortunately, Echidna first moves to take Fee and hold it tightly.
"Wah~ cute puppy." Her speech was full of excitement as she stroked her cheeks on Fee's stomach. Fee was completely powerless to resist.
Soon after, they finally reached Demonscar City.
Alice with her daughter and Fee parted ways with the merchant's uncle. After entering Demonscar city, Alice immediately set her goal. He looked for lodging and then to the library. Alice felt there was something in the city that might have brought her closer to the way home she had been looking for.
As Alice wanted to leave her room, Echidna called out to her from behind. "Mama..I want to come, okay?" Echidna looked at him with a hearty expression.
Alice was silent for a moment. The real reason he never took Echidna to the library was because the place was boring. Full of books and nothing interesting for kids. Alice felt that such a place was incompatible with the vivacious and carefree personality of her daughter. But how should he reject her when he sees Echidna's face? His pity made it hard for his feet to step out of the room. Alice had to stretch out her hand. "Alright, come here."
Echidna smiled widely and happily jumped from the bed into Alice's arms. "Thank you mama."
In the end, they went to the library.
~
"I know you guys want to go to the library but why should I come with you?!" Fee was a little annoyed as he also had to be dragged into this boredom. For him, enjoying a nap lying on a warm floor is an irreplaceable comfort. When else try he can relax like that.
Fee looked at Alice cynically. "Okay, I can accept the fact that you guys dragged me forcibly to this place but do I have to constantly sit here?!" He was upset because he was not comfortable with his seat at the moment. Fee himself had unknowingly changed his style of speech to the mother and child.
"Shhhhh!" Echidna held back her almost-open headscarf as she placed her index finger in front of her lips. "Fee, don't move. Quiet." Echidna said slowly.
Fee breathed his heavy breath. Somehow he was a little sorry he had chosen to come with them.
