It was hard for Ernard to believe that the little girl was the one who fought and finished off the monsters that attacked his residence. And he was even more incredulous when Liana said that the little girl was the daughter of Alicia Lein Strongfort.
When he found out that one of his favorite daughters had children, his head immediately boiled. He felt that someone out there who he didn't know had taken his daughter without him noticing.
"Dear, relax. We haven't listened to the boy's explanation. Alice couldn't have had a child like her." Liana said in a soft voice.
"All right, I get it." Ernard sighed.
Echidna ate so well. He looks adorable in front of them. Especially when the food in his little mouth was not exhausted and he still put his food again. Her cheeks bulged like a small mammal which made her look cute and cute.
Beside her, Iris stood with her anxious eyes wanting to pinch those chewy smooth cheeks. She had slightly forgotten how her brother looked as a child but the little creature before her looked like a living doll.
Echidna put the last mouthful into her mouth. It's been a long time since I've tasted such good food. Liana came to her side and wiped her messy mouth from the food stain.
"Thank you grandma." Liana smiled when she heard that soft, warm voice.
"She was really similar to Alice when she was a child. I don't know what happened, but how could my daughter do such a shameful thing." Ernard's inner dilemma felt like he wanted to scream.
Even though her daughter had failed her and became a woman who was less ethical, but she was sure that Alice could not do anything beyond morals. Moreover, given Alice's one hundred and eighty degree nature change, it was obvious that this added to her confidence.
"But what if it's true." Ernard shook his head. His mind was still in the fog due to anxiety.
Ernard. Echidna had finished eating and as she raised her head, she saw Ernard sitting in front of her. He tilted his head and said.
"Hmm..grandfather?"
A sudden attack from Echidna's little face hit his heart. The innocent girl looked at him directly with an innocent look.
"No. Focus. I have to ask the truth first." Benak Ernard's.
"Is it true Alicia Lein Strongfort is your mother" Ernard asked without further ado.
Echidna. "Who's your father?" Ernard asked.
Echidna shook her head making both of Ernard's eyes widen and Liana held her breath in shock.
They thought that the little girl was so sorry for not knowing who her father was.
"Is he an adopted child? But she's so similar to Alice?" Ernard's mind is still raging.
"alright. When and how were you born? Are you really my daughter's biological son?"
Echidna shook her head. This made the three men astonished.
Echidna did not know what to answer. According to what he knew, he and Alice both had blood. He was convinced the moment his memory had returned and researched about what made his form change when it came apart from within the seal.
Vaguely in his memory while he was still shackled in the seal belonging to the hero. At that time, he only remembered that someone had reached out to him. Shackled, Echidna felt the man's hands so warmly touching his skin.
When he fell into deep hatred and resentment, the hand of the man gently stroked his head and removed the chain that bound him so easily as to pull a rope.
As the man's hand carried him past a blinding speck of light. Echidna had woken up and saw Alice lying helplessly on the ground.
"This woman...." Echidna smelled a familiar smell, she also felt a tremor in her heart when she saw Alice. As he approached her, the warmth of Alice's body as she touched his arm made her feel comfortable. That's when she starts to like Alice and clings to her.
After that incident, Echidna occasionally imagined the memory of his past but he was afraid. She was scared because the memory felt terrible for her and she was more afraid that when the memory returned, she would lose herself as the daughter of Alicia Lein Strongfort. His existence refused those memories to come to the surface.
Echidna often examines the flow of Mana in him. He felt a strange energy as it suppressed those terrifying memories. Echidna is always plagued with misgivings. But the gentleness and warmth of that energy once in a while helped him to calm down. Until at one time, someone tried to pull out the figure hidden behind the terrible memory.
Echidna was forced to retreat. What is the power when the owner of the body comes, he can only hope that his future self does not do something that makes him regret for life.
A fake! The regret was real and came to his side.
He lost the light of his life.
Wh why? Why are you so stupid?! Why did you realize it for so long?! What good is this world without him?!
Echidna cursed herself loudly when she saw Alice lying stiffly on her lap.
"It's all in the past..." Echidna said in her mind.
"I can't explain. It's a little complicated." Answer Echidna. He then remembered that he had brought something given by his mother.
He reached into his small bag and took out some purple crystal fruits.
"What if Grandpa asks Mama directly."
"you mean? We're using this thing?" Ernard pointed at the crystal stone.
Echidna. "This is a kind of communication device from the Land of the Elf Race. This thing has been written with a special magic formulation. So, just channel mana and imagine the person we want to contact, then he will reflect the form of that person. Mama also has crystals like this. So when we connect with him the crystal in his hand will definitely light up." Echidna.
"Oh, it's just one-time use. So my mom gave me three. He said it's pretty expensive and it's not enough money to buy a lot."
Ernard, Liana and Iris, his third face became brighter. Is it true they can see their daughter again?
Iris enthusiastically said. "What are you waiting for then. Let's call brother soon."
"good. Put your hands on this crystal and channel your mana and the minds of the people you most want to meet."
Alice.... Alice.... Alice....Older brother..... My daughter.... My beloved daughter....
The purple crystal suddenly shone brightly and grew brighter. A square screen appeared above the crystal before them.
"Uh...Elysia. Is it true like this?"
A woman's voice sounded from the crystal.
The blurry image was slowly getting clearer and the small back of a girl figure seen in front of them almost filled the screen.
A green garden with some beautiful colorful flowers that adorn the surroundings. The beautiful young girl was sitting on a chair right in the middle of the screen.
"How's Ely? Is it good? This is the first time I've used this thing. Uhh, after all this time I was a little awkward to meet my family."
The figure of the golden-yellow-haired young girl with her timid attitude was seen on the screen tidying up her hair and clothes.
Happy tears wet Liana's cheeks. She wanted to laugh at her daughter's awkward funny behavior, but longing and happy and sad were mixed up in her chest.
Liana closed her mouth while shedding tears. Alice is really alive.
Ernard smiled with relief after hearing the voice he had long since missed and the face he had always had in his mind.
Iris wiped away the tears in the corner of her eyes. "Did I say, my brother must be alive." His mind.
When people were convinced that Alice was dead, it was just her, she was the only one who held the promise when they parted. Alice has promised him that she will return home one day and Iris believes that her brother will definitely still be alive and will return.
"How's Ely, did it start?"
A girl with elongated pointed ears was seen inside the screen. She squatted down in front of Alice, seemingly helping Alice tidy up her hair and clothes.
The silver-haired girl was no less beautiful than Alice. Her face was so radiant with smooth skin and beautiful dazzling hair that was extended to her waist.
The girl hugged Alice tightly. "It's over." He said while raising his thumb. "Now you look so much prettier."
