Gorgeous Jewel
Chapter IV Chapter 143

After touching the elf woman's forehead with her index finger. Alice enters her subconscious.

Like an endless dark sea. Many small bubbles floated before her eyes, which were fragments of the elf woman's memories. Alice approached them and saw one by one what was inside. When he touched her just a little, the memories of the elven woman flowed into his head.

"There's something weird about this bubble." Alice wondered in her mind. The memories he had just seen were happy and should be joyful but he didn't get those emotional feelings.

Depressed feeling? Regret or what? Alice sensed that something was strange that made it hard to understand.

Alice dived into the subconscious of the elf woman while occasionally looking at what memories were stored in the bubbles before her.

"Already I guess, even sweet memories do not give any happy feelings. Everything feels bland. I'm sure something's wrong here."

If you are well noticed. How could the fond memories placed within his dark-looking subconscious feel gloomy. The pressure around him even felt a little stifling to the chest.

Alice continued to dive down. There were more bubbles but their colors were a little darker than the ones he had seen before.

As he approached, he heard screams coming from inside the bubbles.

"PLEase...!"

"I'm sorry."

"No. It's not my fault."

"Huhuhu..mom..! Mother...! help me.."

"Mother...where are you..? I'm afraid.."

The voice of the little girl whining fearfully pierced through her ears. Not only that, Alice also heard the slurs and swearing from many people on the little girl. The girl's sobbing was deep and kept calling out to her mother.

Alice shook her head. He frowned. "What has this woman ever experienced to so much as to bear so many wounds?"

Alice tried to see what was really going on in the bubbles, but when she touched them, they just burst.

"cracked?! They're not the same as the previous bubbles."

Alice tried it again with another bubble but the result remained the same. He could not see what was behind it yet he could hear it.

"none. Then, I'll have to dive even further."

And so Alice went deeper into the subconscious of the elven woman.

It gets darker and heavier. Negative feelings from the woman's subconscious even affect her. Alice squeezed her left chest which was suddenly painful. He realized that the pain was not his but that of the elf woman.

Alice continued down the dark sea of consciousness that belonged to the elf woman until she saw other small bubbles that were deep black.

The numbers are not many but they look denser and slightly larger than the previous bubbles.

"Is this the end? Could all those negative emotions be coming from here?" He muttered as he glanced around.

Alice turned back and looked at the black bubble curiously. He slowly moved his finger to touch the bubble before him.

"There's no more time. Take the others and get the hell out of here."

"Then what about you?"

Alice who was quite far away in the depths of the forest heard the frenzied cries of the people. He opened his eyes slowly. "Where am I? What is this place?" Ask him in a lying state.

After touching the black bubble, he was suddenly in a very different place.

"This is not the city of Moonshade. Is this a place in the elf woman's memory?"

Alice immediately turned around when she saw a bright light from her left side. A fire blazing so high soared into the sky. He got up and rushed to the fire.

Upon arrival, he saw only the remains of a small village that had been ravaged. Burned houses and some elven corpses were lying on the ground.

"From their wounds, this did not look like an attack from an elf or a bandit group. Rough wounds, it indicates that they died not because of a sharp weapon or magic. Most likely, this village has been attacked by a group of beasts or monsters." Mumbled.

Alice looked around the place looking for survivors, but she found no one.

"Only one person caught my attention. The corpse of this elf woman looked familiar." He said as he turned his head and approached the corpse of an elven woman.

Although the corpse of the elf woman was silver-haired, but she was not the elf woman he had met inside Yggdrasil. Wearing a light steel armor that covered several parts of her body, the elf woman died in a position to lean herself against a wooden pole.

"From the pile of monster corpses in front of him, I'm sure he must have tried very hard to fight them." From the former fight, Alice was convinced that the elf woman was fighting them alone.

Alice was amazed by his persistence. He also wanted to take the body of the elf woman and planned to bury her along with the other victims.

As his hand was about to grab the elf woman's shoulder, a lump of stone lunged towards her head. Alice caught the stone in her hand. He looked to the side and saw a little girl who also had silver hair.

"Is she the mother of this child? They both look alike." Her thought.

"Stay away from my mother!" Shouted the boy while pointing a small wooden block with one of its sharp edges.

"Surely she was his daughter." Benak Alice's.

"M-get away from him or I'll.will.m-me-kill you!" Strictly even though he himself stood in a trembling state.

The elf girl stared intently at Alice. Alice smiled and looked at him with a shady face. "He's not daunted. He was afraid and convinced that he did not have the ability to resist, but his eyes showed no doubt."

Alice backed away from the elven woman's corpse. He raised both hands up to show that he did not have any weapons on the little girl. "Calm down, I won't hurt you. Is she your mother? I just wanted to bury him. I was a wanderer who happened to pass by." Alice softly.

The little girl seemed hesitant about what Alice said, but she lowered her hand slowly. The little girl let go of her guard because she did not feel any threat from Alice.

The little girl looked at both of her feet. His shoulders trembled again and he cried.

Alice felt sorry to see the little girl. He walked behind her. Putting both of her hands on the girl's shoulders, then stroked her back and gently stroked her head.

Alice then held him. A warm feeling seemed to fill the hearts of the two.

"It's not wrong, she's an elven woman who's in Yggdrasil." His mind.

"Cry, there's no need to hold it. You can cry as hard as you can." Alice's gentle whisper to him.

The cry of the little girl became even more so. He shed all his tears and sadness. He raised his face to the sky then screamed in his cries.

"Huhuhu, mom....! Mother...! Huwaa! Mum....!"

This was just a memory from the elf woman's past, but she was like standing here, the day that the elf woman was still a little girl. She was like witnessing everything in person and sharing the same feelings as the girl.

"It's just a memory, but it feels so real."
