Chapter II Chapter 55

Alice raised her sword which had been coated in Qi. He then slashed the iron bars that locked Lilia. Before the iron fell, he caught it and put it on the ground. Lilia who looked down, was astonished that a black shadow was approaching her and blocking the light of the lamp.

He raised his head, saw the paladin bent down and was right in front of his face. Lilia flinched backwards instantly in shock, but her legs were blocked by the chains binding her hands. "Yeah!" Before he fell to the ground, the paladin immediately caught him.

The paladin looked at him then said. "Lilia, it's me."

These sounds? Lilia was wide-eyed to hear that familiar voice in her ears. The paladin who caught and hugged him turned out to be his best friend.

"Alice?!"

Alice lifted her face guard and smiled sweetly. "Yes, it's me. Alice."

Lilia was happy, she put both her hands in front of her lips because she was happy and could not believe that she could see Alice.

Nah! It's not!

Lilia shook her head and brushed off that happy feeling. Why is Alice here? How'd he do it? Isn't this place dangerous?

"Alice! You-you why are you here?"

"Hmmm..." Alice placed her index finger in front of her lips. He removed Lilia from his hand and raised his sword again. Alice took a swing, with a quick slash, the chain that tied Lilia's hand fell on the ground.

"Lilia, Come. We're out of here." Gently invite Alice to extend her hand.

"Since when has this spoiled girl become so cool?" Benak Lilia was instantly amazed. Alice looked so dazzling in her eyes.

Lilia grabbed Alice's hand, both of them then immediately left the basement. As planned, Alice gave Lilia the robe she had previously worn. They walked past the guards so easily. Although a few pairs of eyes might have seen Lilia who was wearing a priest robe with a questioning gaze, but they became convinced because of the paladin figure that was in front of her. His presence was more like that paladin was guiding him.

Both of them were grateful that they were able to come out so easily. The night is still quite long, Alice intends to immediately take Lilia away and return to pay Cliff for his previous actions. But, Lilia refused it. "I want to see the Temple Head. I feel like something bad happened to her."

Alice slightly nodded because of that. Temple head? Didn't he design all this? Alice looked at Lilia's face carefully. "He really wants to come back." Alice took a long breath. "All right." The answer. Her heart never doubted Lilia, other than because they were friendly, Lilia was also the one who knew the most about her.

They both sneak back. Their search was made easy by the disguise they were still wearing.

Lilia who was walking in front continued to lead Alice towards the innermost room of the Temple. The very back room on the first floor where the Temple Head usually prayed or meditated.

"Front there." He pointed to the only door in front of him. He sped up and followed Alice.

Unfortunately when Lilia wanted to enter the room, the door was locked and worse, the door had been fitted with a sealing magic circle which could neutralize any kind of magic and reflect physical attacks.

Lilia was running out of ideas. The magic circle covered the entire room, even the walls had been blocked.

Alice shook her head looking at Lilia's so anxious attitude. His face looks wrinkled. "He still had time to worry about others in this kind of messy condition." His inner.

Alice pulled Lilia back, "Let me try."

"But Alice, magic won't work even physical attacks won't work." Clearly Lilia was trying to stop Alice from wasting her energy.

"Lilia, can you sense where others are?"

"Of course, that's the basic thing. In fact, as a Saintess, I can judge the level of their strength and the Element match they have."

"I want you to feel the Mana in my body."

"Ah, um, okay." Lilia closed her eyes and looked inside Alice. Right in her heart, Lilia was shocked as she did not feel the Mana energy that should have encircled Alice's heart. When a person's heart is protected by a circle of Mana, then it is referred to as Mana Heart so that people who have Mana Heart have the ability to use the Mana around them or in their bodies into a magic.

"Alice..." Lilia's lips trembled, She saw Alice so in disbelief. How could?

Alice nodded slowly. "I lost my Mana Heart at the time I was unconscious and escaped the assassination attempt. Perhaps, for the sake of saving my life, the entire Mana in my body was automatically used up even until my Mana Heart disappeared."

Lilia pulled Alice's head and grabbed it. "You, it turns out you've fought so hard." He could not imagine how sad Alice was when she lost her Mana Heart which was also her pride as a noble.

Both of Alice's eyes lifted as Lilia hugged her. For a moment Alice fell silent and felt a warmth in her heart.

"Had enough hugs. Maybe I'll fall asleep because I'm too comfortable." Canda Alice released herself from Lilia's embrace.

Lilia puffed her cheeks pouting. She could not help her little laugh anymore. Alice really became a much different person.

"Then, let me give it a try, you'll be amazed at how powerful I am right now."

"Umm. Do it, I want to see it too." Reply Lilia, she then took a step back behind Alice. The doubt in his heart was gone when he knew how much Alice could do and saved him.

Alice took the stance of the horses. He bent his upper body slightly. Gathering Qi on one of her palms, Alice then struck the door.

[ The Freezing Palm ]

The cold energy pierced through the magic circle seal installed on that door. The cold air freezes the door quickly and is destroyed by Alice's attack.

Alice looked at Lilia. He showed a satisfied and proud expression. "How is it, great isn't it?"

Lilia clapped her hands, she nodded "Um, great great."

After joking around, the two entered the room. They were greeted by Cliff and a large crystal stone. There was also a statue of the Goddess that was behind the crystal stone.

"Temple Head!" Shouted Lilia looking at a woman who was inside the crystal. Lilia ran in a hurry without paying attention to her surroundings. Surely Cliff who stood not far from the crystal did not stay still and directly attacked Lilia.

[ The Purgatory ]

Fortunately Alice's reaction was so quick and immediately attracted Lilia. Different fire colors burn stone floors.

"White and very hot." Alice muttered who was also surprised by the attack.

"Cliff, what are you doing?!" Lilia shouted not expecting that Cliff would attack her just like that. He really wanted to kill her.

"I am only following the orders of the Goddess. I won't let anyone interfere with this ceremony."

"The ceremony? Don't be fooled, you are fooled by the figure of the Goddess. She's not Gaia."

"Shut up!" Cliff swung his hand to the side. He walked closer to the big crystal. "The Goddess has given me her revelation. With the holy power possessed by the Temple Head, then he will descend to earth and purify this stained world again." He spread both of his hands to the side. Cliff laughs "Alicia Lein Strongfort, you're a sinner and Liliana Matilda, the traitorous Saintess of mankind." He continued to appoint Alice and Lilia.

Cliff walked up and stood before them, looking haughtily at Alice and Lilia. "I'll punish you myself." Then a white wing emerged from one of his backs.
