Gorgeous Jewel

Gorgeous Jewel
Chapter II Chapter 42

He saw his mother's weak body lying on the bed. Young Kevin has no power to hold back his tears. He clasped his mother's hand that was getting colder. Kevin cried as he clasped his mother's hand to his forehead.

A few days later, when he attended a tea party held by one of his friends. Kevin heard the mothers of several families gossiping about his mother and the Queen. Kevin was shocked, his feelings became numb when his ears accidentally heard that everything that happened to his mother was the work of the Queen.

Although he was still so young, Kevin understood about the bad rumors circulating that were completely unfounded. He held himself back with a chaotic feeling. Kevin decided to say goodbye to his friend and went home early.

Day after day passed, but his mother's condition never healed. His mother's face began to turn pale, his body looked thinner. What the hell is going on with Mom? Anxious Kevin in his mind. Kevin who is still quite innocent and naive does not realize that his mother has been poisoned through food delivered to him.

The servants who were in the royal palace that used to be so good with them suddenly turned around showing a cold back. The light of hope slowly faded with the cynical gazes of the servants who often looked at him as he passed by them. Gossip after gossip about his mother's bad behavior began to appear everywhere.

Wh why? Wh why? Wh why?

Kevin ran while shedding tears. With great difficulty, the young body that had not experienced so much the world's bitterness climbed dozens of steps into his mother's room. The dark and silent passageway felt cold to the bottom of his heart.

What is the Tower of Hope? What romantic part of this place?

When he opened the door, he was greeted with a warm smile that made his heart melt and feel calm.

"Kevin..what's up?" Her mother's soft caresses when Kevin arrives and runs to hide her face by her mother's bedside.

"Mothers...Why are they doing this to mom? Don't you love us anymore?"

Kevin sobbed with tears that kept flowing down his cheeks.

"Don't love.., your father loves you, everyone loves you however, the situation your Father is going through this time is more complicated." Speak softly from those paled lips.

"Then why don't you get Mom out of this place? Why didn't Eliza's mother ever see her?"

His mother could only laugh softly and showed a bitter smile on her face. He himself did not understand what was happening at this moment. They accused him of poisoning the Queen, even when he realized the Queen or her best friend Elizabeth had said nothing after that day. Their relationship seemed to stretch without him noticing.

Emilia looked out the window from her bed. He imagined the expression of Elizabeth who saw him when he was taken to the Tower. Those cold, emotionless eyes were not Elizabeth who had long been her best friend. Feeling that something is wrong with his best friend and the royal environment. Emilia could only accept all the bitter accusations and wait for the King to keep his promise to release her. Unfortunately.tomorrow for Emilia where she regained her freedom never came.

That night the Palace was in a state of grief. But under the wet sky, only Kevin left staring at his mother's tombstone with sadness. After the funeral was over, everything just passed.

Kevin stood up as he sobbed at the sudden departure of his mother. No one is holding him, no one is embracing him. He felt his world was gone. The coldness that enveloped him gripped his heart and made it freeze.

That deep sadness slowly turned into hatred. His hands clenched over his mother's tombstone. He promises to take revenge and uncover the truth of all the false accusations thrown at his mother.

Day after day goes on. Since his mother's death, young Kevin has been cold and hard. His eyes grew sharper and his mouth was less and less likely to speak, especially with the people in the palace including the King and Queen. Kevin put a deep hatred for them especially the Queen.

"As friends, not even a single tear came out of your eye when I saw my mother buried." Kevin muttered when he saw Elizabeth.

For his revenge, Kevin trained hard every day, forming his army and digging his achievements alone.

"Do you know that you and my mom are saying the same thing." Kevin breathed his heavy breath. "Honestly, I didn't know what my mother said. He only said that phrase the last time I saw him."

Kevin still bent down and closed his eyes with one of his hands. The bitter memory that returned to spin because he heard the same sentence with his mother who was still ringing in his ears.

The valiant and coldly famous Prince was sitting in a limp and indecisive state in front of him. Alice looked at the sturdy body as helpless "What she had been doing all this time was just an attempt to protect her fragile heart." Benak's a little worried.

Looking at the figure that fell in front of him. Alice subconsciously reached out her hand and stroked Kevin's hair slowly.

Kevin flinched, he fell silent for a moment before putting away his hand and looking at Alice's smiling face.

Kevin looked at Alice in wonder and so did Alice who lightened her head while looking into Kevin's eyes who was also surprised.

"Hmmm....."

Not long after, Alice regained her senses and immediately pulled her hand from Kevin's head. Alice chuckled in embarrassment.

"Aiya...I'm in the habit of doing it until I forget myself." His mind knocked on one side of his head.

He used to do that to appease his sister, Feeling that she was still the Female Emperor and the Great Master made him forget that she was only the young girl of a Duke in this life.

Alice waved both of her hands in front of him with an awkward smile. "Eh...I.that's.no mean..."

"Thank you." Said Kevin slowly.

"Eh...?"

Kevin got up from his seat and walked towards the door. Without a word, he reached the door and opened it.

"Did I really mention it?" Think Alice.

Kevin stepped out and closed the door. But only a few seconds later he opened the door again and said. "Thank you for the dinner, Miss Alicia. I wish we could meet again and talk more."

That way Kevin closed the door and stepped down leaving Alice wondering in her head. "Ah....I think he's okay." He murmured while lifting both shoulders.

On one side, Kevin walked down the stairs while occasionally holding his head.

What was that? Kevin felt a little warm in his heart. Somehow he felt that tonight he could sleep well until morning. Kevin smiled faintly leaving the tower.
