"Stop there!" Shouted a guard from above the fort walls. The guard came down to them.
"Yang-hem. Apparently asiya. I'm sorry to be so rude, if I may know who this girl is?" The guard glanced at Alice questioningly on his face.
"He's my friend, Alice. Uncle guard, can I take him into the city?"
A heavy expression appeared on the guard's face. His eyes implied that a stranger like Alice should not enter the city.
"Can't you?" Asiya asked with a smile on her face.
The guard shuddered as he looked at Asiya's smile. From her point of view Alice did not see clearly the eyes of the Elf girl she had just saved as she gently pleaded. The guard cleared his throat and said."Uh.ahaha. T-of course I can. Go ahead. Welcome to the city of Moonshade." Greet him a little late.
"Thank you uncle." Reply Asiya. They also passed through the city gates.
Alice turned around for a moment, narrowing her eyes at the back of the guard who was scratching the back of her head and sighing. Alice also looked around the tight gate filled with the guard of the elven warriors.
"Even the atmosphere in this city feels strange." His inner. Even the girl beside him gave him an awkward feeling.
"What's wrong? Have you noticed it?" Asiya asked suddenly as she saw Alice speechless from the corner of her eyes. "The kingdom is not okay. Maybe about six months ago, suddenly something terrible happened to the Yggdrasil tree."
"Yggdrasil?"
"That big tree." Asiya pointed towards the tall tree trunk that soared into the sky. "The tree of life where all the elven races take shelter under it."
The two continued walking while talking. Asiya then offers Alice to stop for a moment at a tavern to continue their conversation more casually.
"Mama.there's something that smells from this place." Said Echidna who had been silent since.
When the two are talking. Echidna was not merely silent because she did not want to talk. Unless he felt something terrible. The polluted energy that was strong enough flowed and was like shadowing the place. Especially when he saw the Yggdrasil tree designated by Asiya. Echidna's instincts clearly say that something dangerous is lurking in the kingdom.
Asiya laughed awkwardly. "It seems your daughter can feel it too."
Alice did not understand. It may be due to their differences in strength or due to their different sensitivity to mana.
"Let me explain a little bit to you about our land and what has happened..."
Like the deemon race, the elven race also consisted of several tribes. Each tribe has its own place of residence. Among them are the Moon Elf Tribe or commonly also referred to as Dark elves. They lived in the dark depths of the forest and the dark elves were more active at night. Sometimes they can also be found in the city when they are in business or just walking around. With a special feature that their skin is dark in accordance with the name of their tribe.
Next, the pixies or the fairies. Different from the other elves. The pixie there is a type of elf that lives around the Yggdrasil tree. Usually they build their houses on the branches of Yggdrasil or the flowers that grow around the tree. Their size is very small, about 30 or 50 cm. Even so, they had a magic capacity that was greater than the other three elf tribes.
There are also High Elves and ordinary Elves. Both can be said to be the same but the difference is the life span and hair color. If vulnerable the lives of the elves could only reach hundreds of years or a thousand years at most. High efl itself can live up to thousands of years.
"You see this blue hair. The most outstanding feature of High elves was that golden hair that glittered like that." Asiya pointed at Alice's hair. "A little later I thought you were part of the High Elves tribe, but when I noticed you were a human being. I was a little fascinated when I saw your beautiful face and hair." It was clearly Asiya who ended up slightly teasing Alice as she propped her cheeks on the table.
"Then, what happened to the strict inspection at the gate earlier?" Ask Alice.
Asiya again continued with the disaster that had just happened...
Six months ago. No one knows how it started and where it came from. A bird shrouded in black fog fell quickly into the Yggdrasil tree.
At first the elves just thought it was a normal occurrence. But periodically as the days passed, the Mana energy Yggdrasil had started to feel weakened. As heir to royal blood and as the oldest High elf who leads his race. The elf queen felt awkward then ordered someone to check what happened to Yggdrasil.
A government official was ordered to return to the palace with a small black crystal. The official said that the piece of crystal came from one side of Yggdrasil's trunk. The queen was wide-eyed as she sensed the contradictory Mana energy from the black crystal.
Not only did it block the incoming natural Mana energy but the black crystal even absorbed it.
The queen then ordered the royal legions to immediately enter the standby one. 'Yggdrasil's tree is in danger'. The order of blocking around the tree was handed down and the kingdom shut itself off from the outside world. Even it was a little difficult for the elves living outside the fortress to enter due to the strict inspection. The disappearance of the guides in the misty forest surrounding the land of the elves is one proof that their kingdom is going through something bad.
4 Months had passed, but the researchers, sorcerers and scholars of each tribe could not find the cause nor the healer to remove the black crystal. Even worse, those black crystals continued to spread to each side of the tree. Yggdrasil began to weaken further as did the elves living within the kingdom. Elves who coexisted with the forces of nature became slowly losing their magic power.
The Queen could not sleep well. He was drowning in worry.
As morning arrived with stress piling up in his head, a soldier came bearing bad news. The soldier explained that black crystals also began to appear outside the gates in some areas
"Do you know why when we pass through the maple forest we don't see an animal?" Asiya asked with a sad face. "They had been polluted by the black crystal. The beasts we used to hunt if not die from running out of life force, they would have mutated into monsters."
Alice placed her index back under her chin while thinking. He remembered that the appearance of the cockatrice was indeed strange and if he remembered, a wyvern that had attacked him while on the Arkham continent also had the same view. "Do the two have a relationship?" Alice thought suspicious.
Lustful eyes kill and hunger. The two monsters did not even care about the intense pressure from Echidna and still went forward to attack them.
It seems that many secrets are hidden from this incident.
