Gorgeous Jewel
Chapter IV Chapter 147

Alice shook her head and then sighed. "Somehow I became more emotional when it came to Elysia. Could it be because I'm too deep into her subconscious or because I'm getting into her past memories?" Mumbled his mind as he lowered his head.

Alice turned to look at Claus and his family. "I'm sorry I left you guys just like that." Politely said. "Side me to stay for a while when we arrive at this village." He pointed to the house beside him.

Claus and the others fell silent for a moment. Both of their eyes widened after witnessing how Alice defeated the monsters. "I didn't think you were that strong." Claus.

"You're really great, with just one strike being able to defeat those monsters in an instant." Added Claudia.

"Yes right. Are you an adventurer?" Ask Eion.

"Adventurous? What'sthat?" Alice had only heard the term for the first time.

"Didn't you know? These are people who work in a union. When my father and I went to the continent of Regnum, we were escorted by some powerful adventurers. Although their Mana numbers were not many but they still excelled against monsters that were stronger than them by using their physical abilities and fighting techniques." Obviously Eion.

"Hmm.in short they are like hunters." Think Alice. "Maybe you can call me that." The reply to Eion.

"I'm sure you must be a high-ranking adventurer." Eion looked enthusiastic.

Then Alice let them in and sat down. Of course it was a little awkward for him because the house was not his. Then Claus explained that this house belonged to the village head who was none other than Leafa's father and also one of his friends.

Previously, Alice had tidied up as she made dinner for Elysia, hence the house looked better than the first time she and Elysia had come.

"Wait a minute, you must be hungry, I will soon prepare something for you."

Claus and Claudia stared at each other, while their daughter Noel who had just opened her eyes immediately widened in excitement. Hearing they were about to eat, Noel was seen almost jumping from his mother's side. His little stomach could not hold his hunger anymore after a day of not eating.

Claus and Claudia felt a little uneasy, they just smiled awkwardly at Alice while saying. "Sorry to trouble you."

Alice flicked her hand. "No problem, there's plenty of food in this place. I'll be out for a minute to pick up something. You guys don't need to worry, I've put protectors around this house. Whatever monster it is, they won't be able to break through it."

"Thank you again for your kindness." Claus' words represent the feelings of his other family members.

Shortly after Alice left, Leafa finally opened his eyes. "Uh...uh.me...where?" He slowly woke up from his sleep. "What's happened?"

Leafa looked around and found the room to look familiar. "This room.. true! that monster. I need to help you immediately." Leafa frantically jumped out of bed immediately. He ran out of the room and saw Claus with his family.

"Uncle?!"

They stood up in surprise as they did not expect Leafa to come to his senses so quickly. "Leafa's? Thank goodness you were conscious. How are you doing?" Claudia asked who approached her.

"I'm fine, aunt. More importantly, where is my father? We need to help him, he's fighting these monsters alone to protect me." Evidently.

Other than the innocent Noel and not understanding what Leafa meant, the three grim-faced looked at Leafa. Claus breathed his heavy breath. What he wanted to say to the young girl was stuck at the end of his tongue. He doesn't know how to explain it.

"Uncle? Aunty? An eion? You why? What's going on?" Leafa asked in astonishment. The three of them just stared at him. Leafa bit his lips in disappointment. "Do you not want to help me save my father?"

Then he suddenly remembered something. Before he fainted, he remembered that he had been injured by a monster attack. Leafa held onto the side of his stomach, there he felt no pain, even the scar was almost imperceptible. Suddenly he panicked.

What the hell is going on? How long have I been unconscious?

Why try to deny it?

Leafa didn't think that he was asleep long enough. His father's fight against the two monsters had been over since noon. Deep down he could think that his father could not possibly win against the two monsters.

"Ouch!" Leafa crashed into Alice who had just arrived with a bucket of water.

It was good that Alice immediately put away the water so that it would not spill due to Leafa's collision.

"Hmm.you're aware apparently. Hows it? Are you all right?" Ask Alice.

Just like Claus and his family. Leafa stared at the beautiful woman in front of him for quite a long time. "Ma-human?!" Said surprised. "Human? Why is there a hyuman race here?"

His body trembled again, he retreated by dragging his buttocks and then stood back up. His gaze radiated hatred and fear as he looked at Alice. Leafa shook his hand tightly. "Dirty man, what are you doing here?! You...don't tell me that...The monsters' attacks have anything to do with you?" Leafa pointed his tense index finger before Alice's eyes. Unexplained speculations of fear and hatred began to be thrown at him.

Instead, Alice just silently looked at the girl. He understood that Leafa's mind was filled with anxiety because of the bad situation that just happened.

"God! You despicable greedy humans. I don't think, why are you destroying our village so much? Are you not content to take one of our territories and now you are planning to destroy us? Disgusting. Look at your face I-"

"Leafa, enough!" Strictly speaking Claudia.

Leafa was instantly silent. He turned around and saw Claudia walking towards him. "I'm sorry he. He didn't mean it that way." Said slowly.

Claudia was worried that Leafa's words would offend Alice. Other than being the one who had saved her life, Alice was a strong woman they should not offend.

Right now, Alice was the figure they needed. With her strength, Claudia hopes to take shelter under her and ask for her protection. He and Claus have decided to return to the capital, so they desperately need Alice's help.

"Auntie! What did auntie do?!" Leafa asked with an expression of disbelief. Claudia's always gentle aunt had just snapped at her. Impossible.

"Already Leafa. You better sit down and listen to our explanation." Claus.

Leafa wanted to refute but seeing the faces of everyone, he had no choice but to obey them. He really doesn't know what happened.

"I'm glad you're better. But I hope you didn't waste your energy." Alice said as she walked into the kitchen and returned with some dishes.

"Woaaahh...!" Noel's eyes twinkled staring at the grilled meat Alice was serving on the table.

Claus and his family even Leafa also had no power to hold their stomachs.

"Please, there's no need to hesitate." Alice said, then she put down a pot of soup.

The three slowly took out a piece of meat for themselves. Leafa turned his face away. "It looks good, but, but..it's not toxic right? Ugh..."

Seeing the elf girl as if selling expensively, Alice then said. "Eat, I don't put anything in this meal." He poured a bowl of soup on Leafa.

"Nope-no. I don't need to, I'm still full." Reject it, even though it sounds dubious.

Leafa did not expect, although his tongue could lie, unfortunately his stomach said another. The sound of the rumbling that was big enough for them to hear made him only able to silently endure the embarrassment.

"Isn't it? Eat it." Alice again thrusts the soup closer to Leafa.

"Kuh! Alright." Leafa timidly took the soup and a piece of grilled meat to put on his plate. Recalling what she had told Alice before, Leafa felt a little heavy to swallow the food.

He lifted his head and looked at Alice. The two then meet each other and look. Alice smiled and made Leafa immediately bow. He immediately pretended to eat his food voraciously.

A cold yet warm night with a bowl of soup and a piece of grilled meat. Claus and his family enjoyed a simple meal of Alice without any worry in their hearts.
