Gorgeous Jewel

Gorgeous Jewel
Chapter III Chapter 68

After staying overnight, Alice and Echidna bid their farewells to Salvor and Davella. Both of them were grateful for their banquet and hospitality.

"Wear this." Davella gave Alice a pair of robes and glasses.

"It's..." Alice asked in surprise because suddenly Davella gave the two items.

"Use this so you don't get too flashy when you enter the city. Your daughter might not be so eye-catching but you as a hyuman race, you might make people glance at you. Take it easy, we deemons have forgotten all the hate to antagonize each other. Even so, I think there will be some people who will not like it, a hyuman is in the middle of them. You know, the demon race that attacked your city most likely came from an active fighting group. Those of us who seek peace are passive and do not want to cause war anymore." Clearly Davella made Alice nod with a faint smile.

Davella stroked Echidna's head. He patted Alice on the shoulder and hugged her. "His age is still very young. Truly a brave woman." His mind. Davella hopes that if she has a daughter, she wants a princess as beautiful and strong as Alice.

Still curious, Alice wanted to ask one last thing but Davella soon realized her mimicry and said "You don't have to ask anymore, in the city of Ilium there will be a lot of knowledge that can answer your curiosity. Go while the morning is still very cold." Further.

Alice and Echidna started walking away from the village. He turned around once more and waved his hand at Salvor and Davella. Seeing what her mother was doing, Echidna also waved her hand with a cheerful face.

Salvor and Davella are still standing in front of the village gate. They were embracing each other while staring at Alice's small back.

"What if we do too?" Salvor's Whispers on Davella.

Davella's cheeks flushed red, she stomped on Salvor's feet in shame and wanted to hide her feelings. "It's still morning, you idiot. Bawdy." Davella said as she turned her face away and left Salvor.

Salvor sighed at his wife's funny behavior. He scratched his head and then chuckled.

"Woah~ Huge~ Mama.. Look, big wall." Echidna said cheerfully as she pointed at the city's fortress wall that they saw.

"Yes. A great wall."

"Are we going to stay there?"

"Yes, we'll stay there but only for a while."

"while? Where are we going, mama?"

"Hm... I don't know either. I just want to go home." Speak with a narrow tone. Alice turned her gaze away and saw the vastness of the horizon on the horizon. He did not know where his feet should go. Sealed ground where he shouldn't be here. Alice had not found any clues about her next destination.

Alice took Echidna who was holding her hand. They both had worn the brown robe that Davella gave them.

From a distance, Alice could see some people were waiting in line to enter the city. The soldiers were conducting a public inspection in front of the gate to prevent any foreign parties from causing inconvenience within the city.

Fortunately, the queue was not very long. Alice stood in line, when it was her turn, one of the gatekeepers said to her.

"Let down your head cover. We have to check everything."

Is nothing going to happen? Alice was a little nervous. The strength of the two warriors was equivalent to level 5. It might be easy for him to defeat them but what if warriors all over the city came. He is currently in a foreign territory, which is far away from his hometown. If the commotion is awake, as much as possible he hopes not to involve Echidna.

As he thought, his hand restrained above his head. Alice still hesitated but because there was no other way Alice decided to lower her hood.

"Yahoo!!!" A loud scream was heard from the back queue. A woman and several other people were lying face down on the ground trying to protect their bodies from something.

The huge shadow above the sky suddenly came as if covering the sunlight. Alice, Echidna and the others looked up at the figure.

A loud roar rang out to make the people below him panic.

"Wyverns! It was Wyvern! Call for reinforcements and immediately secure the surrounding population." One of the gate guards.

A large starving-looking wyvern was lurking from the sky.

One of the gatekeepers clicked his tongue. "How can a wyvern be in this town?" Asked the guard to himself furiously.

Alice looked at the wyvern closely. He felt a great bloodlust and pressure from a great power. Alice may never have seen a real dragon but if only a wyvern had such abilities, what about a real dragon?

His current strength might be able to withstand that wyvern but he wasn't sure he could win against it. Alice panicked and immediately withdrew Echidna's hand.

"Echidna, let's go. It's dangerous here."

But Echidna did not budge. He stared at the wyvern that kept circling above the sky. His relaxed gaze turned flat then became sharp.

Echidna gritted her teeth at the sight of a wyvern daring to ruin her morning pleasure. Somehow Echidna felt that he was looked down upon by the wyvern. Echidna did not like it, she felt annoyed not because of the loss of her pleasure alone. But an unpleasant feeling filled his heart, yet he had no knowledge of it. Without a memory, Echidna seemed irritated for no apparent reason.

The Wyvern roared once more and he quickly swooped sharply down. The big beast had already determined its prey, a woman who stood up and looked easy to reach with her claws or fangs.

It was a pity, when he approached the woman. A little girl took a step forward and pointed her palm at his face.

A huge pressure explosion immediately threw out the dust and sand around them. Alicia was surprised to see Echidna, only this time she saw her like that. The pressure made the people around her fall down and could not get up even Alice's legs also shook because of it. How could his soul be defeated by the aura that his daughter exuded? A soul that was even capable of rivaling a goddess.

The Wyvern did not care, as if in his head there was only food. His hunger and bloodlust controlled his emotions.

The Wyvern still glided quickly but soon as he opened his mouth and wanted to pounce on the woman.

"SLOW! BOW YOUR HEAD!"

The wyvern balance just disappeared and fell. His body was dragged until it hit the fortress wall. The Wyvern wanted to get back up but something seemed to be propping up his legs and wings. He screeched and rebelled but still he could not escape. Echidna's echoing voice just now was like an absolute command to the wyvern.

Echidna looked at the wyvern. "A lowly creature like you, bravely raised your head higher than mine. QUIET DOWN!" The Wyvern was silent for a moment and did not dare to rebel.

Echidna's heart rate from anger became irregular. Seeing her unusual demeanor, Alice immediately placed her hands on Echidna's shoulders and hugged her from behind. Alice lowered her head while softly calling out her daughter's name.

"Echidna. Relax darling. Calm down."

Echidna fell silent, her gaze began to calm down again and her anger slowly subsided. "Mama..." The answer.

"Yes. It's mama. Calm down."

Echidna nodded her head. He felt the warmth of Alice's hand and pressed his cheek.

When Echidna calmed herself down. The reinforcements had arrived and immediately subdued the Wyvern.
