"alright. Then I'll go first." Yamamura said goodbye to the receptionist and the innkeeper. He had just finished breakfast and had a morning shower.
"Don't miss anything" the innkeeper recalled.
"Just calm. Besides, my stuff, right, is just this" Yamamura said as he patted his bow hanging from his back. He has now been wearing full armor given Zett yesterday and did not forget to pin his adventurer badge on the chest.
"You sure ... want to go now?" ask the receptionist with concern. "Seeing from your armor, you're still a beginner adventurer. Plus, your class is an archer that belongs to the type of remote attacker. You need a party to be able to continue adventuring, while here there is no other adventurer left."
"That's right. Are you sure you won't do anything, son?" The innkeeper chimed.
"It's okay" Yamamura said confidently. "As long as I still have this bow, everything will be fine."
The innkeeper smiled, looking amazed by the bravery of the golden-haired boy before him.
"You're a great kid. You're still young, but you've worked at the risk of your life becoming an adventurer."
"What can I do. This is due to financial demands as well" Yamamura said. "My mom and dad are dead, and my sister is too young to work. If I don't work, then we'll all starve to death."
"The two of them can't know that I'm not from this world. Especially about the ability of the system that is still in me." Yamamura looked at the map still in his view. "May there be a great excitement later."
"You're a really brave boy" the receptionist praised. "May you survive your journey."
"Thank you for the compliment." Yamamura smiled happily. "Then I'll go first."
"Yes. Be careful on the road, son."
--------------------------------
"I just need to follow the instructions on this map, right?"
Yamamura continued walking, crossing the path flanked by dense forest on the right and grassland on the left. Some animals appear to be grazing in the meadow, but it seems that the young adventurer is not interested in hunting at all. The sun has begun to rise, indicating that the day has come. The cool morning air began to be replaced by the heat of the day. He had been walking for quite some time, but had not yet reached the place the quest was referring to.
"What's the extent, anyway?" Yamamura tried to scroll the map panel and found that the place was still very far away.
"WHATAAA?!" The adventurer was surprised. "Dead me. My feet are all swollen, nih." He bowed his body in lethargy.
"Hey, are you an adventurer?"
"Yes ..," Yamamura said.
"This place is quite far from the city. What are you doing here? Judging from your clothes, I guess that you are a novice adventurer. The quests you took shouldn't have taken you this far, because the average rank C to E quests aren't too far from the city."
"Ah, I'm heading to the Winter Region for some business."
The two lumberjack eyes instantly widened when he heard the word Winter Region. "You .... You serious?!"
"What's wrong?" Yamamura's eyebrows are linked.
"That place, isn't it, it's dangerous!!" exclaim the lumberjack.
"Many adventurers from various cities and kingdoms are trying to enter the region because of rumors that there resides a boss with a very valuable item drop, which is very valuable, but in the end none of them made it out alive!! Even if they could return, they would definitely go home in a state of madness!! Legend has it that the boss is no ordinary boss!! There was something powerful and terrifying hiding inside there!!"
"Ah, I should start cutting down immediately!! I've had bad luck." The lumberjack rushed into the forest. "Anyways, undo your intention to go there if you still want to live, son!!!"
Momentary silence. Yamamura was silent a thousand languages. The courage he had gathered with great difficulty slowly began to vanish. Fear of death came back to him.
"Something ... the terrible ...?"
Yamamura looked at his right palm, then clenched it tightly.
"But .., I've come this far. Besides, if I go back now, I'll be stuck in this world forever."
He stared at the bright sun shining in the sky while blocking his gaze a little using the back of his hand so that his two eyes were not glare.
"Don't I commit to keep fighting how strong and scary my enemies will be? Why am I a coward now just because I hear a legend?"
"I ... will continue my journey ..., no matter how great the risk!!!"
