[Season 2] Chapter 31: The Power of Nightmares
"After my death, I met the black-robed woman."
"Women who later gave me .. something to protect."
After that, Yamamura's vision was filled with a dark black color, before the boy's consciousness finally returned. He finds himself still in the Winter Region, holding back the reindeer monster. He let his guard down for a moment because of the vision earlier and was thrown backwards. His bow was thrown several meters away in the opposite direction. Fortunately, the sharp horns of the deer do not hit the vital parts. He wiped the blood on his lips while sitting in the snow.
"Woman she meant ... did she set me up in this world too, huh?" inner Yamamura. "So at that time the echoing voice I heard from the sky was also the voice of a woman."
"I'd better not ask. Anyway, where would he answer. It's the same as leaking the identity of his own boss."
"So you used to be human like me? But you're living a tragic life. Then ... did you get to this world and get this form?" ask Yamamura.
"And something to protect you mean ... is this Winter Region, right?"
The deer monster, Rudolf, growled with a sinister voice in response.
"I don't understand. Why did you give this vision to me who was your enemy? Why did you let me know about your past?" Yamamura furrowed his brows.
"That's because .. that information will never be widely spread. You will not be able to get out safely from this region" Rudolf said. "You're gonna die here."
"You underestimated me, huh?" Yamamura smiled as he felt challenged. He took out the sword that was his spare weapon from the inventory, then darted and slashed at Rudolf's body. But again, his attack failed. His sword even bounced and stuck in the snowy ground.
"You don't learn from experience, do you?!" snapped Rudolf while back butting Yamamura until it bounced.
New wounds larger than the previous ones appeared on Yamamura's body, spitting out fresh red blood that flooded the snowy ground. It was a horrible sight for a twelve-year-old.
Yamamura's eyes widened. His body trembled looking at the blood flowing through his body. The sky suddenly turned as red as blood and the blizzard turned into a blood storm.
"I admit, for a new adventurer, your guts, intelligence, and luck are pretty high as well" Rudolf said. "You dare to come to an area where many professional adventurers disappear without a trace even though your rank is still low. You even managed to get through the traps and solve the puzzles in the Great Wall Dungeon. But ..., that luck ends here!! You're going to die!!!"
"Blood ...?"
Yamamura recalled his dream this morning. Apparently his guess is right. This scene was similar to that dream. What he had feared had really happened. He regretted underestimating the rumors about the Winter Region.
"The bitterness in my life .. has given me this power!! You've disrupted our plans. So, now you must die!!! Die like an insect!!! Ahahahaha!!!"
Rudolf's evil laughter accompanied the sound of the storm. Yamamura's face grew pale. The boy was getting scared. Imagine, a 12-year-old child was told to see such a bloody scene. Plus, all the weaponry he had was already thrown. His armor was also badly damaged.
"So this ... the true power of Nightmare Reindeer Rudolf? The power that made him dubbed a monster and feared by people ...."
"The power of nightmares!!"
