Purity Online - The World For The Fallens
[Season 2] Chapter 66: Because We Are Family

"So there, yes!!"

"Now, just use the same strategy as the golden-haired adventurer yesterday."

After learning the location of the hole he predicted as the hiding place of the leader of the dire wolves, Senshi also herded the other wolves away so that he could turn his back on the hole, pretending to feel cornered, so he could turn his back on the hole, and back slowly towards the hole.

"A little while longer.it must have come out like a spider feeling the vibrations in its web..," the inner black-haired teenager.

Justright. A few seconds later, the second assassin wolf suspected of being the leader of the herd jumped out. However, Senshi's blood-soaked blade moved faster, changing its position from vertical to horizontal so as not to block the ribs and stabbing the wolf's heart before he could launch an attack.

"Done."

The boy drew his sword from the chest of the assassin wolf and turned to face the other wolves, thinking the fight was over with victory on his side. However, precisely what he saw were completely unchanged glares of the eyes, still filled with a desire for revenge. There was not the slightest expression that showed that their guts were shriveled.

"What?!" Senshi's two golden eyes widened, a sign that he was aghast. "How is it possible"

Before Senshi could think of his next move, one of the most burly wolves spouted ice from his mouth, making the boy's body parts from the chest to the soles of the feet become frozen until they can not be moved. He seizes the golden opportunity when Senshi is caught off guard by surprise.

"Yes too...." Senshi begins to realize the truth in the midst of her panic. He remembered the book he had read.

"In the animal world, usually the leader of the herd is the most powerful. Thus, if you want, actually the leader does not need to hide and can jump directly into the battlefield! The wolf head of the herd that was previously might actually be strong as well, but because he did not want to take the risk, he actually died without having a chance to fight. How could I not include such an important thing in my calculations?"

"In addition, I never expected that the leader of the new wolf pack had ice-element magic. Shit...., if this is the case, what should I do?!"

A fiery arrow emerged from the other side of the courtyard of the house, darting towards the eyes of the leader of the herd, but an ice arm quickly coated his entire body. Senshi immediately recognized the arrow. Ignis Arrow, the arrow of Yamamura's skill. The adventurer was apparently watching him with Yamarashi from behind the wall, whether from when and for what purpose. Perhaps they also wanted to see the extent of the original potential of the Senshi.

Some of the remaining wolves ran towards the arrow. However, Yamamura managed to finish them off, although he had to fall down and roar in pain afterwards.

"It's dangerous..," he said. "The pay for emergency mode is life energy that can only be restored once the fight is over with victory on my part. But, if the situation were this, I would be killed by my own power over time."

The young man with golden-colored hair lowered his head until his face was hidden behind a shadow. The look in his eyes implied a deep despair.

"It's all over...."

"No, not yet!!" Yamarashi exclaimed, refusing to give up. "If his entire body was covered in ice armor, surely the inside of his mouth, throat, and throat were not. Plus, he'd rather have his men attack us than spout ice, which means the attack had a cooldown!"

"You are right" Yamamura said. "We can take advantage of that moment to shoot an arrow into his mouth. However, from what I saw earlier, the inside of his mouth was also covered in ice that extended down to the channel below."

"These three parts are rarely exposed, so coating them with a strong layer of ice is almost pointless. That is, it was just a thin layer of ice, the traces left behind by the burst of ice time flashed!" Yamarashi tries to analyze. "That layer you can vanish using the fire arrow combined with the control arrow you once told me."

"That's better than being silly dead because of your emergency mode, right?" cut off Yamarashi with a big smile. "If you need time, leave it to me."

Yamarashi then turned down his legs and ran quickly towards the battlefield. It was so fast and sudden that Yamamura was shocked.

"Hey!! You're going nowhere"

Back to Senshi's side. The teenager was gulping down with his heart racing. Right before him, the leader of the herd of dire wolf walked around, as if to give him enough time to suffer the fear first before dying. He closed his eyes, preparing to die. The sound of the wolf's feet clashing against the grassy ground was heard clearly afterwards, followed by a groaning sound from someone he knew very well. Feeling astonished, Senshi opened his eyes and found his brother standing facing him, holding the dire wolf leader at his feet. The red blood that gave rise to the smell of iron rust flowed from the brother's back that was torn by fangs, down the waist until it fell to stain the green grass below.

In that instant, Yamamura realized that Yamarashi had deliberately sacrificed himself to protect his younger brother, stalling for time, while distracting the wolves so that he could combine the skills of Ignis Arrow and Controller Arrow. Without hesitation, the adventurer also began the skill merger experiment. He couldn't stay still after seeing his partner bet such a life.

"You.... Why...?" asked Senshi in a poignant tone. "And I've been getting ready if I die at the hands of the dire wolves tonight...."

Yamarashi coughed, spitting out a bit of blood from his mouth. A few seconds later, he responded to his sister's question with a smile.

"Hey, Senshi.... You said this, right? The establishment of a relationship between two or more people will only give burden and suffering when one of them is absent, so it is better to live with as little inner bond as possible."

"I think it's wrong. It is precisely the greater the inner suffering when the person we are in a relationship with is gone, meaning the greater the influence that person exerts on us. How much that influence is and how much people are affected by it, that's the standard measure of a person's life value."

"With you.., since father and mother are gone, you live your life by not building or strengthening relationships with other humans besides me. If you die now, the only one who will cry is me. Yamamura would not be interested in doing so at all."

"So, live longer, Senshi. To change the value of your life. Do not refuse to connect with new people. Step out of the bitter past, and make the future that much more beautiful. Come with that genius adventurer. Explore the vast world outside this forest and live at least until you find a society that can accept you."

"It doesn't make sense." Senshi laughed wryly, trying to hold back her tears that had piled up in the corner of the eye. "Why did you get this far for someone like me?"

"Why... still ask?" Now, it was Yamarashi's turn to laugh. The breath of the brunette teenager lived some due to his blood being drained a lot. "The reason is simple, because we are family.... There's no other reason."

The teenager then whispered something before finally closing his eyes with a peaceful smile on his face. His life has departed from his body. Although he could not hear his brother's last sentence, but Senshi could read it from the movement of the mouth. The sentence reads about this:

"Live as much as you can, Senshi."
