"Hey, Otomura!!" The feminine voice called out in the middle of the crowd of the Zanz Magic Academy during the return hour of school. Otomura looked over lazily. A golden-haired girl in uniform was standing next to him. Yes, he is Yuukaru.
"Do you have any plans tonight? Or are you a free man?" he asked somewhat with his head tilted.
"none. I have no plans and no PR either, but I don't want to go anywhere either. I want to go home to the soft bed of the house immediately" Otomura said indifferently. "Or if I can, I want to quickly get out of this virtual world full of falsehoods. It's all fake, you know?"
"Indeed, but at least everyone here is kind, right?" Yuukaru.
"What is good-natured?" Otomura frowned in annoyance. "We don't know what those damn developers are programming their virtual souls like. They could actually be programmed to be killing machines that torture us virtually. I never wanted to be sent to a world filled with this falsehood and obscurity, nor did I want to attend this Magic Academy. The magic power that I get is just a data set, what's the point? God fucking. We're stuck here because of those fucking developers."
A month had passed since Otomura and Yuukaru were forced to log into this virtual world. They both lived with an old man yesterday — Grandpa Yurato — in his village named Arafubi. Yuukaru was able to get along with many villagers easily due to his jovial and friendly nature. On the contrary, Otomura more often emanates an aura of hatred to everyone he meets so that there are only one or two people who want to be his friends. It was without the recognition of Otomura himself. The grumpy golden-haired youth only thought of them as annoying people who always bothered him, even though they were actually trying to befriend him.
At Grandpa Yurato's suggestion, Otomura and Yuukaru are now attending Zanz Magic Academy because it would be very troublesome if they did not master magic in a virtual world filled with these fantasy things. It was fortunate, as they came to that virtual world right at the beginning of the new school year. Yuukaru was very happy because he could make new friends, while Otomura only grumbled every day. Well .., we can't blame him, anyway .... He became like that because of his dark life story.
"Don't do that. Who knows, this opportunity to live a peaceful virtual life only comes once in a lifetime" Yuukaru said.
"What is 'peace?' It's all fake!!! FAKE IT!!!" So angry, Otomura to kick the school wall. He then sauntered towards the academy's gate which was a few meters in front of him, leaving Yuukaru behind. "Forget over. I'm going home."
"Hey!! Just wait!! Just wait!! Just wait!! Wait!!" Yuukaru pulled Otomura's shoulder violently, making him barely stumble and fall backwards.
"What the fuck, anyway?!" Otomura looked back in anger.
"Grandfather Yurato said that there was an orphanage that he always visited whenever he had free time. He's going to visit her tonight. You should come, too, yeah."
"Haha?" Otomura put up a lazy eye highlight and turned his face away. "Waste of time. I'd better be wrapped around my cozy blanket in that room. Alone, at least comfortable and peaceful. You're the one who's coming."
"If you were like that, no one would want to be your friend, you know," Yuukaru scolded. "Either in this virtual world or in the real world."
"Leave it. Friends are useless, too. Only come when they need us" Otomura said. "They're parasites."
"You have to come." Yuukaru started to force.
"You can't force me." Otomura remained adamant about his decision.
"Then ...." Yuukaru grinned viciously with a terrifying aura around him. "No dinner for today ...."
Hearing that, Otomura's eyes widened. Suddenly, he put on a kneeling position with one leg like a soldier's salute to the nobility. He put his head deep. "Your rule is everything to me, Princess."
"Well, I see, dong." Instantly, an evil aura disappeared from the air around the two of them. A cheerful smile was drawn on Yuukaru's lips. "Now, let's go home."
Yuukaru stepped towards the academy gate, while Otomura tailed behind him while snorting and clucking in annoyance.
"Damn ...."
