[Season 2] Chapter 48: Scenery
"Wait a minute, Yuukaru!! Don't pull my hand like that!! Where are we going?" ryugai asked as he walked the village road, following his wife who was walking with enthusiasm. On the right and left, the modest houses of the villagers lined up neatly and orderly, protected by wooden fences and lush green-leaved trees.
"Somewhere not far from here" Yuukaru said.
Only a few minutes later, the couple had arrived at the western village border in the form of a river of considerable diameter with a wooden bridge across it. Across the river, there was a dense forest filled with tall and large trees. Naturally they could arrive in a short time, because aunt Yuukaru's house was located not so far from the outskirts of the village.
"Hey, are you sure we're not going stray?" Ryugai looks doubtful.
"Just calm. The structure of the forest and village is still the same as when I last came here, really," said Yuukaru.
While trying to cross the bridge, Ryugai's eyes catch a barren forest on a distant river bank. Reflexively, he stopped his steps, made his wife stop, turned the same way, and sharpened his eyes.
"Why does the forest over there look like a logged-down container? Isn't Mount Shizen a conservation area?" Ryugai pointed at the empty land of the former forest.
"Eitherway. Though in the past there also the tree is still lush. Must be the illegal loggers." Yuukaru clenched both of his hands tightly.
"Why are they still after real wood? Doesn't synthetic wood already exist? And the quality and appearance are equivalent to real wood," Ryugai said.
"Yes, but the price of real wood is more expensive than synthetic wood. They want to sell the real wood from this forest to earn a lot of money." Yuukaru looked increasingly upset. He lowered his head until his face was covered with shadows.
"They sacrifice the riches of nature only to satisfy greed .... If the beauty of this mountain becomes damaged by illegal logging, I will not forgive."
Realizing that the woman was furious, Ryugai hurriedly changed the subject so as not to affect the baby in the womb.
"Rather than grumbling about it, we better continue the journey to the place you want to show me" said the blue-haired man.
"So soon his mood changed ...," Ryugai's inner self with a sweat pelt down his forehead.
The two walked through the forest for about five minutes and found an amazing view. Before their eyes, a crystal-clear watery lake stretched wide. Beyond that, there are beautiful cherry trees. The peak of Mount Shizen is seen right behind the collection of sakura trees. Seeing that, Ryugai and Yuukaru simultaneously exclaimed in admiration.
"Yahhhh!!!"
"Beautiful!! Like a land in a fairy tale!!" Ryugai's eyes twinkled.
"It turns out it's still the same as it was 14 years ago, yes. I was nostalgic. In the past, whenever spring came, I would sit here for hours just to look at this beauty." Yuukaru stepped in search of the tree where he often leaned first, then sat down with the tree propped up.
"Beautiful," said Ryugai. A joyful smile was etched on his face. "As someone who was born in the city, it was the first time I saw such a beautiful sight in my life."
"We ... along with the other villagers .. must guard this priceless treasure ...," Yuukaru said with a smile looking at the blue sky reflected on the surface of the lake.
