[Season 2] Chapter 23: Dungeon and Winter Region

The sun was rising and now it was right at the top of the sky. Yamamura had entered the snowy area by now, indicating that he had arrived at his destination, the Winter Region.

"Sial ..., it was cold ...," Yamamura grumbled. He shivered in the cold. "Know this, I should have brought warm clothes earlier."

"uh? What'sthis?" he said while looking at the map.

There's a huge wall in the outer reaches of the Winter Region. The boy rushed to touch the map panel and the name of the giant wall immediately appeared to the right of the wall emblem. The inscribed Great Wall Dungeon with an unknown dungeon difficulty or [??].

"Dungeons? Perhaps because of this the adventurers never returned from the Winter Region safely. Maybe it's a little dangerous. Besides I don't know what the difficulty of this dungeon is." He changed the map panel to a world map.

"The "direction indicated by this quest was unbelievable. I'll find another way in. Uh?"

Yamamura breathed a heavy sigh. There is no other access route. The Winter Region's position is as a gateway to an unknown territory. There is no other way to enter the region than through the Winter Region because the mysterious area is bounded by snowy mountains called the Ring of Snow in the southeast and southwest and a volcanic mountain called the Ring of Vulcan in the west, east, northeast, northwest, and north.

"That means there's no other way. I have to get through this dungeon. Siaaall!!!" yamamura. "Yes already. Even if I'm gonna die in there, at least I die with a fight."

An arrow shot out, stuck on the neck of a small-bodied goblin. Fresh blood came out from the veins on the goblin's neck, soaking the dungeon floor.

"Well, now the blood feature has been activated. It's awful .... Is this because this world isn't connected to the gaming system anymore?"

Yamamura approached the goblin's body and picked up a drop item that was certainly nothing.

"From that moment, only small monsters appeared. Is the rumor that no one has made it out of the Winter Region just exaggerated?" The young adventurer rubbed his golden hair, staring at the dungeon hallway lit by torches on the upper right and left.

"Yes .... I just keep going, deh," said Yamamura as he stepped his foot. "Later will also appear boss-ny-AAAAAAAA!!!" Yamamura shouted in surprise as the floor he was on suddenly collapsed, causing it to almost fall into a very deep hole. The bottom of the hole was a bit dark because it was only illuminated by a torch, but he could see a little bones scattered down there.

"Ohiiiiiyyy!!!" his screams are full of horror. He took a few steps back and fell down. "It turns out that the legend is true ...."

"I have to be careful. Who knows there's still a la-GIII trap!!!"

The boy was surprised again. His teeth were grinding and both his eyes were glaring in horror. An arrow had just shot out before him, almost stuck it in his head.

"If it wasn't for my luck, I might be dead by now. In the future, I need to be more careful."

Yamamura went back down the dungeon hall while continuing to finish off the small and medium sized monsters he encountered. Sometimes he encountered traps that fortunately he managed to avoid. After a long walk and several times found empty rooms and statues and symbols on the walls that somehow symbolize what, he found a giant door. To the left of his body, there was another smaller door.

"Where did I open it, huh?"

The boy slowly opened the door on his left which felt a bit hard to push. A loud creaking sound rang out, a sign that the door had not been opened for a long time. The conditions are the same as the doors of other rooms.

"Maybe because of the rumors, so no more adventurers dared to come here" he said.

The door finally opened completely. A large treasure box filled with gold, diamonds, and glittering gems seemed to be sitting sweetly at the end of the room. It made Yamamura tempted, but then something awakened him. The face of his money's eyes changed into the face of a detective.

"The floor here ..., how is there a line that looks new and not dusty, huh?"

He tried to step forward and set his foot on the new-looking floor. That floor row immediately collapsed and created an elongated deep hole. At the bottom there are also many bones, just like the previous trap.

"That means, the treasure box ...."

Yamamura was on standby with his shooting position, creating arrows of white light, mounting them on the bowstring, and firing the arrows. The arrow pierced through the treasure box and fiercely struck a small tool tucked into the wall. The device fell along with electrical sparks and caused a small explosion. The structure of the treasure box slowly faded away and finally vanished without a trace.

"Hmphs. Holograms, huh?" Yamamura smiled, looking excited as well as amazed. "The creator of all these traps must be a very genius. But, what a pity. Even though the donkey is stupid, he won't fall into the same hole twice."

"That means the boss room ... is there, huh?" The boy looked at the big door.

He stepped out of the trap room and tried to push the big door, but it was harder to open than the other doors. After careful attention, it turns out there are some strange symbols on the giant door made of stone. Symbols of the sun, lightning, moon, and stars in ancient Egypt are located far apart.

"Don't it, it's a code? Ah, comeon. It's not a mystery game."

"Hm? What'sthis?"

Yamamura only realized that there was a small square with inscriptions on the giant door. The writing reads:

'The brave who have entered the forbidden place must unite the scattered heavens, challenge and defeat the Attendant, and present the heavens with reverence to the Creator of the Universe.'

"What does this mean?"
