Purity Online - The World For The Fallens
[Season 2] Chapter 64: The Single Fighter

The moon has reached the top of the sky, indicating that the night is getting late, even barely reaching the early hours. The soft sounds of night insects rang out, reconciling the hearts of anyone who heard them. An owl perched on a tree branch was looking at the gray clouds slowly passing through the dark blue sky.

All the lights in the two-story wooden house of the Bushida brothers have been extinguished. It seemed like everyone in it had already slept, except for one person. The man was the younger brother, Senshi Bushida, who was standing alone on the opposite side of the house to the meat storage room. His father's sword was stuck to his hip in a sheathed condition.

"There have been no lights on since I first set foot on the ground outside the house. It seems they are still sleeping because of fatigue after work earlier," said Senshi. "Well, great. I don't want anyone else involved in this. I have to make sure the adventurer's words are within my own capabilities."

"I could have died at the hands of that pack of wolves tonight. But, no problem. At least I'll be able to get the answer. I don't know if the answer is in line with my expectations or not."

"After the leader of his dire wolf pack was killed yesterday, surely the wolves that would come later were fewer in number than yesterday because their herd hierarchy had already split. There is also the possibility that they are absent from robbing our game for a few days in order to stabilize the herd. However, still advancing onto the battlefield without strategy and preparation was a foolish move."

Senshi leaned her back against the wall while folding both of her arms. His bent eyebrows and shrunken forehead indicate that he is thinking hard.

"I'm not sure my strategy-making ability can match that adventurer, anyway.., but I have to try it."

The black-haired teenager stared at the grass that lay near his feet. Sometimes he flicked his hand to repel the bloodthirsty mosquitoes that began to approach his body. Suddenly, he got an idea.

"yes too. I might be able to use Yamamura's strategy I got from brother's story as a reference."

"From here, I'll try to restart my life."

"[Game Start]- No.., I think it's more like [Game Restart]."

"Would I be able to do [Game Change] this time?"

 ------------

An hour later....

The sound of wolf howls rang out loud, implying that the herd of dire wolf was preparing to make an attack.

"That's them," Senshi's inner self as she clenched her hands together on the handle of the sword and prepared her fighting horses. Cold sweat started flowing down his forehead. Right now, he was already right in front of the meat storage room, waiting for the arrival of the dire wolfs.

"It turns out they're persistent too. And just yesterday the leader of his flock was killed along with half the invading force."

"alright. No need to panic even if you have to be a lone fighter. I just need to fight by following the plan. The issue of winning or losing is a matter of later. Even if I lose and get killed, at least I'll get the answer."

The sounds of growling and barking echoed in the distance, the longer it got closer. Senshi's heart pounded even harder and both of his legs began to tremble. The image of the bodies of his parents came back to his mind.

"What are you afraid of, Senshi?! You've done this a lot before. Why are you afraid of death now?" he said in his heart, trying to convince himself.

"Well, now. Go ye!!"

The veil of darkness unfolded, revealing the wolves that instantly lunged forward savagely while barking loudly. Some of them had scars from previous fights. The number of wolves is indeed less than last night, but this time they look more filled with anger.

"I thought the death of the leader would cause division in your flock. There are those who agree to continue robbing and there are also those who choose to find other food sources" Senshi said.

"But, it seems that the anger that has arisen because the Leader was killed along with many members of the herd makes you more eager to finish off me, my brother, and the young, golden-haired adventurer. It's gonna be a real hassle."

"Sorry, yeah. Right now, your opponents are all just me."

The five wolves on the front line instantly formed a circle formation, then charged towards Senshi simultaneously. However, at high speed the young man kicked the first wolf, allowed the second and third wolves to collide, then grabbed the eyes of the fourth and fifth wolves to make both of them blind.

"The right move," her inner self. "If I jump up, it will indeed be easier to avoid the attack of the first five wolves. But my movements will be limited. The other wolves will definitely take advantage of the opportunity."

Another wolf tried to pounce on Senshi from behind, but his neck was immediately sliced by the sharp eyes of Senshi's sword. He fell down and wriggled while growling in pain. The last thing he saw before dying was a pair of Senshi eyes that were emitting a serious gaze.

"Another thing that is also noteworthy when fighting alone is to sharpen the senses. And most importantly, don't let your sword get stuck if you feel like you're going to have trouble pulling it out. As long as your sword is diligently sharpened, a stroke of death will suffice."

The dark-haired teenager had just wanted to breathe for a moment when the second and third wolves that had collided were speeding towards him with fierce eyes and dagger-sharp teeth soaked in water sputum. The hair all over the body that is enforced clearly indicates the aggressiveness of the two wolves.

"They are indeed endless," the inner teenager.

He continued his fight. His sharp sword kept swinging to and fro, taking the lives of the great canines like the scythe of the angel of death. The number of wolves that came tonight is only a quarter of the number of wolves that came last night. However, their excitement makes the number seem to increase to double so that over time he was overwhelmed.

While adjusting her breathing with great difficulty, Senshi wiped the sweat on her temple wearing a wrist. Meanwhile, the dire wolves crowding him were still standing in silence, preparing to launch their next attack. The claws attached to the edges of the pads of their feet began to scratch the ground.

"I think it's time to use that strategy," Senshi's inner self.

He jumped to the side, away from the wolf pack he was facing. Now, he was further and further away from the dimly lit courtyard of the house and getting closer to the gripping darkness of the forest.

"Well, the king hunting game begins!!"

To be continued
