Day 1: Warmth of Arafubi Village (Part 2)

"Ah ..., so full," said Grandpa Rato as she stroked her stomach.

"Is it full, Rato's cake?" ryugai said while extinguishing the bonfire that they had used to cook rabbit meat. Ryugai uses a stone that has been shaved and sharpened to skin the rabbit.

"Oh. Directly calling out familiarly, huh?" Grandpa Rato replied with a smile. "It turns out that even though it's cold, you're getting along pretty quickly too."

"You told me to call you that, Mother," Ryugai said without turning his head towards the old man. "Do you want me to call you old man again?"

"Hey, hey .... It's cold ...." Grandpa laughed. "By the way, thank you. I almost starved to death."

"Don't get me wrong, grandfather. I did not mean to do good to you. Let's just say I split it because I can't afford to spend it alone." Ryugai still looked indifferent. "If I could spend it alone, I wouldn't share it."

"Hahahaha!!!" Grandpa Rato laughed out loud, making Ryugai look at him in wonder.

"What's up, Grandpa?" ask Ryugai.

"It's okay" said the Grandfather, closing his mouth, trying to hold back his laughter. "It turns out you're the tsundere type, yes, Ryugai."

"W-What the fuck is this grandpa?!" Ryugai immediately misbehaved. "Why am I acting like a tsundere to a fellow man?!"

"Why is he acting so familiar? Ah, ja. He doesn't know I'm a killer. Had he known that I'd killed five people in Osaka, Okinawa, and Tokyo ..., what would his reaction be?" inner Ryugai. "But I better not tell him now."

"And again, why would old grandfathers like you know that term?!"

Grandpa Yurato chuckled. "Look at me gaul grandpa .... Oh, ja. Do not wear frills 'old grandfather, ' dong. I feel a little insulted."

"All right, all right," Ryugai said. "From now on, I'll call you Grandpa Rato. By the way, we get straight to the point conversation, yeah. When are we going to your village?"

"Of course now" Grandpa Rato said as he stood up and stretched his body, breathing the fresh and natural forest air. However, before long there was a 'crack' sound coming from inside his body. Both of the old man's eyes were wide. He immediately complained of pain.

"Ouch!! Duh!! Duh!! Duh!! Duh!! Ouch!!! My waist!!! Ouch!! Duh!! Ohhh!!! Ohhh!!! Ohhh!!! Ohhhhh!!!"

Seeing that, Ryugai only fell silent with a sweaty fur running down his forehead. "Basic. It's grandparent, but still young pretentious."

——————————————————————————————————

Ryugai and Grandpa Yurato had now arrived at the village where the grandfather lived. The sun is in the western horizon. A reddish glow befell the streets and buildings. The sky is now orange.

Although it is called 'village,' but it turns out the ornaments, designs, streets, and the arrangement of the house is quite pampering to the eye. A fountain appears to be at the crossroads of the road. The streets are crowded with people passing by. Everyone smiled cheerfully and happily. Everyone passing by greeted Grandpa Yurato and Ryugai. There was one thing that stuck in Ryugai's heart, which was that everyone passing by greeted Grandpa Yurato with the title 'Bead Chief' or 'Brandfather.'"

"This is your village, cake?" ryugai asked as he looked towards Grandpa Yurato.

"Yes. His name is Arafubi Village" said Grandpa Rato.

"I thought your village was a primitive village."

"Hey, hey. Don't be reckless. My village has advanced enough, you know."

"By the way, why did everyone say hello to you as 'Sir Head?'" Ryugai asked the second question.

"Of course because I am the village chief of this village called Arafubi," said the Grandfather as he raised his head proudly, hoping Ryugai would be impressed.

*crisks\~\~* *crisks-crik\~\~*

"You-You're not amazed?! Or at least surprised, so?!" Grandpa Yurato was wide-eyed.

"Why am I surprised just because you're the village chief?" ryugai said with a joke.

"Lu-Forget it ..," Grandpa Yurato said as he bowed languidly. "Damn .... He's cold and stiff, anyway."

"Hey. He's the new guy, huh, Chief?" greet the two golden-haired youths with almost similar looks while smiling kindly.

"Yes. He helped me out in the woods. His name is Ryugai" Grandpa Yurato introduced the young man with an indifferent expression with blue hair next to him.

"Oh, so. Introduce, I'm Rascal" said one young man as he extended his hand.

"And my name is Rascarez. I was born just an hour earlier than my brother, Rascal," said another young man, Rascarez, before Rascal extended his hand.

"Hey, I was, dong, Rascarez!!" rascal protest.

"Why indeed?" rascarez said with an annoying smile etched on his face.

"I am, right, the oldest!! Me first!!"

"Why indeed? Age has nothing to do with this."

"Hey, hey. Never mind. You guys are ...." Yurato's grandfather mediated as he reached out to the ears of the two young men.

"Adududu! Pain, grandpa!!! Accusations!!!"

"I'm sorry for this silly scene, Ryugai," Grandpa Rato said.

"Yes. Sorry, Ryugai-san." Rascal and Rascarez said with a friendly smile. The two of them extended their hands once more. "Now, let's repeat the introduction."

"My name is Ryugai .... Hello to you ...." Ryugai said stammered in surprise. He nodded at them both stiffly.

"What the fuck? Though I was very rude, cold, and always indifferent to them, but they .... That friendly and sincere smile ..., it was definitely not the smile that was singled out for being forced!!"

"I intended to kill them all and plunder the village, but ...."

However, then the hatred comes back to Ryugai's heart once he recalls his dark past.

"Unfortunately, I have closed my heart and driven humanity out of my soul since that day ...."
