Day 57: Maximus Potentia Tournament Part Four (Part 5)
Ryugai and Arai stepped into the arena. The door behind them closed, slightly clanging. High spirit was seen from the faces of the two young men. They stepped in opposite directions, approaching each other while preparing the horses for the sword.
"Next is the closing match for today, the match between Ryugai Yuzumoto and Arai Mirakurai!!!" The commentator's voice echoed in all directions. His hand that had been pointed upwards was now pointing forward. His index finger is outstretched. "Game begins!!!"
The crowd cheers again filled the atmosphere in the arena. For some reason, the cheers this time sounded louder than the cheers in previous matches. Apparently, they had realized that Ryugai was the Hero who had saved Arafubi Village from the bull-headed monster named Minotaur. With a movement as fast as the wind, Ryugai and Arai's swords clashed, producing sparks of fire that floated across the air. The sound of metal clashing was clearly heard. The two of them jumped back and fought back against the sword for a while. They changed weapons into bows, then attacked each other again. However, none of the arrows hit the target. Eventually, the two of them turned their weapons back into swords.
"The audience will get bored if this continues." Ryugai smiled defiantly. Sparks of black-colored energy began to appear all over his body.
"Yes" said Arai. Sparks of fiery red energy also began to appear on his body. "How about we show them?"
The two types of energy sparks instantly spread out and enveloped their master's body swiftly. Now, Ryugai is enveloped by black energy, while Arai is enveloped by red energy. Arai smiled excitedly. "We'll show them .. the true potential of both of us!!!"
The two layers of different-colored energy had crept in, running through the swords belonging to Ryugai and Arai. Once again, the two young men went on a sword fight streak. Arai swung his sword at Ryugai's feet, but it was avoided by the blue-haired young man. As if he did not want to let go of his prey, Arai opened his right palm wide. Dozens of high-speed fireballs shot towards Ryugai which was still floating in the air. Quickly, Ryugai created a shield of dark energy in front of his body that instantly protected him from the fireballs.
"Great. You didn't let go of your target as usual." Ryugai smiled, looking excited.
"You too" said Arai. "You're as strong and swift as ever."
The two of them clashed swords once more, then jumped back. Ryugai took out an object similar to a grenade, then rushed to throw it on the arena floor. Thick smoke instantly spread and covered the air.
"Well, Ryugai used techniques from the majors of Magic Pharmacy and Chemistry!! The entire arena was covered by an extremely thick smog!! I can't even see a single centimeter of their bodies!!!"
"Want to use the same trick, huh?" Arai reopened his palm and brought up ten fireballs, then threw them behind. "But, it won't work against me anymore!!"
"Impossible, not right?!" Both of Arai's eyes widened. "Then, from the front!!"
Arai slapped his sword forward, but what was hit by the sword was just empty air.
"Imust be!! Up top?" Arai threw his fireballs upwards, but they only pierced through the sky.
"Bottom, fool!!"
"Well?!" Arai lowered his head under his feet. A glimpse of Ryugai's figure slid out from the ground like a mole. The dark black colored energy ball clasped in the hands of the blue haired youth with that disheveled hairstyle. He was trying to escape, but it was too late. His body had first bounced away.
Instead of giving up to continue the match, Arai smiled as he floated in the air. "It's finally time to use this."
Ryugai raised his head proudly and smiled triumphantly behind the thick smoke, but his smile was immediately dashed from the face as soon as he realized that a giant fireball was shooting towards him. The young man dodged in a critical moment. The fireball nearly hit both of his legs.
A speck of fire arose in the middle of the smog, then grew and expelled the thick smoke. Arai was in the air, riding on a large bird that looked like a phoenix in mythology. A smile was engraved on his face. Ryugai smiled too.
"Summoning Technique from Flora and Fauna Magic, huh?"
