Day 62: The Weapon of Retaliation, Azadrasil (Part 7)
"Gre-greed?!" Ryugai's eyes widened.
"Yes, it's me, Greed." Greed grinned savagely while staring at Ryugai's army. Yes, he was in the leading position of the army of 99 monster races.
"What are you waiting for?!" One of the impatient soldiers recklessly ran towards Greed. He had an arrow with his gunpowder on the bowstring. "He's our enemy, isn't he? With this arrow, he would definitely die from an explosion!!"
"O-Oi!! Don't be careless, fool!! We don't know what his powers are!!!" Ryugai tried to prevent the rash soldier.
However, late. He had first fired his gunpowder arrow towards Greed. A terrible explosion occurred. Black smoke billowed violently again, but it did not take long for the effects of the explosion to vanish swallowed by time.
"W-What?!" The soldier was surprised.
Greed grinned savagely, then turned his form into a huge green dragon snake. With that form, he managed to protect all the soldiers who were siding with him from the explosion.
"Thou-Impossible!!"
With fingers slippery because moistened by cold sweat, he re-attached arrows on the bowstring. However, the arrow slipped and fell to the ground. Even so, the soldier still maintained his pretentious facial expression. He picked up and put the arrow once more on his bowstring, then released it until it shot towards Greed.
Greed returned a sly smile, then changed his form into a slime and swallowed the arrow in one go.
"Huh, it tastes like drinking soft drinks." Greed burped, emitting a small black smoke from his mouth.
"Imust be!!!" The human army was aghast. "He ate gunpowder like a soda?!"
"Now it's my turn" said Greed, turning his right arm into the body of a rhinoceros beetle, then lightning-fast clamping down on the body of the poor soldier.
Withdrawal of the body of the soldier, then he turned his left arm into a giant worm that does not have a jaw and eyes. The bold pretentious expression instantly disappeared from the face of the Soldier. She cries in fear, begging Greed for forgiveness. The human soldiers were only able to stand still, not daring to act.
"D-N-god!!! Forgive me!!! Forgive me!!!"
Both of Greed's eyes bulged, then he ate the soldier using his worm-shaped left arm. The wrenching cry accompanied the sucked of the poor soldier into the mouth of a giant worm.
"Hey, hey. Why are you so surprised?" Greed looked at the army of the human race that seemed to be in fear, except for Ryugai who tried to remain confident.
Of course, because he was the strategist of the military forces of the human race. If he looks scared and panicked, then the enemy troops will be more confident and stronger.
"This is just the beginning, you know." Greed laughed a little. He snapped his finger.
Sea water on the coast is turbulent, great waves. Something enormous rose to the surface of the water, right behind the monster army. Sun disappeared. The bright blue sky was now replaced by a dark and dark purple sky. Even the crystal-clear seawater was also replaced by purple and black, as if an army of humans and an army of monsters were moving to another dimension.
That something is a tree. Yes, a giant tree with a size many times larger than the form of a giant green dragon belonging to Greed. It was pure white and the fruits gave off a colorful glow, but strangely the giant tree had no leaves.
A pair of angry-looking golden eyes appeared in the middle of the tree trunk. A loud roar sounded, deafening.
“I-That!!” Ryugai remembered something. “I've seen something similar to that in Norse mythology!! If not mistaken, it is a sacred tree, Yggdrasil!! But, why did the branches dry and purple aura envelop him?”
The sneaky grin that was drawn on Greed's face grew even more fluffy. His arms formed the letter W.
“Include. The tree of the world that has fallen into darkness, as well as the Weapon of Retaliation. His name is ... Azadrasil ..”.
