"Would you like to hear?"

"Yes .., it may be ...," Yamamura said. "I wonder what your past is like."

"It's going to be a rather long story ...." Zett took a breath, preparing to tell a story.

I was born into an ordinary family. Not rich, not poor. There is no special privilege or special ability in me. I lived my childhood with great happiness. Surrounded by friendly friends and amazing parents. My father died of illness when I was a child. So, automatically my mother held two roles at once in my family. As the head of the household who is in charge of making a living as well as a housewife who takes care of me. We weren't very wealthy, so we couldn't hire a housekeeper. My mother was a very wonderful and wonderful person. Although he was busy working, he still took the time to play with me. It's thanks to him that my childhood was fun even though I didn't have any special talents or a lot of money.

Then, at the end of my Elementary School, somehow my achievements soared high that I reached the top 10. That achievement continued in my Junior High. Many times I won the Olympics and got awards. My mother was so proud of me, even to the point of buying me a Virtual Diver as a gift. The teachers always looked at me with happy and happy looks. They said they were very proud of me. My friends always looked at me in amazement. At that time, I was really happy. I think I'm someone who's smart, intelligent, and special. Someone very special.

Until finally ..., on one day .... I started to realize that my mother had changed.

He who used to be full of affection, is now very strict. At first the change was not very visible, but over time it became clearer. I was always forced to keep up that feat. If I fail, then anger and blows will await me. My days have always been filled with learning and learning. I was forced to participate in various tutoring and tutoring. I have a lot of time just to learn. I never get enough rest. Every time the Olympics were held, I was always forced to follow him and score achievements there. I can't enjoy my teenage years like other kids. The figure of a mother full of love is gone.

I began to realize that ... none of this is of any use ....

All these trophies ..., charter ..., awards ..., and others ... are not special.

There is nothing special about them at all. It's not something to be proud of. Even to me they are symbols of suffering and torture.

Being an accomplished person .. wasn't as fun as I imagined.

I made a big mistake by climbing up a tree called academic achievement. Now, I can't go down at all. Once my grades go down, anger will welcome me. I've tried my hardest, but for my mom it's still not enough. I look more like a robot than a child. The proud and awe-inspiring look of my teachers and friends .., now feels disgusting and sickening ....

"I'm so proud of your achievements, son."

"Good job, son."

"You're a smart kid."

"It's gonna be you, yeah. Your future is assured because of your achievements ...."

"Definitely a golden boy teacher, huh."

"His son became the school's favorite ...."

"Stop!!! STOP IT!!!"

"Must be proud of his parents having a smart kid like him."

"Have been in the top 10, often won the Olympics anyway."

"His bedroom closet must have been filled with trophies and awards, huh."

"STOP!!! YOU KNOW NOTHING!!! I DON'T FEEL HAPPY LIVING LIKE THIS AT ALL, YOU KNOW!!! I FEEL LIKE I LIVE LIKE A ROBOT!!!"

Until finally ... when I entered my first year in High School, that day arrived ....

————————————————————————

"You ... is really embarrassing!!! Just maintaining your achievements you can't?! What do you think Mom worked so hard for and sent you to school all this time?! Why maintain the ranking position only you can't?!"

"But .., I can't be the best forever .... Besides, I've been trying my best."

"Omong empty!!! Look at all this!!! Where is your former accomplishment?!"

"STOP!!!"

"YOU ..., DO YOU CONSIDER ME A CHILD OR NOT, HUH?! YOU CARE MORE ABOUT VALUE?! YOU CARE MORE ABOUT THOSE USELESS NUMBERS?! YOU SACRIFICED MY RIGHT TO REST AND EVEN REDUCED MY SLEEP JUST FOR THEIR SAKE?! CAN'T YOU APPRECIATE MY LITTLE EFFORT, HUH, FUCKING PARENTS?!"

"ALWAYS, THIS IS ALL FREE!!! I'LL GO TO THE ROOM!!!"

"Hey!! I'm not done talking!! Hey!!"

"Just talk to you!! Don't call yourself my mother!! You don't even deserve to be a parent!!!"

Yes, I decided to rebel and run away from my life.

The world is sickening ....

This life is sickening ....

This house is sickening ....

This family is sickening ....

Everything is sickening ....

This is no longer home to me. Now, this is a prison. If I continue to stay here then I will only suffer more and feel like I am in hell.

Maybe .., none of this would have happened had I never scored an academic achievement. Maybe none of this would have happened had I never raised my value. If I had never done that, I might be able to enjoy a decent teenage life like any other teenager my age. But, I can't go to the past and change it, so the only option now is to escape this life before I go crazy.

On that very day, I logged into the virtual-reality world. I fled to the virtual world. I'm playing another VRMMORPG game that I haven't played in a long time. There, I began my journey ....

To find ... a place I can call home ....

...-A Place I Can Call 'Home’-...
