Purity Online - The World For The Fallens
[Season 2] Chapter 3: Pilgrimage and the Falling Star

The sun has not been up long. He was still near the horizon, as if he was still lazy to shine light on the earth. Although the dawn has just arrived, the streets of the technologically advanced city of Tokyo are already crowded by people who are ready to move. They use ultra-magnetic levitation trains, solar, magnetic and electric powered vehicles, as well as people who choose to walk for health or financial reasons.

Civilization in the year 2090 is very advanced. There are even scientists who are trying to design warpdrive spacecraft, teleporters, time machines, and other advanced equipment. Unfortunately, all of those designs failed because of the side effects and obstacles that there were too many. Coordinate errors, limited energy sources, effects produced by time travel, and so on.

Currently, humans only have a three-man interplanetary plane that can only go to one planet in one charge and has a maximum capacity of three astronauts. They can already send humans to Mars and Venus, but still have difficulty establishing settlements there because of its harsh climate. Humanity has built settlements on the moon. However, the only ones who could live there were the elites and nobles.

At a cemetery, Otomura was walking on a path flanked by gravestones struck by the morning sun. He smiled cheerfully as he was finally able to breathe fresh air after being locked up in the room for a long time to work on the script.

"I finally have some free time too. Being locked up in a hotel room like that feels like being in jail" he said.

"When I first decided to become a novelist, I didn't expect my editors to be that cruel."

He looked left and right, as if he was looking for something. His face looked confused. "Tu-Wait!! Don't tell me I forgot where it is!!"

Otomura patted his forehead. "Aghh ..., niacole .... It must be because most of the script writing, yes. My brain is in error."

"What can I do. I'll just go find it, deh." The man stepped his foot, crossing the path while continuously turning his head left and right. It seemed that what he was looking for was the tomb of his sister, Iruna Yamato. "I remember being around here, really."

After walking for a while, Otomura finally found what he was looking for. His sister's headstone, still the same as the last time he made a pilgrimage. It's just that it looks a little unkempt now. He cleaned it up, then squatted nearby. A smile was painted on his face.

"Sorry, yes, Iruna. Lately brother is busy, so can't come here often."

"It's been 22 years since that incident, yes ...."

"Hey. Thank you, Iruna. If it wasn't for you .., maybe I would never have been able to get out of the darkness and hatred."

"Thank you for the days you gave me."

"You are the one who taught me. .. how to deal with the dark life."

Otomura stared at the cloud-dotted blue sky with a smile still etched on his face. Those days .... The days she spent with her sister felt like just yesterday passed. The times where he and his sister fought together, treating each other's inner wounds. Times where they put their hands together to face a cruel destiny.

"Thank you for encouraging me to live, Iruna."

"Hey .... You're still watching me right now, aren't you?"

There's no answer. Only the morning breeze answered Otomura's question.

(So the feels added, read it can while listening to this soundtrack. https://youtu.be/hWVuQbcvADw)

"Oh, yeah." Othomura smiled once more. "You are indeed ... never change ...."

"Continue encouraging me. Don't let me lose to the cruelty of fate. Teach me how to be strong and strong like you. Yes, Iruna?"

"It's certainly not a short time ...."

"Most people must have changed ...."

"But the two of us .. have never changed at all."

"We're still the same as we were that day."

"We are still .. two innocent children who are fighting for their lives."

Inadvertently, Otomura's gaze caught a small light that crossed the blue sky. One, two, three. There was a lot of light passing by. It looks like it's a meteor shower.

"Star falls, huh?" Otomura. "Ah, yes. Now it's been in the Ursid meteor shower, and the time is right." He stared at his hologram watch which showed six o'clock passing by.

"According to the people .., if we plead to a shooting star .., then our petition will come true."

"Wants .. can be reality, yes ...."

Otomura pondered for a moment, but finally he decided to just watch the meteor shower while smiling with his mouth closed.

"Wants can come true ..., it's great ...."

"But ...."

"I have no more wishes."

"My dream has been accomplished. All my wishes are fulfilled. I no longer need to curse and complain about everything that has happened."

"I don't have any requests, so I don't think I need any more miracles. I'll live my life happily."

"Everything has just begun. I cannot be satisfied with my achievements. I'll keep fighting."

"Pray me, yes ...."

"Iranian ...."
