Day 63: Memories Elements Ring (Part 22)

The sun had already started to pull into the horizon and set. Red and orange dominate the sky. Occasionally crows cross the sky while rowing like in movies and animations. The light of the twilight sun fell on their dark black feathers.

One of the crows perched on the roof of the village hall building, where an event was taking place. A farewell ceremony between the main character, Ryugai Yuzumoto, and the villagers. If there is a beginning, there will be an end. Like the song says. Coming will go, passing 'will pass\~\~, there will be no\~\~, meet will part\~\~. Hey\~\~ see you at another day\~\~.

Another crow perched on a tree by the window, watching closely the crowd sitting inside the village hall. A middle-aged man was standing on the podium and preparing to use loudspeaker magic. Yes, that man is Grandpa Yurato.

"Good afternoon, my people. My point of gathering you all here is because soon the Hero we love, who has twice saved this village will soon leave this Arafubi Village. He said that he has been here for too long, so he will return to his home country tonight, too" said Yurato's grandfather. Loudspeaker magic made his voice become loud and echoed in all directions. The announcement was immediately greeted by the shock of the villagers.

"Huh?! He'll be back soon?"

"It's a shame."

"He was great, you know."

"Well .., if it's in his interest as a wanderer, I don't think it's a problem."

"So ...." Grandfather Yurato continued his words. "Before leaving the village, Ryugai wanted to give his last speech to all of us. To Ryugai Yuzumoto." The middle-aged man stepped up, away from the magic circle that was able to transform the small voice into a loud voice. The working principle is similar to that of a speaker.

Ryugai who was behind the stage also began to step up the podium. A smile was etched on the star face of the event. His mouth that had been clenched began to open. Magic loudspeakers rushed to work and increased the volume of the young man's voice.

"Good afternoon, everybody. Yes .., as the Village Chief said earlier, I will leave this village tonight as well. Actually, I hesitated to return to my home country, because this village holds a pile of memories that are very valuable to me. However, if my wandering stops here, I will not be able to realize my dream. Therefore, I must continue to advance."

"Yes, indeed separation is bitter .., but we cannot live without separation and sorrow. I realize that all those bitter things are part of life and we inevitably have to accept them. Because if we don't, we'll never get ahead."

"I want to thank Grandpa Yurato and his family, my friends and teachers at Zanz Magic Academy, and all the villagers who have been very friendly and warm to me. I don't know if we can meet again or not. Nor can I insist that we meet again. I am not a god. I'm human. I cannot change the writing already written on the fate scroll as I please. Therefore, there is only one thing I can do, which is to go ahead and believe, because there may be a miracle that can bring us back together."

"Finally, thank you and see you. Take care of your health."

Right after, Ryugai descended the podium and returned backstage, where Otomura was already waiting for him with a smile etched on his face, satisfied with Ryugai's extraordinary speech. Yes, Otomura. Ryugai manages to convince her to return to the real world. Although it is a bit difficult to convince the young man.

"Good work, Ryugai," Otomura said as he rubbed the disheveled blue-haired youth's shoulders.

"Yes, thank you" Ryugai said.

Hearing her name being called, Ryugai turned to the direction the voice came from. Akiyama, Arai, and Genbu were running towards him. After greeting Otomura, the three young men turned their bodies towards Ryugai.

"You guys?"

"So that's so cool, you know!!" Akiyama patted Ryugai's back hard. "Your words sound so wise!!"

"Yes" Arai said with a smile.

"thank you. By the way, why are you guys here?" ask Ryugai.

"We want to give something to you" Genbu said. "Farewell gift."

"Farewell gift?" Ryugai's eyebrows are linked.

"Yes." Yeah." Genbu reached into his pants pocket, then pulled out three rings decorated with red, orange, and black gems. "It."

"Hm?" Ryugai stretched out his hand, then took out the three rings.

"The "gods attached to these three rings we created by extracting our own magic energy. In other words, it is an element ring. Therefore, this ring can also be useful for protection."

"But, magic energy will not work in the country where I come from" Ryugai said.

"The precious thing is not his strength, but his memories" Akiyama said.

"True, too," Ryugai said as he placed the rings one by one on the fingers of his left hand. "These rings are really good. Thank you." Thank you."

"Ah, there's one ring left behind." Genbu reached into his pants pocket once more, then took out a ring decorated with a pure white gem. "It."

Ryugai's eyes immediately glazed as he looked at the ring of elements. The white color was ..., clearly depicting Shiro Airzaleif.

"It's a good thing I kept a little bit of his elemental power that I stole using the Absorb technique when we practiced matchmaking. So, we can still extract the elemental power from that one young man. Well .., he was a coward and a weakling. He's a loser, too. Even so, he's still our precious friend."

"Huh. So they can't forget that weak young man yet, huh?" Ryugai. A sweet smile was engraved on his face. He took the ring and placed it on the little finger of his left hand.

"Thank you."
