Day 2: The Hero (Final Part of Day 2)

"Damn it!!!" gerutu Otomura while resting on a branch that was at the top of one of the trees. His body was shaking. In front of his own two eyes, there was a terrible sight. Soldier's bodies scattered. They could not get any closer than 10 meters from the bull-headed giant. The archers tried to aim at his eyes, which was the weakness of the monster. However, the Minotaur easily deflected and threw all the arrows onto the grass-covered ground, or caught them with the palm of the hand and smashed them into pieces of wood and metal. Some magic casters tried to attack him with magic, but it seemed that the Minotaur was protected by some kind of anti-magic barrier.

"That's really a weapons sensor, huh?" The chief warrior who also acted as an archer in the battle this time jumped back from his tree branch to the treetop occupied by Otomura, standing beside the golden-haired man. The archers and magic casters were placed on the treetops to make it more flexible to shoot and cast magic, while the melee fighters were placed below. "Damn .... Though the movement has stopped, but we can't lure him to get out of this southern forest."

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps came from behind. The lush foliage of the tree that was being made into a pedestal by Otomura and the head of the warrior swayed. From behind that pile of green leaves, the figure of a disheveled blue-haired young man leaped out, then resting on the treetops. The two young man's eyes stared intently at the Bull Giant. A bow was clasped in his right hand and a rattan bag containing arrows hung on his back. The hero's distinctive smile was engraved on his lips. "Sorry, am I late?"

"Ryugai!! As expected, you won't let me fight alone!!" Othomura exclaimed while smiling cheerfully.

"Don't misunderstand me. I only came here because I felt bad leaving you who were fighting" Ryugai said. "Take this back because you've helped me a lot."

"Hey, you said you'd never return the favor?" Otomura elbowed Ryugai's shoulder. The blue-haired youth nearly choked, eating his own talk.

"Shut up, ah." He turned his face away.

"Don't lie to yourself, Ryugai."

"Whispering. When we get home, I'll kill you."

"Try it if you can ...."

"By the way, is the Minotaur protected by an anti-magic barrier? From earlier the magic that was launched towards him had nothing to do." Ryugai looked straight at the Minotaur.

"Yes" Otomura said. "The area within a radius of 10 meters around it is an anti-magic area. Magic won't work there."

"Including inventory magic?" ask Ryugai.

"Don't know. No one ever tried. No one is so stupid" said the head soldier. "After all, what's the use of inventory magic when fighting the Minotaur?"

As if ignoring the chief warrior's question, Ryugai turned to Otomura and asked: "Can you use inventory magic now?"

"Can" Otomura said while bringing up a light blue magic circle which then transformed into a dimensional hole. Ryugai put his arrows on the bowstring, then put the bow that had been in the ready to shoot position into the inventory. "Inventory is a vacuum storage. In other words, this bow also won't shoot arrows before it comes out of this empty dimension, right? Because the time has stopped."

"Be-True also ...," said Otomura while closing the inventory dimension hole.

"Wait!!" Both of Otomura's eyes were wide. The head soldier also looked surprised. The two people had just realized Ryugai's plan. "Don't tell me you want to"

"Yes" said Ryugai. "Well, I guarantee this plan will work."

"But, we don't know if the area is only sensitive to offensive-type magic or to all kinds of magic!!! If it's a little wrong, your life can float, you know!!" prevent the warrior head. "After all, if you approach it over a ten-meter radius, it's like killing in-"

The soldier's head was cut off. Not yet had he finished his words, Ryugai had first jumped from one tree to another, approaching the bull-headed monster who was silent for some reason. In other words, this Minotaur was actually blind!! He could tell the whereabouts of his enemy by detecting the metallic elements from the weapons carried by the soldiers!! He does not have eyes, but has a weapon sensor in his brain system!!"

"The developers of this game are smart as well. He used a psychological trick where it was impossible for anyone to approach a dangerous monster without carrying a weapon. The people of the village did not realize that actually using their bare hands instead they would be able to finish off this Minotaur!! Hmp. Sometimes things that are dubious and considered stupid and unreasonable actions can actually be a solution, huh?"

"Now, the problem is whether the Minotaur is sensitive to all kinds of magic or just offensive-type magic. I have to figure out how to make myself a guinea pig, even if that means my life is at stake!!!" ryugai exclaimed as he jumped onto the shoulder of the Monster, then climbed to the top of the head of the Minotaur.

A notification of communication magic appeared next to Ryugai, displaying Otomura's face. "Ryugai? Should I open the inventory dimension hole now?" tanyakanya.

"Yes. Just open it," Ryugai said with a sigh of relief because apparently his guess was correct. The anti-magic barrier surrounding the Minotaur was only sensitive to offensive-type magic. "This minotaur is actually blind and deaf. The only senses he had were metal sensors in his brain. He protected himself with his destructive power and the anti-magic barrier he installed within a 10-meter radius around his body. However, it seemed that he was only programming the barrier to dampen the function of offensive-type magic. The proof is, we can freely use this communication magic here without him noticing, right?"

Otomura. "So apparently an impossible action is the solution, huh?"

"Rather than a lecture, you better quickly make an inventory dimension hole right in front of the Minotaur's eyes and remove the bow from your inventory!! He'll be moving again" the soldier's head interjected.

"Ah, well," Otomura said. The young man immediately raised an inventory dimension hole in front of the Minotaur's left eye. Because the empty dimension meets the non-vacant dimension, the empty dimension is filled with time and space so that time goes back. Quickly, the arrow attached to Ryugai's bowstring shot and pierced right in the Minotaur's left eye. The giant had detected an object containing metallic elements that were darting towards his eyes, but it was too late. Before he could do anything, his life had already fallen from his body. The arrow had finished him off in an instant, making the mighty body fall directly on the lush trees in the southern forest. A loud roar was heard followed by a loud clashing sound.

The atmosphere of silence for a while, before finally the silence was replaced by cheers from all adventurers and security forces. All the warriors and adventurers who were there immediately approached Ryugai who was standing on the Minotaur's body.

"Good work, young man," said the head soldier as he groped Ryugai's shoulder. "You are a hero. I must immediately tell this good news to the village chief who is now taking care of the refugees in the north."

"I didn't think you were a genius too!!!" Otomura patted Ryugai's back hard, making him complain of pain.

"Sick, know!!!" ketus Ryugai's.

"Hey, just sick?"

"You want to try it too?!"

"Oh, sick!!!"

"It hurts, right?"

"But kidding, weeee ...."

"You're asking me to fight?!"

"Come!!"

"Haaahh .., basic young people today ...."

The atmosphere in the southern forest at night was filled with triumphant cheers that blended with the laughter of Ryugai and Otomura. Yeah, laughter. For the first time since that day, Ryugai was able to laugh out loud again with a carefree face.

"So, it's like being a hero ...."

"Dad, mother, sister ...."

"It seems ..., my dead heart has come back to life."
