[Season 2] Chapter 46: The Big Family

The aunt immediately put the watering pot she was holding on the garden chair, then escorted Yuukaru and Ryugai down a simple path flanked by various plants on the left-right. As soon as he got to the door, he grabbed the doorknob and pushed it, then stepped in. Ryugai and Yuukaru tailed behind him. The house is made of wood and looks simple, but not too narrow. Why were Yuukaru's uncle and aunt at Grandma's house? It was because the grandmother did not live alone, but with her youngest daughter and daughter-in-law.

When the three men entered the house, the husband of the aunt immediately greeted them with a warm smile. Just like his wife, he looked surprised as well as happy to see Yuukaru coming.

"Good morning, Uncle."

"Yukaru!! You've come, apparently. It has been a long time since we met, yes," said Yuukaru's uncle with a carefree face. "How are you?"

"Good, Uncle. My father and mother are also fine in the city" Yuukaru said as he returned his uncle's smile.

"Good then ...."

The happy face of the uncle suddenly turned into a confused face as he looked at Ryugai who had just put his big bag on the chair. The part of the forehead between his eyebrows is wrinkled. "You ... who?"

"I'm the husband of Yuukaru. Good morning." Good morning." Ryugai bowed in greeting.

"Wait a minute, Yuukaru is married?" The man's 40-50s' pupils pointed upwards, implying that he was thinking. He had a memory stack in his brain. "When?"

Auntie patted her forehead while sighing heavily. "Your time' has forgotten? That time, right, we also attended her wedding!!! Besides, don't you see the big belly of our niece? She was obviously pregnant."

"Oh, yes!!" The uncle immediately remembered the event. "Sorry, yeah. I forget. You should look fat, Yuukaru. I thought you ate a lot."

"No problem, Uncle," Ryugai said.

"You are this .... Still not too old but senile is worse than Mom." Aunt breathed heavily once again.

"Hehe, sorry. I remember, really, now. Oh, ja. What's your name, son?"

*hub!!!*

Yuukaru, his aunt, and Ryugai immediately fell backwards due to the ridiculous behavior of the uncle.

"Lho's? Wh why? My question is wrong, isn't it?" asked uncle with a plain face. That expression made Yuukaru and auntie annoyed, but it also made them not have the heart to scold her.

"No, kok. My name is Yuzumoto Ryugai. Uncle can call me Ryugai. Hello to you." Ryugai introduced himself while bowing his body once more, then extended his hand.

"Greetings, Ryugai." Uncle responded kindly. He also extended his hand.

The two shook hands with a smile etched into the face. Meanwhile, Yuukaru and his aunt seemed to be whispering in the back.

"Just be ashamed, yeah."

"Yes, I wonder why I have a husband like her."

"What are you talking about?"

Uncle suddenly interrupted the chatter, startling his wife and nephew. I don't know when he's been behind the two of them.

"Ah, i-yes!! Right!!" sahut Yuukaru stammered with nervousness.

"Oohhh ...."

"Di-He can eliminate the air of his existence?" Ryugai stared in disbelief. "Who is this guy really? What's the ninja's descendant?"

"Oh, yes. Where is grandma?" Yuukaru asked a question, intending to divert the conversation.

"In her room" said aunty.

"Okay, thank you. Ryugai, go!!" Yuukaru rushed towards her grandmother's room, followed by her husband.

It did not take long for them to arrive in the grandmother's room because the house is not too spacious, but also not too narrow. Yuukaru opened the sliding door slowly and politely. The grandmother was sitting cross-legged not far from the window and knitting with a calm, peaceful, and happy face. Although he was no longer young, his life spirit was not at all reduced. Indeed, he can no longer do activities like before. However, his face exuded an immense spirit of life and gratitude.

"My grandchildren .., Yuukaru and Ryugai .... Good morning" he said in a weak voice, but also sounded cheerful. Although Ryugai was not his biological grandson, but he already considered him as his own grandson.

"Good morning, Grandma," said Yuukaru.

"How are you guys?"

"Well, Grandma," said the couple almost simultaneously.

"Yuukaru, how are your parents in town? Were you happy while you were there?"

"Yes, Grandma."

(Author: Very happy, to the point of being bullied every day, being vilified by classmates, and going to jail on false charges.

Ratsuko: Hush. That's, right, the past.)

"Well you're here, how about you tell me about your experiences while living in a big city like Tokyo?" ask grandma.

"Can, tuh. I want to hear it too." Uncle who was right on the doorstep joined the crowd.

"You guys are talking, yeah. I had to continue watering the plants" said the aunt who was next to the uncle before turning over and leaving the doorway.

"All right." Yuukaru and Ryugai immediately sat on the woody floor followed by uncle, then they started chatting and telling stories with laughter.

Outside the window, the spring breeze gently blew. A sparrow (suzume) that served as inspiration for the village founder to name the village perched on one of the tree branches to rest its beautiful brownish wings. The harmonious family. His beak opened and he began to chirp with a melodious voice, as if he was singing cheerfully.
