The Demon Swordsman 3

The Demon Swordsman 3
Ch. 132 - Best Rest

Not only Bai Huang, Nan Ran also lost her sister in the war. Although his crying was not as painful as the previous days still Nan Ran was sad. The sister he had taken care of beyond his own life fell, leaving him alone in the world.

"You're never alone. We are all your family. Which you must protect and will also guard you from distress."

There Xin Chen briefly met Wei Feng and Yu Xiong where they last met during a mission in the Qing Empire. They were still alive and saved by the war general when the enemy herd was about to kill them both for treason. It was good news for Xin Chen even though he had to accept the death nagging from Wei Feng. The archer seemed to be really angry. Moreover, knowing Xin Chen would go to the Wei Empire without inviting him.

But Wei Feng was quite self-conscious. He knew the jungle there was no longer the house he used to know. Decades in the Shang Empire, many things happened there. Danger has nosedived to the most dangerous level.

Xin Chen announced for a while the leader seat would be filled by Huo Rong during her departure. They had no objections because Xin Chen's decision must have had a reason. And as always, Lan Zhuxian would be Huo Rong's partner. The young man had the soul of a great leader and was able to serve his master. But if he was made a leader, Xin Chen was sure Lan Zhuxian would not be able to. He needed someone in front of him to be able to move and make a decision.

After bidding farewell to the entire Four Surveillance Units, Xin Chen quickly left without wasting any time. He, Luo Li and Lang immediately followed the ship that was about to deliver them to the border village between the Shang Empire and the Wei Empire.

Two nights passed, the new ship leaned against the harbor where Xin Chen could see dozens of people with unfamiliar-looking faces. Getting used to being with the people of the Shang Empire made Xin Chen more sensitive to the faces of other empires. And the manner in which these border people dressed might follow the people of the Wei Empire.

Their clothes tend to be simpler. Maybe to support their movement to be more free. How to stare suspiciously and misgivings, and how to speak so loudly. There was no softness at all, that was also the case for the women.

Strict attitude and character. Appearance is what it is and not so friendly to strangers.

Luo Li knew one of them. A man in typical fisherman clothes, sweat soaked his entire body so that when the man moved his sweat water scattered everywhere. He returned Luo Li's greeting with a huge shout, laughing.

"You're coming again. Haha."

"I need your help for access to the Wei Empire."

"G ..." His originally cheerful face turned cloudy, those yellowish murky eyeballs were down the entire harbor and his eyes were completely hopeless.

"The last time that came in there was never any news. Whether they survived or not. And the risk is getting bigger. I will be caught if the second time fails, they will definitely kill me to death stand."

The fisherman shook his hand, "Forget over the matter of entering the Wei Empire. You should be happy to get out of there and find somewhere else worth it." He shook his head in an inexhaustible manner. "can you return when hundreds of thousands of people there scream to escape the Wei Empire."

"I have to see my teacher. And I brought someone who wanted to see him too."

The fisherman stopped with his catch of fish, staring at Xin Chen as if to say that the young man was doing something ridiculous.

"Hey, kid. I warned you before it was too late." He pointed to the back, pointing at the Wei Empire. "There, you're gonna die. Either by starvation, plague, the undead or by armed assholes. The chances of a new person surviving there are only fifteen percent. You imagine!"

"You also brought a pet? Just pray he's not being made into a guinea pig whose body was grown by the mad researcher."

"It looks like your mouth is what should be planted first. Put it in the butt hole for example, so that your useless babble doesn't make me so deaf."

The man fell silent to interpret Lang's talk just now. The color of his face was heavily offended. Xin Chen cleared his throat.

"I'm sorry this wolf, it just ate poison, it just went like this."

The fisherman tried to laugh even though his heart was a little dislikeful. Continuing his negotiations with the slightly troubled Luo Li. The situation within the Wei Empire was being unstable according to him, there were several guards stationed at important locations. There was no guarantee for her to survive if it helped Luo Li and her two friends in.

But the price offer Xin Chen offered next made the man soften a little. At least according to the price it cost.

"But ..." The man began to be unsure. "Your chances of getting there are very small. I can't guarantee that the police won't arrest you. Lately the Emperor's been tightening surveillance, I don't know why. But I saw a group of men carrying a stranger to the palace gates. It seemed like it was rare to see the Emperor communicating with outsiders."

Xin Chen caught the explanation with a conjecture in his head, but it felt that it was impossible because this movement was too fast for the person to make.

"Do you know who he is?"

"I don't know and don't want to know." The short answer ended the conversation, the man looked at the left right for a moment.

"I'll be quick. The tunnel may have been watched, you beware of toxic fumes or anything dangerous. Once caught, your fate will be unfortunate until the end of life."

The man remembered when they arrived at a hidden tunnel, behind an empty house and covered in thick and heavy iron.

"I won't open this tunnel again after you guys. So don't think about going back after you step inside."

Xin Chen nodded in understanding, he was about to enter immediately into that tunnel. But the man held his hand, and sure enough, it felt so cold.

"I know you have spirit power" he said, "It's best not to use that power too much. Inside there are thousands of alchemists and mad researchers searching for humans like you. They create nonsensical tools that can make you lose control of your own body. Be careful, or you'll die before you meet the man you're looking for."

He let go of that ice-free hand, watching Luo Li and Lang enter in turns. No more words were spoken from him until the only light that illuminated the tunnel disappeared. They looked ahead, Lang leading forward

"As he said. Hide the spirit power. I'll track the exit. Follow me."
