"I will never forgive that person ... I'll make him regret it after what he did."
The mutter distracted the Lightning Fox who was busy monitoring the situation ahead. They had been far away from the castle and the defensive tower fortress near the side gate. Now stay away as far as possible avoiding the soldiers around.
"You hate her?"
"Not only that, I want to skin him alive." The anger on Xin Chen's face was already unstoppable. But it made the Lightning Fox astonished, usually Xin Chen did not care so much about matters like this.
"Growing older also makes you more sensitive, huh?"
Xin Chen stopped when he saw a group of warriors gathering in a circle, only passing through them could the two of them directly enter the forest which was much safer than outside.
"If this is just a betrayal between me and him, I don't really worry about it ..."
"But I was worried, if he could betray me then he could have betrayed the trust placed in the Outer Central population. They wished him a lot, in order to bring peace and wipe out the tribulations in this Imperial land. If he did that, I don't think a single piece of land in the Empire would accept his corpse."
Xin Chen advanced first, arriving within the forest that was a little safe from the infected, probably already cleared by the soldiers first. The fox turned out to be left behind behind him, when Xin Chen realized the fox was instead discovered.
"Hey, I saw something there!"
One of them walked quickly towards the Lightning Fox who was taking refuge behind a low wall. Xin Chen acted quickly, throwing explosives into one corner.
The man stopped and turned his head, checked where the small explosion had come from but found nothing.
"Ah, it may be nothing" he said as he scratched the ear of astonishment. His friend who was still lined up in a chiming circle.
"Not focused on work, eh? Maybe you miss your wife's hug at home."
"Hahaha, a weathered bujang like him has a wife. At most the hugging of straw in the stables," another sneer, he replied with glaring eyes.
Xin Chen knew he could not face the men directly, killing them. His current priority was to make sure he and the Lightning Fox entered without suspicion. The fox immediately moved quickly, catching up with Xin Chen.
"From my little brother, almost got caught." Xin Chen moved a hand telling the Lightning Fox to stand beside him. The fox took out a tree branch and immediately shook it into the hands of its disciple.
"Support a little with your teacher."
Xin Chen cursed inwardly, forgetting his body could now feel the pain of the twig at the hands of the lightning fox. The Lightning Fox had already walked first, down the long forest roads to deliver them to one place with a fairly clear view.
The fox stared back silently ahead, processing all the things he had just discovered in the Wei Empire.
"This place used to be a peaceful place" he explained. "The place that geniuses from all parts of the world dream of. The advanced place. Full knowledge. They used to be people with firm principles, to turn this world into a better world. With knowledge that has been given hereditary."
The fox's head shook, sliced. "But greed eats their conscience. Create dangerous weapons with that knowledge to win from the enemy. I'm sure their old leader wanted a formidable weapon to destroy other territories. But he brought reinforcements to his own place. When everything happened ...."
The fox's eyes stared deep into a very unusual building. A giant circular shape covered with a flat roof, perhaps that place alone had eaten up ten percent of the territory of the Wei Empire - which could be said to be very, very vast. Up to hundreds of hectares. The Lightning Fox could not account for how vast the place was. But if you think about it, maybe one Fanlu City is equivalent to the middle of that giant place.
The haze of smoke from the clouds above the sky made the view of the city and other buildings a little blurry. The Lightning Fox pointed at what it saw.
"I heard such a powerful voice from that place, would you like to see it?"
Xin Chen followed the direction of his pointer and instantly glared, his face turning agitated. A flash featuring a death passageway containing hundreds of thousands of corpses re-conquered his mind. The young man shook his head quickly, traumatized by the place.
"It was the Labyrinth of Death that I was telling you about. The place where I first saw the infected. It was the most tragic place I've ever seen." He added bitterly, "And I won't want to visit again."
Fox's face changed, looking from a distance where she heard the sound mixed. Whimpering, roaring, screaming. They were nothing more than corpses being tortured in hell.
"So there they threw the humans away?"
"Part of them are failed guinea pigs. The rest are demons of the same fate. Then the humans who were affected by the plague. Maybe they created the labyrinth to lock the infected."
"They don't have the weapons to fight this Infected yet?"
"Maybe, have. Like a gun with a bullet that can blow their brains out. Maybe from there too I created that explosive style."
Xin Chen was reminded of something that had not been told to the Lightning Fox. "Don't forget about this. Being infected has its own level of danger. From type S to the weakest type D. But I've met a more dangerous type than that. The new type that Qin Yujin is developing, the SSS type."
The fox frowned. "I can imagine it. What used to look dangerous. Especially what that man made. We have to stop it."
Xin Chen was stunned to find a moment of presence that was not far away. Sure enough a man showed up. He seemed to have been stalking them from a distance.
"You? Stopped who?" soldiers with gold helmets and red armor appeared. Looks like a senior soldier.
All parts of his body were covered in iron. He can't be attacked by a sword or by an explosion. Xin Chen was on guard, as was the Lightning Fox. They panicked when they saw the man calling his friend.
"There's intruders!!! There's intruders-arggh! What the fuck?!"
The man did not realize something was being spilled into the back of his slightly open neck. His body was itching and sore, like a liquid poison that worked outside the body. When preoccupied with the itch, someone kicked the man's head until his head protector was thrown away.
The soldier turned his head to the side, seeing a girl with a cloth covering from her nose to her middle neck pulling her sword from behind and directly splitting her forehead up into the skull bone.
Xin Chen and the Lightning Fox just silently watched the girl kick the head of her already stretched victim, removing the sword stuck in her bones.
"You think I'll just shut up and let you kill that bastard? I'm the one who's gonna kill him, for my brother's sake."
