Ch. 147 - Half an Hour on the Brink of Death
Preparation is complete.
Now it's time to jump straight to the real place. The source as well as the cause of all the misfortunes that settled in the Wei Empire. The lab, run by mad researchers, has now been buried by the ruins of a tall tower.
The commander of the Central Military Faction explained that in that place, the researchers had turned into infected Type B. Under Type A, but still it takes great care in dealing with them, one of those infected bites will instantly change it. Other than humans, there were hundreds of experimental beasts trapped there. They're cooped up. Gathering along the Laboratory.
Structure map of Laboratory B-1 has been issued. The only entrance is the circled place, the side road. One of the doors there can be accessed.
Xin Chen continued to recall, he only had three vaccines. His condition could worsen at any time, if he was trapped in the B-1 Laboratory he would not survive there forever and ended up being part of the infected. What a terrible end. He didn't want that at all
Various preparations have been given. The Commander of the Central Military Faction who delivered him gave little direction and advice. Xin Chen would be accompanied by about twelve fully armed members of the Central Military Faction.
"Wait."
The commander of the Central Military Faction held back as the troops were about to move.
He breathed, looking worried. "You are our only hope. Please come back, with the key. For the salvation of mankind."
Xin Chen smiled slightly. "Surely."
The Commander of the Central Military Faction to him was a good person. He thought of others in the future. It's not just the people around him. The man wanted change, even though he had to sacrifice his life.
They leave as soon as possible to their destination. Heading to the location where Laboratory B-1 is buried.

Scars of blood, carcasses shrouded in flies and piles of rubble covered most of Laboratory B-1. The place had been cleared by the Central Military Faction making it easier for them to arrive at its exterior. The sound of flies around the carcass sounded so noisy. Some of the bodies are still alive, although only half the body is left.
Xin Chen poked the infected head, ending the sufferer and throwing him a glance forward. The B-1 laboratory is extensive. And from the map he saw, this place would definitely be quite winding. There are some rooms that should not be opened because in them there are dangerous experimental creatures.
The key that the Commander of the Central Military Faction wanted was not an arbitrary key. The key was located in the control room, far away in the basement. The key is stored with other valuables in one large box. There are several samples, data, and various vaccines that have been created. The man stressed, do not let a single item be left from there. Because after being explored, the place will be immediately detonated to kill all living things in it.
The entrance was opened, dozens of men stopped with each weapon in hand
"Till here we will accompany you. Good luck, buddy."
The security door opened, a dark room inside. Not yet anything Xin Chen immediately saw the creatures roaming around.
His fears will be tested here. The fear was still there, when he saw the pale ghost-like creature chasing after him. Xin Chen took a deep breath, throwing fear away.
Wen patted Xin Chen on the shoulder, widening the smile until his teeth were seen.
Leas Wen said, someone covered the man's body, turning his gaze to someone whose larger body was accompanied by a firm disposition.
"I'm late to tell you. But you only have thirty minutes to get the box before it's blown up."
"What-what?" Obviously Xin Chen was shocked, he just found out about it. After all, looking for a box in a dangerously infected ocean will not be enough for only half an hour.
"The situation is like this. Once you enter, this door will be guarded for as long as I say. The rest, air contamination and dangerous things from the inside will come out. Do not rule out the possibility of Type S infection there will come out and prey on people outside the Laboratory."
"If that happens, the Central Military Faction will be responsible for this."
"If I don't find him in thirty minutes, you're gonna blow him up with me?"
"If you don't find him in 28 minutes, come back soon."
Xin Chen understood it. At least this guy wasn't trying to bury him in hell down there. At least that alone amuses him.
Without asking much more he immediately came down, entering the door.
Xin Chen was finally alone after the door locked. Darkness accompanied his steps so slowly down a room. Only eight meters away from him was infected, not so aware of his whereabouts but his movements seemed to be smelling something. Xin Chen silently stabbed him from behind, finishing him off to no reaction. There was no other choice, he had to open a path in order to enter the next room.
Unfortunately something ran fast, Xin Chen was hiding behind a table. Feeling the sound approaching. He can see all Infected and stealth positions in this Laboratory. However, the only option for him to survive was to move quietly without attracting attention.
"About 1,189 infected, 298 experimental animals failed ..."
The eye keeps circling around, counting quickly and considering the strategy it will use. There's only himself here while time goes on
In front of him, there were already dozens of infected swarming around. The creature had moved away, Xin Chen wasted no time and immediately moved to the other side. Relying on his keen sense of sight, he did not need any more illumination.
His steps back stalled. In front of there he could go straight down to the other basement, there was a staircase surrounded by many infected.
Xin Chen back then stood on a fairly high medicine shelf. He threw an oil-filled bomb, the explosion was indeed weak but attracted enough infected attention there. After gathering Xin Chen lit the Fire of Eternity. Burned dozens of infected. Then utilize that momentum to go straight down.
The first time he set foot onto the stairs, Xin Chen did not expect the last rung of stairs to have been flooded by water all the way to the entire large room that was locked with a thick iron key that was located quite far away from him. There were many corpses floating, the water was also not so clear and it was just like a little mixed with strange substances.
He has no other choice. Infected behind him began to chase with a body that was still in the flames. Xin Chen just prayed in his heart, hopefully the water will not turn him into a fish.
He threw himself into the water to unlock the iron in front. There are still dozens of rooms that must be passed to get to the destination. When he opened his eyes, Xin Chen was startled by the infected glaring about to claw at him with such a close distance.
