The Central Military Faction Commander waited long enough for Xin Chen's reply, his face looking complicated. It must have been difficult considering the confidence of the Night Protector people and the chance to arrive at his destination.
"I agree to it."
That satisfying answer printed a wide smile on the man's face.
"You made the right decision. This is also about the safety of the inhabitants of the Wei Empire, in the sense that you not only help me but also help the people out there."
The Central Military Faction Commander reached out.
"Go back in three days. We meet at the underground bridge, my other comrades will tell you the position."
Xin Chen greeted him.
"Then what about your wishes? I don't know it either. Say."
Xin Chen paused for a moment before expressing his goal to the Wei Empire. The young man looked at the Central Military Faction Commander a few seconds before speaking.
"I want to go to Central."
The commander of the Central Military Faction fell silent, noticing a bit of surprise afterwards. "Central Center-?"
"You can take me there, right?"
The commander of the Central Military Faction looked uneasy, between anxious and a little unable to explain it to Xin Chen.
"This is a difficult offer." He explains. "The road to Central Central is indeed guarded in part by my people. But that doesn't mean I have the power to get people out and in. I don't have that special right. The one who has it is the one who is far above me. This is too risky for the Central Military Faction."
Disappointment was seen on Xin Chen's face, "So our Cooperation is off?"
The Central Military Faction Commander held back, speaking with a stern face.
"I can work on it. Even though this would risk my life. Just as you went down to Laboratory B-1, you also risked your life there. We're even."
After the conversation, Wen returned and drove Xin Chen into a room, picking up a small box of vaccines.
"There are three in it. While this vaccine is hard to make, so you need to save it, man. If you want more I have candy for you."
Wen thrust the candy at Xin Chen who was almost in disbelief.
"Eeeh, I'm not a child." Xin Chen replied, "after all there is a forty-year-old man who keeps candy in his pocket."
Wen laughed so frenziedly as he patted Xin Chen on the back. The young man almost turned it upside down.
"Hahaha, you're right too. But don't get me wrong."
Wen looked at the candy in his hand with a smile that turned wistful.
"Sometimes when I can finally find my children, I'll give them."
Xin Chen noticed the look on Wen's face, just like Three, everyone lost their beloved family. He had once felt that way and was completely rendered helpless by the circumstances. His hand patted Wen's shoulder a little hard.
"Come on, don't cry, Wen. As a father you must be strong enough to fight for them."
"Ever heard a sentence, a man cries not because he is weak, he cries because he is strong for too long."
Xin Chen was a little overshadowed when he saw his father crying in the middle of the night, when everyone was already asleep. There's just sitting in the yard alone. He was so amazed by figures like them, as well as including Wen.
The man embraced Xin Chen. "Already, already. We need to get out. The Night Guardians will be suspicious if you stay here too long."
Wen had offered to drive Xin Chen to his destination, but Xin Chen was worried that Yu's men would notice and realize this.
He returned to the Southeast Campground, greeted by the surprised faces of Yu and Lang.
"Finally you're home too!" Lang half-screamed, he immediately threw a thousand questions.
"Rest for a moment. We'll talk about this after you recover."
Xin Chen had no choice but to obey Yu. He immediately returned to his tent. Night came quickly, Yu revealed Xin Chen's curtain cover, called him out and ate.
Dozens of people sat around the bonfire at the height of an adult's chest. Eating together faced increasingly impossible days in the Wei Empire. Joking laughter rang out from their mouths, Yu nudged Xin Chen's arm.
"You got to the healer's house?"
Xin Chen shook his head. "No."
It seemed like the reports that went to him were true, Yu's face looked guilty.
"You've been infected?"
"I grieve for your friend who's gone."
There was silence between the two of them.
"Then how did you survive?" The question was finally out as well, Xin Chen started to concoct a possible syllogical to cover up his lies. Yu is the type of person who is a thinker, he is hard to fool.
"When I fell a group of people came, they were armed."
"They're clothes?"
"Ordinary clothes."
Yu nodded small many times. "It is likely that other groups out there, besides the Southeast Campground there are still other surviving groups living in this place."
"They say so too."
There was no reply for quite some time, but Yu's face looked solemn afterwards.
"Lately there has been a clash between the Night Protector and the Central Military Faction. My men fell, numbering about nine. It's a pity."
Without being asked Yu continued, vengeance was evident in both of his eyes.
"One of them is my right hand. We are fed up enough of losing our colleagues to their selfishness. This time our weapons stockpile was snatched away by them."
"Where did you get those guns from?" Xin Chen pointed at the aiming that looked similar to the weapons belonging to the Central Military Faction.
"We got it from the people of the Central Military Faction who have died. But it's still ours. We deserve to live."
The conflict between these two camps is complicated.
"We are planning an attack on the headquarters of the Central Military Faction in three days. You coming?"
That question instantly made Xin Chen speechless for quite a while, at the same time he would meet with the Commander of the Central Military Faction. Time collides with each other. Yu's face turned suspicious.
"Or you've been influenced by outside thinking. Whose side are you on? The men in uniform? Or ordinary people who survive desperately like us?"
Yu continued to urge, Xin Chen replied. Lang and I are planning to look for clues to go to Central Center in the near future. I can help you with something else, but this time I can't. Opportunity comes only once, Yu. You said yourself, in this Empire everything is about small possibilities, right?"
Disappointment was evident on Yu's face, but he tried to understand Xin Chen.
"What about those bite marks?"
"I thought I could have behaved abnormally at an indeterminate time. If that time comes, I might have trouble controlling myself."
"Buddy, we're gonna find an antidote for your disease. Just take it easy, okay?" Yu patted her on the shoulder while standing up, "remain careful when going out. There's no chance of another infection showing up."
Yu's gone. Xin Chen felt really guilty. Betraying Yu who is now trying a cure for his recovery. It was inconceivable that woman's feelings if she knew she was a traitor.
