It was a cold blind morning. The steam is cold until it appears in a barrel filled with rain water. Some of the men slept in the courtyard with only a thin cloth. Their eyebrows and eyelashes are frozen by the coldness of the night. Xin Chen, Shuo, Lian and the Lightning Fox chose to stand guard. Fear if at any time the attack comes.
Silence struck, no one had spoken since the past hour. Shuo was busy sharpening the rusty knife in his hand, Lian fiddling with the antiques he found while looting. The Lightning Fox itself just sat quietly closing its eyes. Among them was only Xin Chen who was melamine in silence.
Thinking of what had happened to the current Wei Empire to the point of making his head dizzy. It all happened so fast. He was worried that Shi Long Xu and Qin Yujin were working together. Recalling how he had the man ask for the box Qin Yujin took, imagining how they conspired and fooled him.
So sucks. But his frustration was stifled because a voice echoed throughout. Xin Chen raised his head, as did Shuo and Lian.
"Don't wonder. It's just a naughty infected voice."
"But why are there so many voices?"
Xin Chen could hear it, their numbers were probably no longer hundreds and the location was far away. Maybe they are moving to their place.
"Especially if it's not the center. They want to clear the center and send the infected elsewhere. Like this town." Lian chuckled after, "Humans are now more than crazy."
"There's no way to destroy them?"
Lian looked at him for quite a while before replying, "it's not that easy. Just imagine, more than half of these imperial humans have become infected. It costs a lot to produce weapons and a long time to kill them."
"Impossible," greeted Shuo with a snort. It was already at a point where he no longer cared about what was happening around him other than surviving.
"But how did they get the infected to another city?"
"You'll see it tomorrow. I suggest that Lian and I come with you. We know of some places that still have food supplies. It's just that if it's just the two of us, we can't get through it alone."
Xin Chen said it. While hearing voices from a distance. Though he had only been away from this Empire for no more than a month, but somehow so much happened during Shi Long Xu's reign. And Shi Long Xu should still be so quick to be appointed as an Emperor. Xin Chen had no idea what was happening inside this Empire to the point that everything was going out of control.
When morning came and the sun had shone brightly, Xin Chen woke up Shuo and Lian herself who had already woken up from him.
Lian took out a bottle of liquid that had been dusty until the spider thread was still attached there. Throw it at Xin Chen on purpose.
"What's this?" Xin Chen smelled even more rotten than a rat carcass.
"Medicine for mutual salvation."
Shuo washed his face for a while, while Lian and Xin Chen waited at the exit. Watching the number of infected more and more than yesterday.
"For what reason ..this is no longer a flood, even like a tsunami." Lian peered behind the cracks of the wire, goosebumps looking out that were very crowded. It was only fitting that the Night Protectors left in their group never returned since seeking food supplies for them. Including Three. They are forced to face death to revive the remaining people.
"I wish I could still see the sun tomorrow."
Lian looked desperate.
"What do you expect from a dusty sun?" Shuo had just finished washing his face, joining them. It was indeed bright weather today was bright, but the thick fog that filled this city made it seem to glow dimly.
Lian had already prepared some weapons and bags, Shuo put up a shuffle with the level of iron jagged wood in both hands. Xin Chen was silent until a few minutes passed. The two young men next to him were astonished.
"Others we waiting for? Being disguised as a statue?" Now Shuo was a bit impatient.
"In a moment, the voice will appear."
Neither Shuo nor Lian understood what Xin Chen was saying. While behind them the doorman began to be on alert. When the three of them came out he had to cover it up immediately for the people inside the hideout to survive.
From a distance, sound waves began to sound. The vegetables grew so large that the infected in front of them fell silent, their attention on the sound.
"Now!"
Lian and Shuo hurriedly chased after Xin Chen's steps which instantly moved towards the small staircase. Unluckily one of them noticed the movement of the three and shouted, signaling to the other to catch up. Xin Chen let Shuo and Lian ride first, running as fast as possible. Looking back where the stairs started to crackle. Dozens of infected rose, leaving the rusted iron destroyed.
He used the power of the Fire of Immortality to cut the rungs behind him, the fire cut through the iron quickly. Making infected under the falls along with the iron ladder.
"Woah, what was that gun? It can cut iron like cutting paper!" Lian's eyes twinkled, forgetting that she had to keep running.
Shuo pulled him, "That's power, you who only know it is infected better to just shut up!"
"Eh but I've also seen people like him with power before. This one's cooler"
"Lian, hurry up or this ladder will collapse," Xin Chen said in a hurry.
Lian and Shuo directly climbed onto the roof, sticking out a hand to pull Xin Chen before the stairs fell on the undead below them.
All three of them survived. No more than three minutes, Lian had almost fainted. He propped both hands up on the knees, taking in the few remaining breaths. Xin Chen threw a glance down, worried that the creatures were doing the horrible thing like before. Create a deadly pyramid that won't give them a chance to escape.
"You're worried that these ugly creatures will form a huge pyramid to capture us?" Shuo asked on target.
"You know about that too?"
"Calm down, haven't I already given you a cure for salvation? That stench will cover your scent. They love the smell of humans." Lian fell over, took out one more bottle. "If you're still worried about wearing another one."
"No thanks."
He laughed out loud looking at Xin Chen's flat expression. "Come on, this won't make your nostrils bud."
"Heh, stop bothering him with that weird stuff you found." Shuo warned in annoyance, "Focus with the one in front of us."
"good. So Chief Hunt, where are we moving now?" Lian threw a question as she left her waist, waiting for Xin Chen's actual decision as well as not being able to decide where to go. The building stands alone, there is no connecting access so they can go through the roof.
Xin Chen crouched down, "I've seen on the map about the underground roads in this city. But it seems hard to find a way in."
"Incoming path ... You mean over there?" Lian pointed to one place with binoculars in hand, Xin Chen could see it clearly. Like a got covered in iron with many air holes.
"It was difficult to reach that place," Shuo responded after observing through Lian's binoculars.
"But it's the safest way" Lian said.
"You can guarantee that there's no infection down there?" Xin Chen made sure, Lian nodded. "There shouldn't be. There's no way in there, unless it's accidentally opened."
"Truely said Lian. The lower lane is very dangerous. Between the roof or the basement, that's our only option."
Shuo propped up his chin with one hand, seemingly thinking hard. But it seems he did not agree with the proposal because the place where they are now is far from that location. While the streets are full of infected, this is quite risky for him.
"So what's your plan to get past them?"
It was Xin Chen's turn to think. He couldn't use too much power, except for desperate situations.
"We think it's downstairs. Come with me."
He walked the lead in front, listened carefully to every move and looked for a place where it was possible to pass. There were some infected trapped in the building, Xin Chen told the two of them not to make a sound. Until they arrive at the ground floor where the door is locked tightly with a padlock.
"It looks like the store owner locked this shop from the inside."
Lian watched the big key with a chain wrapped around it. It's worth not so much being infected inside.
Xin Chen turned around when he sensed something was coming.
"The person you just said seems to have come."
Infected in blue clothes with a portion of his jaw having been crushed appeared, hissing smelled a scent that drew his body to the source of the smell. Shuo took out a small knife, stuck it right on the undead's head. But he did not fall down and instead chased after them.
Lian looked panicked. "Give me time to open this door."
"I'll handle it." The two Xin Chen let out two different types of strength, one bright blue circle fused together the power of lightning. It moved, darting sharply against the infected forehead.
Shuo covered his face with an arm as blood splashes mixed with brain melted everywhere. Lian had just finished opening the door, realizing her back had been covered in dirty blood. He grimaced in disgust,
"Can't you kill him more neatly? Ew."
Xin Chen responded. "The blood will hide your existence."
"I can faint this way."
"The medicine for mutual safety," Xin Chen said reversing Lian's earlier remark, the teenager put on a sour look. Didn't expect to have to swallow his own words.
"This is not good. They heard the voice and started moving here."
Realizing that things were starting to deteriorate, Shuo was on standby with his weapon. He turned to Xin Chen asking for an explanation.
"So Chen, what's our next plan?"
It's been infected it's been seen them. Xin Chen opened the door, taking a swing.
"The plan is-"
The screams made their hearts race.
"Run!"
Shuo and Lian were both startled and reflexively chased after Xin Chen from behind.
"Momuu!" shouted Lian, the infected were right behind her and now from the side their hands began to pull her body.
