The Demon Swordsman 3

The Demon Swordsman 3
Ch. 263 - Without Answers

Big news shook the entire world, millions of people were saved in the latest attack that has killed hundreds of thousands more. Cheers and cries rang out throughout the Empire. Happiness as well as sorrow were mixed, some even celebrated this victory in Cloud Protection with great fanfare.

Now the fear disappeared with the passing storm.

The sun returned to shine as usual, thanks to which Xin Chen's name as the Pillar of Shadow soared high and became a heated conversation for the past three days. Together the First Pillar and the most shocking one was the Demon God, the only real demon race that helped them face Qin Yujin.

Emperor Qin was certainly overjoyed to receive such good news, having previously been extremely desperate by the circumstances. Seizu Island is surrounded by a victory party.

Tao Gui Xiang who had once sought a way to seal Qin Yujin in relief, Xin Chen was able to face Qin Yujin even without the help of the Lotus Temple. Now the whole of Seizu Island is crowded, although strict guard continues to be implemented because there are still thousands of infected in some areas that have not been cleaned.

Although victory has been in hand but disaster and crisis have not yet been completed. There are still casualties that continue to fall.

"A quasi-victory," assumed someone who was sitting on a chair, where dozens of important people from the three Empires gathered. There Xin Fai and Xin Zhan were also there, even Xe Chang as the former leader of the Central Military Faction came as a representative of the Wei Empire back then. Emperor Yin arrived at the latest. The meeting was held to discuss the next steps to be taken.

"What do you mean, a false victory?"

A man behind Emperor Yin sat down to interject, Xin Chen did not reply to him directly but rather stared at the entire person in the room.

"Qin Yujin may be gone. But the rest of his deeds still roam all over the place. There will be no end to it if it kills them, and there will never be an antidote other than the blood of the Son of Satan."

"How can you say it, Shadow Pillar? We have thousands of good alchemists. Trust them, it may take 3-5 years. But with patience and if we are able to survive, this will all work." Advisors from the Qing Empire refuted, greeted other approvals. They prefer to think rationally.

"Know where they can create it?"

Xin Chen's reply kept the man quiet.

"The creator himself was not able to create it, this plague has existed since a thousand years ago. From this time on, none of them succeeded. And you risked the lives of thousands of people for those five years?"

Suspected, someone else defended the Advisor. Dozens of votes believe that there is still a cure that can save humans, although it will require large funds. All three parties are ready to take responsibility.

Xin Chen cut through the commotion, "We sat down three hours to discuss the same issue." He continued, staring at his father who was impartial to no one even himself.

"Ask the Yin Emperor as well as his Right Hand about the medicine. It's the only thing that can cure it, if you can create it in the thousands then I'll admit your opinion."

Emperor Yin lowered his head, until finally the Right Hand behind him explained about the Blood of the Demon Child. The mixture between human and demon blood that there is only one in the world. The regret in the eyes of the man was clearly visible.

There are so many people out there waiting to be saved. But in reality Emperor Yin could not even answer, whether this plague had a cure or if they were able to create it.

That answer can never be answered.

Returning home next to the beach, Xin Chen simply fell silent without saying anything. While the people around him kept calling his name from the first day he arrived at Seizu Island.

Xin Zhan next to him started to curse, the flowers stuck in his head. "My sister has suddenly become popular now, at least a little smile with them. Aren't you desperately fighting for all of them?"

Xin Fai agreed, "Your brother is right. At least sweep them."

Raising one hand, Xin Chen received an even louder cry. The young man had not had time to think about enjoying this atmosphere of victory, besides he also had to find someone again.

It just so happened that his eyes were able to catch a familiar figure, Xin Chen stopped.

"I'll be home later, you guys go first."

"Where are you going?" Xin Fai interrogated, swooping her eyebrows suspiciously, behind her Xin Zhan also put on the same face.

"Don't miss dinner later," Xin Fai recalled once more, Xin Chen nodded. Turn around to a food store.

While walking Xin Chen unintentionally stopped in front of a mask seller, he was old enough to not recognize who was paying attention to his trade masks

There are various forms of masks there, human masks, foxes, dragons, lions and even with strange shapes. A faint smile was engraved on his face, Xin Chen to the point of not realizing the woman who was shopping in the jewelry tavern right next to him was whispering while glancing at him.

"What are you looking for, young man?"

Xin Chen raised his face, seeing the old man waking up from his lesion with a trembling stick.

"When I was a kid, I loved masks like this."

Xin Chen remembered that clearly. When he always felt useless and chose to use a mask so that no one recognized him while walking in the crowd. He deliberately pranked the mask seller just to attract attention.

At that moment, everyone turned to look at him. He's useless trash. Always crying and terrified, the First Pillar's name was too high to match up to him as the son of a man nicknamed the Demon Sword.

He had never wept over his fate, there was a time when his shoulders were too tired to bear the trust of others. But that's what makes him strong, the people he wants to protect.

From that mask, a useless little boy had turned into a Shadow Pillar that had protected many people.

Xin Chen was wearing the mask. This time it was not out of fear that the people scolded him uselessly, but rather fear that the people would continue to cover him.

Compliments or praise are the same. Xin Chen did not need either. He was finally inside the food stall, seafood baked with seasonings on display in front.

The two people were busy fighting in it, Xin Chen entered and made the two startled. One managed to plug the eel into someone who grabbed that person.

"You are like a husband and wife I see. Very friendly" he said as he sat in front of them. The two were confused until Xin Chen removed his mask. They immediately shouted.

"Egypt your head!" yell at them both.
